i'm sitting here looking at a factory box for my suburban and wondering if it would help any to fiberglass the outside of it? would it help? it seems like these boxes are quite thin.. I also plan to put another 8 or a skar evl-6.5 in the console. not a ridiculous bass but enough to fill the truck with some bump.
This is what i want to do in my suburban just ordered a ct sounds 300.1 amp now im debating on either this one or mb quart discus 8", how do you like this one so far?
I have the same set up for my Tahoe but I can't seem to get the speaker to the fit in the box. The diameter of the speaker is slightly bigger than the hole in the box. Did you have to do any modification to the box to get the speaker to fit properly?
Any modifications on the enclosure?because I want to purchase the same sub but the depth is more then 5 inches and I know the stock enclosure is only 3 or 3.5 inches if I'm right, what about the cover?
What I did do was add a piece of wood over hole enclosure to make sure magnet didnt hit bottom...man to be honest it would be just better to throw a 12 or 15 box in back if u looking for real sound..I just did it this way because it's my work truck
00-02 only have the sub in the rear 03-06 have it in the center console, but a quick trip to the local junk yard and Walla you got yourself a box if it's a 03-06 it bolts right in place did it to my 04 Burban
