I so agree with you. I was lucky enough to be offered the baguette and turned it down. I adore Tiffany blue (our nails are almost the same color) but I have a hard time thinking of how that color would work with in my wardrobe. I am also so shocked that the silk version was the same price as leather. I cannot imagine paying 6K for silk but to each their own. It is beautiful though!
A great video as always. I feel the same about the recent Yayoi Kusama collab with LV. All nice pieces but none that match my aesthetic. I have no doubt 2023 will bring us a bag (who are we kidding, bags) that we do want.
I didn't know about the SJP collab. I'd seen it but didn't realize that's what it was. I'm not a fan either. I like them at first glance but less on closer inspection. I do love the Tiffany pieces and would enjoy having the nano baguette in satin or leather. Wow, that crystal Marc Jacobs bag! I hope you get your hands on one so I can live vicariously through you. That bag is incredible!
I liked the purple one. But once I saw the price. Inner me said, you don’t really like it that much anyway lol. Plus if you really wanted it, you would go with the OG purple sequin.
Ok so I finally looked properly at the Baguette in London recently. I was pleasantly surprised that in person they are actually a lot more luxurious to the touch than they look on photos. They also had the Tiffany collab available to look at. They are beautiful but not one I would look to purchase . I don't really like the SJP ones either so if I were to finally invest in Fendi then I would definitely go for the regular baguette size in the leather version - maybe in the Sea Foam which you have influenced me towards!
I agree with all your points. I'll be waiting for the MJ drop as well...my SA said it's May here in the US. I'm after the mini that you mentioned and I love the maxi baguette that says "The Baguette" on it, so edgy. Can't wait! 🤗
The SJP ones I think are stunning but I see your points and how many sequin baguettes does one need 😉 I absolutely love the satin Tiffany 💙 if I could I absolutely would 😊
I thought SJP looked ghastly at that runway show. She wore an outfit which didn’t flatter her, but allowed the accessories to shine. I liked the accessories.
You have beautiful baguettes already and don’t think your collection will miss not having one of these (as much as I love the Tiffany blue leather !). Are the buckles interchangeable on a non SJP baguette ?
Ithink the SJPx FEndi are very cheap looking , i do not now, it just does not work for me , but the TIFFANY&CO X FENDI OMG i love the colour so much 💙💙💙💙💙 thanks for sharing ,💕💕💖💝
I ordered the leather tiffany blue baguette and I’m really excited about it. Blue is my favorite colour and silver is my favorite kind of hardware. The SJP ones are not really my vibe but I’m excited to see how others style them. I think the multiple buckles are what threw me of completely. I think it’s kinda gimmicky but that’s just my opinion. Great video as always ❤
The larger silver baguette with backpack modification gets my vote for the most versatile and potentially enduring statement piece. Avert your eyes Dayle!
Thanks for sharing Dayle! not a fan of any of them tbh especially the Tiffany. I find the Tiffany blue very jarring and not in a good way plus I think for most people a very difficult colour to wear or match with outfits. Looking forward to the Marc Jacobs collaboration, he's an actual fashion designer with a long history of designing bags unlike SJP or Tiffany.
Yes, he brings a level of Sophistication to the collection and after watching the video I shared here I have an even greater appreciation for the detail!
I LOVE Tiffany blue but both the silk & leather baguettes look very plain to me that is why I went with the sequins one! From a photo, I really liked SJP’s baguette but just like you and when I noticed it looks like snake skin and it is very shiny I passed! Great video x
Yay for sequins and texture, I think for really bright bags texture softens the block colour and makes it more wearable - even sequins!! Congratulations on your beautiful bag!
