Six Flags New England Is In Huge Trouble 

Picnic Grove won't work cuz the land there is unstable. They've looked into it before. It gets marshy down there apparently.

@COASTER_CHASER_1 Yeah that's a huge swath of land that it sucks they can't even use. I'm all for using the preferred parking for future expansion. I have a Diamond Elite membership but I'd gladly go back down to parking across the street in exchange for new attractions

i mean the ride was on hospice for like 5 years, rode it once in comparison to attending the park countless times

I went there last last Thursday and there were so many people on a school trip and I was jealous cuz even though I was out of school i would never get a trip there at least I have a pass tho

Their top competitor is lake compounce

Most people in this area travel to The Big E or go to the beach instead of those 2 aforementioned parks. Big E probably gets as many people in 3 weeks during the fair as Six Flags NE gets all summer.

Lake Compounce is their only real competition

@@George_bonnaire Lake Compounce doesn't even qualify as competition. There's no reason someone would go to Lake Compounce over SFNE beyond having a Palace Platinum Pass but not a Six Flags pass due to where you'll go later in the season AND being an enthusiast that has been to SFNE but not Lake Compounce living within a few hours of each at the time (can you tell that overly specific explanation was me the week I graduated college lol). A lot of the steriotypical Six Flags pet pieves are true about Lake Compounce (glad I essentially got several hours of ERT on a Friday in May the park was open a full day to allow a bunch of schools 3 hours in the park) and with the removal of their skyride up the mountain Boulder Dash is really the only thing of note. Wildcat was ruined in 2017 by the removal of the buzbars (even if Gravity Group turned it into something as good as Wooden Warrior the classic charm is gone. At least Thunderbolt at SFNE which is also ruined by 21st century modernization isn't expected to be an anchor ride. It may be my #4 in the park because I prefer it to the clones but that's very different from being the #2 ride in the park), the caroucel is one of the worst I've done using recordings rather than a band organ and running on a slow setting (cheapness that has Six Flags written all over it), ironically built by the same person who built the world's best caroucel (Santa Cruz, although you probably know the bells and whistles that thing has to make me declare it the best in the world). And of course, 1 train ops.

I’ve been to all three six flags in the region and Lake Compounce when I lived in CT.And Great Escape is no competition. If I’m in CT or western MA I’m not driving to Great Escape for a day trip without coupling it with other attractions in the region. It’s just not a great park and New England is closer. Great Adventure is competition but I wouldn’t want to drive around NYC for it; it’s not worth the headache and even now that Great Adventure is my closest Six Flags they are having their own issues this season and I’ve been going to Dorney and King’s Dominion instead. If I still lived in CT I wouldn’t drive all the way to Great Adventure right now. Lake Compounce is their real competition in which to be honest I think New England wins because they just have more. But it’s possible that could shift in upcoming years as it sounds like they fixed Wildcat so now there’s one more rideable coaster. They still need more rides though to really compete.

@@ninjagirl226 Wildcat was ruined in 2017. I'm a sucker for a classic woodie, but I'm also one to get more mad than anyone else about replacing buzbars with either modern ratchet bars or Millenium Flyers. I also care about skid breaks vs friction breaks, another 21st century failure with Wildcat (Thunderbolt also has these as 21st century failures, Yanke Cannonball is the last classic woodie in New England. Sad to think about loosing those 2, along with Flyer Comet (2006) all after the turn of the century). If Gravity Group made the ride on par with Wooden Warrior than it's a good ride, but the classic still went defunct in 2017.

@@urbex_coasters I hear that Wildcat is now ridable. And to the GP that’s all that matters. I still feel the pain from riding it in 2021 if it’s fixed then hallelujah

Brother nobody cares about them rides, dino off road adventure was just a reskin of the older ride 💀

They've also removed Fireball and Kontiki in the last couple years too....and Harley Quinn has major issues they keep slapping band aids on

Absolutely. I've been saying this for years now. And removing Flashback is addition by subtraction IMO. What a pile of trash. Give us a launch coaster please

It's not that they have too many coasters. 6 or 7 of them are either generic or boring. As an investment, park companies have realized investments don't bring back huge returns. So, instead we get next to nothing year after year. The places that get huge ROI are the destination parks like Universal or Disney. Heck, even Hersheypark or Cedar Point see huge bumps with new rides. Places like Six Flags NE aren't on most people's radar.

Most of our beaches in Massachusetts and other parts of New England are very cold , as a native I thought the water was a bit cool at first but not freezing, , we are also used to colder weather. I'm curious to how people would react to Florida water temps .
