Had it just been The Wellerman, it would have been enough Had it just been What Shall We Do With a Drunken Sailor, it would have been enough Had it just been Gilligan's Isle, it would have been enough Dayenu
Fun fact: You can also sing "Adon Olam" to the tune of Gilligan's Island. Same goes for "House of the Rising Sun" and "Chim-Chim-Cher-ee" from Mary Poppins.
@@pixling, Adon Olam fits dozens, if not hundreds, of tunes! I have even sung it to Sloop John B (Beach Boys - shows my age). Some of the best are Simon & Garfunkel's Scarborough Fair and Sounds of Silence.
I live in Nova Scotia, where we are quite partial to sea shanties. There are now several I will never think of in quite the same way!! "What shall we do with the middle matzah?!" This is just brilliant!! Thank you!
I honestly can’t help, but listen to this song on repeat. I managed to figure out how to play it on my piano by ear, however the key of the song changes 3 times. Was it a challenge? Yes. Was it worth learning how to play on piano? Most definitely yes.
I was testing Google Song Search by whistling the Theme from Gilligan’s Island and this was what popped up. ( made sense after I progressed past the other two elements of this adapted medley) Surprisingly pleasant listening to a superb a cappella production. Bravo!
Simply wonderful! I fell in love with your voices when "Bohemian Hanukkah" was recommended to me; have been a fan since then. Now I sing this shanty all day long! Shalom from Puerto Rico!
Awesome Passover Song with the Gilligan's Island theme song twist to it. I love it. You sing with such great joy! Happy Passover Day! Shalom! Six13 Family! And everybody!
It's no "Dayenu" or "Chad Gadya", but it comes in a close third. I'd eat TWO Hillel sandwiches to hear it again. And this is coming from a guy whose middle name actually *IS* Pesach (seriously).
@@nudnikjeff People in the know go to *Gadya Shack*. Tell the manager I sent you. He'll give you a deal. Or at least he'll TELL you he's giving you a deal. Bring your bubbie. Then he'll HAVE to give you a deal.
I love sea shanties, but I have to admit I don't recognize the one that starts off the whole shebang (and ends up with "Hey lads, the Seder's done"). Can you identify it?
Fantastic indeed! Tis me favorite song to date says I! Was a great adventure when we saw ye blokes several years ago in Southern California! Hope yer ship returns soon to be true!! Great Job!! HUZZAH!
I was listening to Bubbles Kitty Seashanty from Trailer Park Boys, and I still love Six13’s Passover version better than any other Seashanty. I love all of the stories about the faith.
Happy Passover!!! I absolutely loved this. I played flute in a local sea shanty virtual concert this month and my husband and I had an actual debate over whether the Gilligan’s Island theme counts as a shanty. It does! So thank you for putting that to rest. I love your videos and appreciate your creativity, especially during this time.
Sooooooo much fun!!!!!!!!! Shalom!!! I enjoy doing preparations for Pesach when there is music like this to listen to. I enjoy it anyway, but this makes it more fun. Thank you all for putting songs together for all our Holy days.
Thanks for making mine and mothers pre pesach and erev pesach cooking more exciting because you just made my dream come true I was for to turn the sea shanty into a Jewish sea shanty so thank you so much I love all you music but this is my most favourite song ever
As a Christian, I believe everything that was said in this video. I'm also a big sea of thieves fan and player, and I sent this video off to quite a few people I know of in the game. So far, we all love it. 🇺🇸🇮🇱🏴☠️
So crazy! Just recognized Shlomo Ressler at (2:26)! Miss that guy. Loved this song hearing it last year for the first time, and fell in love with it all over again just now.
This is delightful. My-son-the-folk-singer does mostly Celtic music and sea shanties, but also Hebrew, Yiddish and Ladino music on his RU-vid channel "The Foxy Bard." I've got to make sure he learns this Red Sea shanty in time for Pesakh.
