A City like no other in the world, with the nicest and most generous people on earth. I say this as a bloke who has lived in Auckland, Johannesburg and London for extended periods. Lifts my spirits whenever I go there.

Great vid ! I grew up here (Aber st...4.12)...I was 10 yrs old at the time this footage was taken....just seems like yesterday.....such great memories of playing footy in the street and exploring the bombed houses and picking up discarded cigarette ends and ...well I'm still smokin' !
probably the best post on you tube..how life was..never to be seen again...and people were happier then..and everone was smart..we live in better places now..and to be honest...we are slovenly buggers
I recognise a few places here. Actually lived in Queen st, 64-65 and used the public baths. They were for people who had no baths to bathe in, or no hot water
It's an interesting video seeing what yesteryear was really like. Where did you get all the material from? What format / camera would they have used? Will there be any more?
I lived in Compton st for twelve years, left there in 1959 to go to Walton , then left Liverpool 1964 but still call Liverpool my home although watching bits on Instagram etc it does'nt even vaguely look like the same place.
