The Brigit tee is my all time favourite pattern. It has a special place in my heart as it was my first knit project ever and like 4th project ever overall. I have like 12 now and keep making more ❤❤
I just finished my second Brynn. I am petite from shoulder to bust. I too a half inch off front and back above the armscye and a half inch from the sleeve above the notches. Adjusted the front band by pinning it and seeing how much to take off. I also used snaps and did one higher up to make is not so booby. That plus that half inch worked great.
this is so great! I also love wearing jeans and tees; especially for my current job. And I also like wearing things that are a little more fun and interesting than just a plain tshirt. Will for sure look into some of these!
When I was working in an office my "uniform" was black dress slacks that were super comfy and a faux wrap sort of peplum shirt over a cami, and I had that shirt in like 4 different colors/prints. If only they had been natural fibers I would have been golden. Oh, and I'd often throw on a cardigan if I was under a vent.
Oh some great inspiration in there, I am definitely a "jeans and a nice tee" person! I've only ever seen the Iris in the short sleeve, I just love that 3/4 sleeve! My current favourite fancy tee ia the Frimas by Lise Tailor. The little sleeve ruffles are a sweet but not over-the-top detail.
I went through this elevated tee shirt binge last year. I accepted i don’t wear much in the way of woven top / shirts, and felt like a bag lady in the boring old tees i usually wear. I had mixed results with the Brigit Tee, the lining cut right across my bust on my trial one, so i fully lined the real one. It was just easier in the long run. I’ll put the Goldie on my list. The Iris is lovely. I’vecmade a couple of those too. It’s eye catching with that sleeve. The Sylvie with the cowl neck was nice. Flutter sleeves aren’t my thing either. Love the Brynn cardie you’re wearing, the button placket on yours is so tidy! I haven’t seen the Orlando before, i’m going to go look at that one. I love your selection of colours! You’re going to end up with such a good variety 😄 Have a look at Miranda from Tina’s Closet, that has a nice gathered section above the bust (tip! Add more gathers, it’s not as gathered as the photo IRL) Ray of Light from Pattern Emporium has a lovely ruched feature going up one side Brasov from Itch to Stitch is my current favourite tee. It’s so nice to wear! I think i’ve made it 4 times now.
Really enjoyed the subject matter and particularly the fabric observations. I wear T-shirts a lot in the winter too and experimented with pattern hacking a Tilly and the Buttons basic tshirt in 2020. You’ve inspired me to revisit the subject and am also investigate the cardigan options. Looking forward to hearing your conclusions!
Thank you for this inspiration! I am always trying to find ways to upgrade a basic tee. I haven't used any forget-me-not patterns yet. I'll have to check them out.
I can definitely relate to needing something that isn't so fancy that I won't wear it or too boring and I just feel blah. Most of us live in that in-between place and it's challenging to dress.
I'm with you on the patterned knits. I probably have a 10 to 1 ratio on solids to print knits. Sometimes knit prints seem like pajamas or children's cartoonish clothes. I love all the colors you chose as well. One of my favorite knit tops is the Love Notions Rockford Raglan. I sized down on my second one, but it's still a much looser fit than any of the patterns you showed today.
i love the look of the goldie! I'm definitely going to try it out soon. last year I used the technique from the agnes on a tee pattern that I already had and I love how it makes the top just a bit different. the colours of all your knits are lovely - especially the petrol and cerulean but also that green! i am a sucker for prints but I am working on utilizing more solids. I definitely want to do more full garments in rib knit (seamwork's latest video gave me some ideas).
I just discoverer your channel! I also like to find elevated tees. My favorite is the Adele top from Sinclair Patterns. I love the neckline on that one, though I always make it with a straight hem. For your scoop neck cardigan, I think it would be easier to take the v-neck cardigan pattern and change the neckline, as opposed to making a cardigan out of a pullover. Let us know how it goes!
That was super helpful. I, too, like solid tops in the winter. And want to try new patterns. I recently made a burgundy Brynn. What a wonderful pattern. I have 2 more cut out, and will close the front opening. Saves so much time. Where do you live? All your fabric shops you use are in Europe, so shipping is prohibitive for me as I am in California. Btw you look fabulous.
