I visited my first Sizzling Summer event at the Southern California Railway Museum in Perris, California, and would love to share the experience with you.

That Santa Fe 108 that the conductor was speaking of wasn't built in the early 70s, but in fact 1967. Otherwise, great show!

I've always liked the old Santa Fe color schemes, especially to super chiefs. On the east coast, we had the Chessie System paint schemes which looked very good. There ae a couple of other older railroads such as Soo which had there red. This is great stuff. Love how you do your presentation.

@@LisaKEntertainment I'm up in the Fredericksburg area, near the old RF&P line. North Carolina? Then you've heard of the Saluda Grade. Just like the old Donner Pass, it's a pity they don't run trains there anymore.

Hey, I understand, it's the old show-biz saying: "Always leave 'em wanting more!" 🤩 Anyway, you covered a lot of ground in those eight minutes Lisa, from those classic cars to that unique wig-wag crossing signal. By the way, I remember guys driving cars like that when I was in high school but they weren't classics yet, they were bombs! Oh, I feel so old! Looking forward to part two! Thanks for posting!

Great job! And kudos for showing respect for safety barriers, etc. Fans who skirt fences and otherwise put themselves at risk are the bane of museums and tourist railroads. You have super style!

@@alandaters8547 Thank you! I did ask and take heed of what was okay with when to cross the tracks etc. As another conductor there said, and as I think I said to John, safety first! Speaking of, there’s a big train safety event end of September at Union Station in L.A.

@@LisaKEntertainment Another great museum is called Travel Town in Griffith Park. All the displays are static but there is a good representation of steam. Some of the steam engines you can actually climb into via stairs gives you a view what the Engineer and Firemen saw. Another idea for you is the Spencer railway museum of Spencer North Carolina. Nearly all of their engines are fully operational and is worth a see. Thanks for the Reply too!

It was the OERM for decades, they changed the name to expand the scope to the entire region, but everything looks pretty much the same. The surrounding area sure has changed though, it used to be way out in the country with nothing else around for miles. By the way, the FP45s were built in the 1960s. Not quite as pretty as the iconic warbird F units, but still a very striking and unique locomotive. Next time you’re out that way you might also consider a visit to the Orange Grove museum in Riverside. I’m not sure if that’s the actual name but it IS an actual small orange grove. Not really train related other than that the orange harvest used to all be shipped by rail. It is a cool look back at our local history when the railroads were at their peak and the entire area was filled with miles and miles of orange groves.

@@Vector_QF8 Thank you so much. I started editing nearly twenty years ago… still trying to find ways to manage my day and process to not feel so drained by it. Filming / interacting with folks while on my feet exploring is energizing and much preferred. Perhaps you’re an editor, as well? Then you know how cutting at one frame versus another can have such an impact. I love music, and dance, professionally, and sing… And a soundtrack can also make such an impact on how someone experiences something. I like Latin music a lot. And blues and country and rockabilly, Americana… lots of genres I happily get to integrate into these episodes ☺️

@@LisaKEntertainment Hi Lisa, thanks for the response! My original comment was spurred when you were walking by train signals, and the music kept me glued. I was thinking that most people would walk by a signal or a sign let alone film them, but the music just brought the viewer in 🙂 I envy your creative flow. I'm sitting on several train-related drone videos I made because I want to do them well. Editing can be tedious, and adding music will make them much more viewable. So respect! Hey, I'm into music, too. I have to learn an 18-song set on my bass for an event in October. Wish me luck, lol!

Hey Lisa, thats a lovely hat you were wearing today. Those classic cars and trains are a real beauty to look at. I’m currently staying at Sydney in the Darling Harbour area. They do have a powerhouse museum there featuring a bunch of old steam trains however the venue is currently going through some renovations and won’t be reopening to the public until 2027 which is a shame. At least their maritime museum was open for me to look at. And a about 8 hours i’ll be going to a Nintendo Live Event where Marios original voice actor will be intending and hosting a live qna plus an actual meet and greet where i can go take a few photos with him. Anyways, i look forward to seeing part 2 of your own trip. Take care! xoxo

I hope you found the beautiful union pacific streamliner E7 engine and passenger car consist. It's a beautiful yellow engine. It was in one of the museum buildings.
