Thanks for a great selection. I grew up on the Chiltern Hills in rural Bedfordshire, 35 miles North of London. There was an AM pirate radio station that played all these great tunes and all the new Jamaican imports for a couple of hours on a Sunday afternoon in the 1970s. I used to go to the woods with my transistor radio, where the reception was better, and dance my ass off under the trees while dreaming of of one day visiting Jamaica. I've not made the pilgrimage yet but will no doubt make a dent in my retirement fund soon.

I remembered when this songs was released on independence August 6th 1962,I was a schoolboy dancing 💃 to it when Derrick Morgan was singing it. It sounds like it just the other day, Prince Buster 🤴 he and Derrick Morgan useto ruled Jamaica 🇯🇲 in 1960s musically wise.These is the kind of music I grow up on,nice 👌 songs will never grew old at all.

So did you get any of that gold cup, I grew up n saw my Great grandma with. She says she got it during Jamaica s Independence. 1962, my mom maybe not even knew what it would take to get her pregnant. Lol. Thank you for listening and I'm glad I bring back the music of the day to you. I will certainly do another So Explosion 2 .I never knew a mix like this would be so popular. Can I believe it ..it's nearly 60 + years since these recordings came out.

The small children them get the aluminum cups and, the big children get the glass cups with the Jamaica 🇯🇲 coat of arms on it. So anyone tell you that they give away any gold cups, that is not true and. You see how you asked the question very rude, if I get any of the gold cup. You see that you are very, very much erratic, you don't know how to asked a question. Which school. 🏫. you have been to, it seems like you didn't too well in school at all. I know the tendency of the younger generation in Jamaica 🇯🇲,they doesn't even respect their own parents. So how they are going to respect anyone else, that is why some of them is not living off their days. Because they are very, very rude, I was displeased by the way were talking 👄 to me. I am wondering if it is the same way you talked to your parents, I am retired after working 48years. So I am not looking for a job again, so I am not worrying about anything as such.

I don't see the reason for your anger and bitterness that you displayed by me asking a simple question. Your bitterness is simply cyber bulliism. My reason for asking the question, was that all along I thought these cups were given to most Jamaican in 1962. Its in my humbliest opinion, that you either over read, misunderstood or maybe was just having a bad day. The good book says, soft answer turneth away wrath, ... grievous answer stir up anger. How on God's earth could I try to find out from a senior citizen what took place before I was born and that person in respond is questionting my literacy capabilities? Your outburst has me thinking that mentally your are unstable..This is the first time I have ever respond to a rude text on the internet. Any well thinking individual would agree with me that your outburst is unwarranted. I think you should apologize which I truly accept. Have a good day.

You will never see anymore singers, like these in Jamaica 🇯🇲 or the world again. All these songs brought 🔥 memories to me, I remembered in the 1960s also 70s. This bring back memories of me and my grandma fluffy top cornmeal pudding baking outside, fire a top fire a bottom , rice and peas a cook fish a fry under the ackee tree pan de hoodfire yess , and me and her dancing to and singing these music on sundays , we had fun , sadly she went in 2018 feel like a month or so (may her soul rest in perfect peace ), but i have all these things and more to remember her , thank you for this mix the best , big up yoself

What a nice Jamaican story. I came after these music, but I can recall the Sunday afternoon baking of either Toto or Cornmeal or even Potato puddings . We would get piece of it on a Sunday night for dessert. and Monday morning for our breakfast with a hot cup of cholate tea. Glad you enjoyed this mix and I enjoyed your Jamaican story
