@@omarg5647 I haven't tested that out yet, but search up "Redback UBBK "Easy Escape" Boots 6 Month Review" by LivingPacificNorthWest, he does a water test 8 mins into the video
@@An8thOfShrooms thanks for the suggestion and it shows that is water resistant only I check Amazon reviews and some of them say is only water resistant
Really appreciate this video. I'm a customer of 15 yrs? or more? and just ordered a new pair and wow..........it's an experience. Right from the start. Best boots/shore I've ever had on my foot.
Best boots ever. I've had a pair for 2yrs. Super comfy and soles have hardly worn out. The uppers I've given a hard time as work boots. I've tried all the makes over the years. Don't mess out just get a pair. Just get your size they will fit.
I Would love to see a video on the Sentinel HD. I’m curious about how the soles would offer nail puncture resistance. They look great, and seeing as I stand at the wood lathe for extended periods , the promise of comfort is very appealing . Thanks
For women buyers, just beware that the provided AU-US size conversion is actually a mess. It shouldn't be US -3 = AU (as stated in the video), or US-2.5 = AU (as shown in Redback official site), because if you do so it is guaranteed to be extremely tight. Unless you enjoy your feet being squeezed and confined all the time, you should go with the US -2 = AU sizing strategy (which is what Dr Marten sizing is, and note that UK size = AU size). Ironically the men's size conversion is accurate. I went through a very painful processes to figure out my size. Though the boots themselves are very comfortable, I am very disappointed to Redback not offering absolute cm-based feet size in their size chart, and messed up women size conversion.
Where can you buy the steel toe boot version with the toe cap protection in 0:11? A few places carry only the non toe-cap version only. Can you use mink oil to protect and waterproof the leather?
I mean...the website had all three sizes listed, Australia, US and Canada. Wasn't an issue at all. Just ordered some yesterday and I cannot wait to get my comfortable boots! Been wearing doc martins to work and they are giving me sore heals (plantar fasciitis). Rose Anvil said this was the most comfortable boot he's ever worn and helps with the soreness.
@@carthage7836 YES I DO! I wear them everyday! Made my foot pain completely go away and after a long 8-10 hour shift my feet still feel good to go. Seriously buy some! I will probably be wearing Redbacks for the rest of my life. I wish they had more stylish boots with the same comfort though. I got the easy escapes. Best boot I've ever owned. I recommend getting some moleskin to help break them in.
Good afternoon i purchased a pair of Nevada puma redbacks, my normal shoe size is a 9 so in redback i should be a 8 and the back of the boots are killing me.Is there a break in period or any advice for the back of the boot would be appreciated.
Just got mine yesterday and breaking them in. Half size up is perfect for my EE width. Love the look of these. Fashion question: am I ‘allowed’ to wear them with shorts? My family says no, I say absolutely yes! Love these so far👍🏻😎
Absolutely! In fact our upcoming 2021 catalogue will feature a fine young Canadian scaling down some BC granite wearing his Redbacks and Shorts! Made in Australia, Made for Canada!
I recently bought the 10.5 because I'm a us 11 wide but they just seem too small. I can feel the edge of rear insole under my heel. Don't know if it will loosen up or if I should purchase a Uk11.5 size?
I'm wondering when the boots with the chip guard or toe caps will be available in Canada. I'm a welder and need some new boots but wondering if I can wait for the boot with the toe caps will be available soon
Excellent video. By far the most detailed description on how the boots fit. Question if I may ask. I try the 5.5 soft toe Easy Escape. The length is fine but my heels come up a little bit when I walk. Should I get size 5 instead?
It’s called heel lift and it’s normal (within an inch or so) it slowly reduces as you break them in but should never completely go away. It’s an important part of the walking motion
I bought a pair of redback leather pull on boots to support local industry. However the boot itself was comfortable but the sole just fell apart. Poor quality heel tread material was used. . I hope they have made modifications by now. It didn't last very long at all.
