TONE RH3CH and RH3CHS are also compact options 👍🏼 they are only about $30 each on Amazon. They say Japan on them but I believe the ratcheting head is Taiwanese and the handles are then stamped in Japan.
@@ballinator I have that one as well! I like them but need a little breaking in. I may be spoiled from having so many Koken ratchets but the Tone does have a little bit of backdrag to actuate the next tooth but they definitely aren’t the stiffest I’ve ever used. For the price I think they’re worth it.
You definately need to get a WRIGHT Tool 3430, the contour grip is awesome plus they also offer the 3440 flex head. The head is a little bigger than their 2426 and probably the same head size as the slightly bigger 2490 " high strength 1/4 ratchet, but it's still smaller than the S•K.
@@ballinator It's my favorite grip. I will admit though that while I really love my 2426 ratchet, the grip on the 2435 flex handle and the 2495 flex head ratchet ( same handle forging ) does feel a bit better because it's a little bit fatter. If they beefed up the 2426 handle to match the dimensions of the flex handle and flex head ratchet it would be absolutely perfect instead of just nearly perfect.
SK lore would be interesting. They were already a fading brand by the time I became a professional, but I've always enjoyed using their US manufactured tools.
You've got a great perspective on tools, I don't personally use 3/8 drive a lot but I'm sure I will in the future and I will keep your ideas in mind! Off topic, but I was looking at a pair of SK 8 inch slip joint pliers, they seem to have a deeper angle in each jaw. Very different from what I typically see, I might consider getting them.
Check out the Proto J5248S classic pear head 1/4 ratchet that is 3/8! It’s a better design because you can put a finger on the center of the head. Made in the USA and affordable 🇺🇸