I have managed to snag the Tiffany leather Baguette in Pre-sale but now I have to wait months!!! I’m definitely glad I went for the leather though. All the hardware is actual sterling silver on the bag, the buckle the clasps….so I can see why they are that sort of cost, especially with you quoting the cost for a run of the mill buckle…astronomical prices…I’m shocked. The Tiffany blue colour is stunning, who cares what else you’re wearing when you throw a piece like that on 😂. I too, like the MJ sequin/sparkle bag 🤩….I’m not into the written words of his other take on the baguette….you know its a baguette…you don’t need to physically brand the style on the bag haha just my opinion…i get that the typography is his staple…but no I wouldn’t want to spend money on it x
Snakes texture 😂😂😂 Sorry but that tickled me Dayle I think they are horrendous and while the Tiffany satin baguette is beautiful , it reminds me of a cosmetic bag and I don’t like or rate Tiffany items either xx
I think Tiffany ruined their reputation as a luxury brand many years ago and now that LVMH own it they might bring it back…. It’s a shame it had such prestige
Loved this video!!! So many good points made! 👍When I first heard that there was going to be a Fendi x SJP collab I was actually excited because I am, too, very nostalgic about Carrie and SATC. Then I saw photos of those bags and remember being kinda disappointed when I read they’re just exotics-lookalikes made of tiny sequins. And this is coming from a person that loooooves sequins almost pathologically. In addition to that, I personally don’t like the way the gradient was done. I remember thinking “those bags look like they have their period… 😝 So, in a nutshell, it was a quick No for me (and I think they're overpriced). They should have added non-matching buckles to spice things up. That would have been quite cool.🥶 Regarding the Tiffany collab I think it is actually gorgeously made and I maybe would have chosen the satin baguette, but then again, it’s satin, it will not “age” well and will get dirty pretty quickly. Hence I said No to this too. And, in my opinion, the Nanos are overpriced for what they are, though VERY cute (and I couldn’t care less about the metal details being silver, tbh). The packaging is spectacular indeed. For those, like me, who absolutely love this shade of blue, they could choose the classic Fendi leather baguette in this color that is available in boutiques right now. No, it’s not part of the collab, BUT the color is gorgeous. End of novel.
I do love the colour of the Tiffany blue and that it comes with the Tiffany sterling silver hardware but just not a colour for me and my wardrobe. The leather is may favourite though. Now the SJP I don't like at all. I didn't like it from the start but after seeing it so close up from what you just showed I dislike it even more. To me it looks cheap. All I can see now is cheap faux snake. That's saying a lot for a 11k bag but it is just not enticing at all. She could have done so much better. Like you said stick to shoes SJP not bags. Thank you lovely Dayle for this video. Thoroughly enjoyed it as I do all your videos. Happy Sunday! Much love. Jenni. XX
It’s a tough one to articulate and it took me a while to figure it out. Because I love some pretty ‘ugly’ bags myself, but we’re all drawn to different things and that keeps it interesting!
excuse me, the baguette buckle is HOW MUCH?!!!!! It is a very well crafted hefty piece of metal in their plain-er versions but reader, I AM SHOCKED! The bleached jacquard denim baguettes Marc did are so good (and Loïc Prigent just released his youtube mini doc about about the collection if anyone is interested)
I've been feeling blue about having my Tiffany blue leather nano canceled. However, I think I'm going to get the regular Blue leather baugette with the gold hardware which is cheaper than the Tiffany nano. Think I'll get more usage out of it. It will match my 1956 T-Bird. Lol. I don't care for the SJP versions at all.
Love this content of why you are not a fan of some releases. In the madness of luxury purchases, sometimes we need views from different angles. I was dying to get the Tiffany baguette but could not get my hands off i. Then I thought maybe it is not a bad thing. Like you I don't think the color will work for me. I have a tiffany blue Chanel bag which I rarely use because the color just not matches a lot of my outfits. Also, I used to buy Tiffany a bit when I was younger but I have not bought anything from the house in the last 10 years so I think I am not a fan anymore. Having said that, i think Tiffany has got a new direction after it was bought by LVMH and I may love brand again in the future. The tiffany x fendi cross over is definitely making me rethnk about the brand.