They’re water resistant. They do make one model that’s “waterproof” but I’m not sure if that also means the elastic is waterproof. Typically these are submersible until the point where the elastic begins. That’s where the water will seep into the inside of the boot. That belying said, leather will soak in the water and eventually it’ll make its way into the boot through the sides as well.
Really want a pair of these, but I bought an expensive pair of Thursdays recent and had sizing issues, even after sending them back for another size. Online boot shopping is hit or miss. I’m an 11.5 D in Irish setters. And those are my current go to work boots. Anyone have any suggestions?
Please listen to this and not Reddit, mine are 3cm too long (11.5) since Reddit said size up for boots and size up for Redbacks, they still fit well and don't slide but I'm a little concerned cause I'm still breaking them in and unsure if the (unsuited) arch support will continue hurting my ankles and heels I took the gamble and listened to Reddit since they're usually right when it comes to random things like this, also I have other shoes that are 11UK and are a little small but also 9 which fit perfectly (both similar Nike models)
could someone help me with sizing? I usually wear size 9US for sneakers (vans size 9 is my perfect fit, or converse size 8.5). I've worn a pair of blundstones size 8AUS because that is the recommended size for size 9US but it was way too roomy for me and ended up selling them. Do the redbacks fit the same? Thanks for anyone's time and reply!
Really? I have done a lot of research on these boots since I'm on my feet all day and need a comfortable yet durable boot. Almost every review, forum, and video talks about their durability. Most of the reviews are from blue collar workers that use them everyday and they say they last for several years. Maybe you got a defect?
My son is a Paramedic and has problems with his feet. These boots solve that problem, how or where can he buy them from Canada. "Redback Safety Boots uscb2s Cobar size 11 Men's AU/UK"
Hi Gordon, so glad to hear that Redbacks have helped your son! Our boots do offer incredible support. And look good to boot! At this time we only offer the pull-on series in Canada. But good news is that these offer all of the support and cushioning that the Cobar does, and they are CSA approved, built for the Canadian market.
Just got a pair and wore them on a hike (first time wearing them) and they gave me blisters on my heel. I'm hoping this is just part of the break in process. Is this typical? the length/size seems to be appropriate.
If you are a 10.5 in Redwing (US sizing), I would guess that you are closer to a 9.5AU (Aussie sizing). Best advice would be to get fit up at one of our Canadian retail partners. Check out our dealer locator on our site at redbackboots.ca
@@redbackbootscanada8348 Redback boots half sizes any longer in the toe area? Or are they just wider? I order a 9 Redback boot and it’s just a little to short but width is perfect, should I go to the size 10?
@@masonhill4065 the problem with anything going from a US half size to a Redback size is that there isn't a match. Half sizes in the US are longer then the whole sizes as well as wider but the Redbacks are just wider. So a US 10.5 will be longer then a Redback 9 or 9.5 but shorter then their 10 or 10.5
Are you looking for a certain size/style that is unavailable? We have been trying to keep up with demand in Canada (even through the pandemic). Let us know what you are looking for and we can see if we can help you find it at one of our retailers.
Sizing doesn't make sense. So if I am a half size US, like say a 10.5 US and your telling me that the UK sizing is 1 size lower, that would make it a 9.5 UK. Then your telling me that a 9.5 UK is just a 9 UK, just wider. That would mean that I am going from a 10.5 US to a 9 UK, a 1.5 size difference. So basically the 9.5 UK is the size I would get if I was a 10 US (wide). How the heck does this make any sense? Should I instead size it as if I am an 11 US and get the 10.5 UK???
Like Blundstones you need to wear them regularly to keep the bottom from deteriorating. When you walk on them, it pushes the microbubbles out of the treads which build up. Mine have lasted years.
Redback boots are rubbish. I had a new pair that totally failed after three days use in the bush. The heel and sole came apart, leaving me stranded...that heavens for fabric tape. In my experience you cannot trust these boots to be reliable.
