Maxey isn't good enough to build a team around. We saw how bad he and the team was without Embiid last season in both the regular season and playoffs. Our window is until Embiid declines and when Embiid declines we are cooked for a long time.

We meet again David and are close to being on the same page. David Jones would not have to be waived, but just demote him to a standard G-League contract via an Exhibit 10 summer contract if he will agree. Jones is listed as a 6'6" forward but the 24 combine has him at just 6'3.5" w/o shoes! Edwards is a legit 6.6" w/o shoes and a much bigger wingspan, besides being 2 years younger. Jones would not likely play for the Sixers this season, as a 2-way player, so why keep him as a 2-way? Edwards might have a shot later in season, if there are injuries. I still like 6'9" Keve Aluma, who will be 26 in December, but I believe can play in the NBA right now. We don't know if he rejected a 2-way offer from Morey, but a 2-way is his best chance if he wants to be an NBA player and not go back to the Korea league, where he dominates. He played 5 yrs at Virginia Tech. Aluma would be an athletic PF who can shoot and defend well. With Aluma, Sixers would be adequate at PF, in case Yabu is injured. TBH, Caleb Martin could go back to guarding big guards and especially after a successful KJM trade. I checked out Ibou Badji and he never took a 3 pt shot with POR in over 200 minutes. We already have Adem Bona who looks to be a more versatile defender and will get that chance to develop this season. Besides Yabusele can be a backup 5 when Joel rests, if Bona isn't ready. So could Aluma. Between Aldama and Eason, Tari would require much more draft capital to get HOU even interested. His contract however is ideal, making less than 6 M for 25-26. GG Jackson will be out at least until February, so Memphis is less likely to be willing to trade PF Aldama. Also we have to wait and see if Aldama is given an extension. If he ends up making more than 8 M for 25-26 that could make it much more difficult to use the t-MLE and stay under the 2nd Apron for next season. We need to watch 6'9"Jaylin Williams at PF this year as he might be a better fit next to Embiid than would Aldama. I don't know if OKC would be moved by more draft capital. Of course the trade of KJM has to wait until Jan 15. Spotrac is incorrect listing as Dec 15.

@@jerry25a thanks for your feedback. I agree that Ibou Badji is not versatile at all so I agree as I like that Aluma guy too. I just don't know if the sixers can trust Bona yet but I agree that Yabusele could play some small ball 5 perhaps but I just would like another Big on a 2way spot just in case so you may be right about a guy like Aluma. Or maybe a young Big with potential gets cut or something but see how it goes. I also agree try to get David Jones on the GLeague team if they replace his 2way spot. I forgot the CG Jackson guy got hurt & so the trade ideas are just up in the air for now but we will see how everything shakes out during the season & see how things go. I'm just really excited for this season bro. Let's go Sixers!

@@jerry25a or if not Aluma then what do you think about Malik Williams who last played on the Raptors I think. I also liked Olivier Sarr as a stretch Big but he is still recovering from an injury I think. Or Isaiah Mobley. Malik is like 6'11 250 with 7'3 wingspan & is a little athletic for a Center type so maybe he can also play some Power Forward too & he can shoot the 3 a little bit but he is not a maj or scorer or anything special but maybe just a serviceable kind of player perhaps. Or Pete Nance if he is a free agent for a 2way spot

Getting Eason for draft capital + KJM would make the Sixers championship favorites. Not just my opinion but others are thinking the same way.

Don't want to hear about players who have about zero chance to play a meaningful minute for the Sixers this season (lol). We are not the Brooklyn Nets, but are in championship mode. However the comment about overrated KJM Jr is worth talking about as there are some Sixers fans that think he is a significant asset. If not for the his small caphold (and lack of interest by any other NBA team) and Sixers owning his Bird Rights, he would still be an unsigned FA at this time. KJM was signed to a BLOATED (or Overpay but not Balloon) contract for 8 M. You can't really call it 16 M, since it is very unlikely he will see a penny of that for 25-26. It is NOT considered a Team Option, but rather non-guaranteed. The team that takes him after Jan 15, 2025 can keep him on the roster until Jan 9, 2026 and then waive him, without counting against the team Cap. Since no team will value KJM at more than a Vet Min, the only way he gets paid by his new team, is if that team uses him for trade matching purposes during the 25-26 season.