Thank you - yes I think there will be a refreshing new era for T&Co soon and perhaps we all might fall for it. For now… it’s just a brand I don’t buy…. But I respect it.
I rrrrrreally dislike the Tiffany blue, and satin has always had a connotation of outdated and cheap in my aesthetic association (unsure why), so it’s a hard pass for me. I can appreciate them for what they are, however they aren’t for me. It’s also a no to the SJP collab. #sorrynotsorry 😂 Thanks for sharing your thoughts on these ones!
The SJP ones are absolutely not for me, but I LOVE the Tiffany&Co ones - not matter if silk or leather (but would go for leather, cause it‘s not that delicate and they retail at the same price here). I do have a soft spot for T&Co 🤍
It’s not for me either Dayle. I don’t care for anything in any kind of snake. I love the mirror Baguette but not the snake that’s on it. I love SJP But I don’t love her design.
Hee hee yes it’s pretty polarising for sure. If anyone was picked doe a SATC collab it should have been Patricia Field the costume designer who put the looks together!
Collabs just don’t do it for me. I like it when Fendi get creative with what they already do so well. I’ll 🙏 to the allocation gods for you for the mini sparkly mj 😊
Kinda glad to see you’re not interested in the Tiffany/Fendi collab…thought it was just me 😆. Oh but nice nails, would you say they are Tiffany blue? 😉
There not for me, I do wonder how the Tiffany hardware will hold up, I have quite a lot of Tiffany jewellery and if you don’t wear it it tarnishes quite bad and quickly ❤
@@DaylesAddiction They look PLASTIC! That's OK for Dolly, she's a smart woman and knows what she's doing dressing like the local lady of the night (which is what she actually admitted to modelling herself on, those women being the ultimate in sophistication to her eyes way back then and in the boondocks). But we're not marketing ourselves to sell records and whip up publicity: we. have. a. choice! Don't get me started on SJP. Let's just say I'm not a fan of her acting nor her taste... Kim Cattrall stole the limelight from her and the others because quite frankly she was not only radiant, but also a gifted actor doing the Marilyn Monroe thing for her character. And as MM said: it takes a lot of brains to look that dumb. MM = IQ 150+ SJP = a waste of space IMO. So that's today's opinion download.
@@DaylesAddiction I don't know if you have seen this.... ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-q43X6s5WrLI.html All I can say is the Tiffany blue does NOT suit Bella Hadid, she has yellow undertones to her skin, they manage to make her look AWFUL!
But I LOVE the faux shearling top black with the bicolour zip, at about 21.42. It looks very good, and I think the best foil for the Tiffany blue has to be black.
Hi Dayle! I decided against the Tiffany baguette for 3 reasons. First, it's too expensive. Second, I am not a light blue person and honestly don't think I would wear it very much. Third, I'm a little frustrated that the so-called "limited" 25th anniversary baguettes are still available for purchase online and hence, they're not so special or limited after all. The tiffany baguette is pretty and I second guess myself when I see reveals, but I think I made the right decision.
Thanks Dayle this was interesting! For me the SJP baguette has the ick. It’s lacking in structure sits quite thin and flat but weirdly stiff rather than slouchy like other baguettes. And ombré?! This is up there with the Skims collab. Tiffany baguette ugh. Even the crocodile - what a waste of diamonds and croc. (The Marc Jacobs sparkly mini yes yes yes!) Why does Fendi make so many poor choices on collabs? I suspect I might have unpopular opinions on this - Versace is on my ‘does not complement the Fendi brand aesthetic’ list and I’m struggling to think of a collab by Fendi that I liked…. 🧐
Yeah it’s interesting, I find them really intriguing but not commercial - I wouldn’t buy them and I’m not sure why. They just seem a bit too much’, like there is no subtlety. I think the Marc Jacobs pieces that walked the runway were awesome but the December drop was hideous as is the lunar NY drop.
