The couple who took one look at that first flat and said "mine!!" were smart. We all know how much our money can realistically buy. They knew this was going to be as good as it gets. Wishing them decades of happiness in their new life together ❤
Yes, so many times they see one they love and they take time to think about it and they lose it. I’m glad they acted fast! We also put in an offer on the first house we saw and got it!
I like to see it when a couple is in synch. It really annoys me when they want polar opposites. My partner and I discussed in detail what we both wanted, what we would give up and what we would pay before we even looked at houses. Bought the 2nd one we looked at. The first couple with a small budget were so cute and sensible. I thought the couple with the bigger budget might be too pernickety but that 3rd flat was gorgeous. They both did so well with their purchases.
I think anybody that has half a million dollars to spend on a house would be smart to get out of there and buy a mansion somewhere with less insane prices.
@@LadyIarConnacht It’s not that simple though, lol. They would have to find new jobs and be willing to give up the lives they have, especially if they’re moving somewhere completely different, like Sheffield, lol.
We inherited a ghost in our last house. She made herself known to us only a few weeks after we moved in. Bolted external doors swinging open, electrical cords pulled from sockets, doors slamming when she was upset. Yet every respectful to my teenage daughter who slept in her room. The ghost always knocked before entering the room when the door was closed, waited until my daughter said ‘enter’. Then the door would swing open. I did research on the past owners. Found out the house was owned by a spinster who died about 8 yrs before we brought it. Isabelle was her name. She inherited the house off her parents who built the house. She was lovely, she was wanting company. We had the house blessed before we sold, as we didn’t want the new owners to be haunted. We did tell the new owners just in case the blessing didn’t work. Fortunately they are British so were okay with the idea of a ghost.
@@Gil2727 That was exactly what I thought. Such a cat would probably be incredibly stressed having to move somewhere else. As long as the next owners love it, it will probably be okay. That said, an animal is a long-term responsibility and curtails personal freedom to an extent. The boyfriend didn't look too happy about it...
I offer my sorrowful condolences on the terrible accident that befell Phil's parents. On the side, Phil and Kristy are great antidotes in a crazy world. thank you both for your energy and visuals. and for the show!
Good job Krystie and Phil. Those first buyers were indeed brave to offer on the first place they saw, but when you know it's right, you just know. Congrats all around
Cats are very place oriented - it might be best for the cat. We moved about 6 miles with cats, but nearly all made the trek back to our former house (as reported by our old neighbors).
When I built a new house half a mile down the road, for the next year my cat would walk down to the old place and spend the day there every day, coming home for supper.
Maybe they leave it out of love for their cat, as it is clearly thriving there! Why stress the cat by moving it to ... well, we don't know where the sellers are moving to! - but perhaps to an apartment, without access to a garden, or to a house WITH access to a garden, and the possibility that the cat could be run over by a car. The cat will love its new owners too - and will thus avoid having to live with a screaming set of twins! ;-)
Unfortunately, they didn't feel like they needed a forever home at this point in their lives. Who knows what will happen in 5 years, maybe they might even be in another country. It's better to go for what one loves at the moment.
To me, one pair of trainers looks like every other pair of trainers (and they all look meh). They would have more money to spend on a home if Louie stopped self-indulgently wasting it on shoes. I hope he comes to his senses at some point. The flat the other couple chose was sublime. I'm not a fan of these huge kitchen diners, but everything else was gorgeous. I never saw such a colourful fireplace as the one in the main bedroom, and I loved it. As for the outside, I did not particularly like the bunker-like hedge in front or the dark fencing in back, but these are quibbles. Kitty cat adds to the value of the home, in my opinion. Definitely a selling point!
Everyone is upset over the cat. You have no idea what their reason are, could be a senior, moving into a non pet accommodation. The new young couple welcomed the cat. So, it all worked out.
@luguy8347 The presenter clearly said the seller was expecting twins & also there are toys in the lounge…. showing they have young child or two kids already.
Watched the episode and couldn’t figure out who Nicki reminded me of. Her mouth and voice remind me of Olivia Coleman. Update 🤣 watching episode 7 mo later. It’s Honeysuckle Weeks
The whole house purchase system in the UK is crazy - all this "chain" nonsense. You wouldn't buy a car and have to wait for a car purchase way down "the chain" to complete and seal your purchase. In North America, when you have an offer excepted and sign the sale contract and you are done - no chains, no confusion. So much simpler and less nerve wracking.
People who collect or hoard 'stuff' - even if they think it's valuable... definite turn-off. Just don't want to be around people who are addicted to having stuff. Life's too short to be enslaved to things.
Maybe not, but Kirstie is not trying to save up to buy a house. She can afford to spend on shoes, someone who has a tiny house-buying budget is just being immature.
@Figaro Hey! And? He might be under the closet, but I know really straight guys who like to collect sneakers. If there is space, woman or man, it shouldn't matter. It is like if we said something to a girl straight or not who loves to repair cars......
