Turns out this video is an homage to a french film which explains the end, the headstone she visited is the director of the film. I thought they filmed it in the most romantic city because the song is romantic
Yes, a beautiful homage to 'Jules et Jim', a Nouvelle Vague film by Francois Truffaut. It's his gravestone at the end which is in the Monmatre Cemetry in Paris.❤
Probably one of the most authentic love balads, singing it´s message in a most honest yet poetic manner. For those who lived in the countryside full of images which are part of anyone of our memories. Great Song!!!
yeah no the moodies the actor with oh darling you're almost part of me you're all i'll ever see blows away this song on the most authentic love ballad scale. iIn that true love brings an intimacy that you feel separation would be tantamount to removing your own right arm. this song's Kiss is passing affection.
This is an homage to the 1962 film Jules et Jim directed by the legendary Francois Truffaut, one of my favourite film directors, with almost identical scenes from the film. Truffaut's grave is at Monmartre Cemetry. Clouzot and Rivette's graves are also there with other famous artists. ❤
This is the clip I remembered, it was continuously played in MTV and VH1 Europe at the time. Amazing how a tune like this can take me emotionally almost 30 years back in time.
Both videos are official, except that the another video was heavily played on MTV after She’s All That was released in February 1999. While for this version, was released in 1998.
An all-time, music-video classic (Paris version #1). Great song by a solid band, based on a great film. How can one top that? And, musically, in addition to Nash's oh-so sweet voice (extremely feminine & compelling) is the driving, acoustic guitar. Chord choices & progression = striking. Amazing!! LL
I love this video version. I can imagine the moment when a music executive said, "fck François Truffaut and Paris, let's make a new video all about Dawson's Creek. You are going to sell out and make me also much money...damn, I said the quiet part out loud!"
Nice to see that a few scenes were shot in the Parc des Buttes Chaumont (a park in the 19th arrondissement). It has unusual and unique follies, bridges and other structures and landscapes. (And great views). Definitely worth a visit if you're in Paris (especially if you've already visited the more famous sites).
This will always be my number one favorite version. I still remember being a kid always singing and dancing to this song while replying the music video ❤😂
Shot in the style of one of the late great Francois Truffaut's films (Jules and Jim, I think) and then at the end, she throws a flower onto Francois' grave.
Lyrics ❤️ Kiss me, out of the bearded barley Nightly, beside the green, green grass Swing, swing, (swing, swing) swing the spinning step You wear those shoes and I will wear that dress Oh, kiss me, beneath the milky twilight Lead me out on the moonlit floor Lift your open hand Strike up the band and make the fireflies dance Silver moon's sparkling So kiss me Kiss me, (kiss me) down by the broken tree house Swing me, (swing me) upon its hanging tire Bring, bring, (bring, bring) bring your flowered hat We'll take the trail marked on your father's map Oh, kiss me, beneath the milky twilight Lead me out on the moonlit floor Lift your open hand Strike up the band and make the fireflies dance Silver moon's sparkling So kiss me Kiss me, beneath the milky twilight Lead me out on the moonlit floor Lift your open hand Strike up the band and make the fireflies dance Silver moon's sparkling So kiss me So kiss me So kiss me So kiss me
...SONG OF THE DAY!!!
When I went to Paris for the first time in 2005, I was asking my trade tour - where's the Metropolitain from the Kiss Me video? They were like: Oh you mean the "Subway" - LOL. Fortunately they knew about a weird stop that has all the Steampunk -stuff, and i went there, and THEN the Louvre.
This based on Jules el Jim (pardon my french). If your film student. This great film to get into French New Wave. This video is one that on Irish and UK on TV. I think this video encapsulates song better.
Atingere delicată, ca a vântului pe frunte sau ca a rujul cel mai frumos ce va exista vreodată, rujul zâmbetului de fericire, căci femeile fericite sunt cele mai frumoase
