One of the coldest scenes in this film is when Kong throws him he talks his apes to stop, he smiles laughs and grabs the crystal almost like he’s saying “I like you, your strong, now let’s see how you do against my pet”
I loved how everyone were asking, "Why is he the main villain in the new film?" And saying King Ghidorah, Godzilla, and other monsters could easily destroy him. And making videos of Godzilla Villains Now VS Godzilla Villains Then. Until now we saw at the theaters, Skar King is literally cruel, sadistic, and greedy of power. That he abused, tortured, and executed the Kongs that makes them fear Skar King. And have the whole ape army that would take over the surface, and controls and abuse Shimo that is one of the oldest titan that ever lived, and the only titan probably fears Godzilla. He's a combination of Scar and Koba.

@@empireofsrivijaya1084 No. Skar King: -Enslaved & malnourished his own kind -Abused the female apes -Captured & Controlled the first titan with incomprehensible pain -Provoked the Great Titan war -Almost killed Kong -Killed suko’s caretaker -Attempted to end humanity with a 2nd global ice age Ghidorah, despite being sadistic, was just an extremely territorial alien that wanted to shape earth to his liking. He may be more powerful but his overall goals and accomplishments hardly compare in malice.
Coming back from watching the movie, this guy is already one of my favorite monsterverse villains if not also one of my favorite titans and Kaiju The amount of cruelty this guy was is enough to have him eat at the same table with Ghidorah and Destoroyah
Bro was menacing at first but after Kong flipped him on his back and then getting repeatedly bodied throughout the rest of the fights he lost his intimidation, at that point he was a bum to me, but ghidorah on the other hand actually ran everyone's fade and won most of the time, but Skar king was underwhelming for me, Ghidorah was the real threat to earth in my eyes.

Skar King is the classic villain where it happens to me the: I like the design, the music, he has a surprising charisma and a fantastic presentation... But... his time on screen and content ends up feeling shorter than it should, and because of his abilities and power scale he ends up losing some presence in the final act That's why Ghidorah still seems to me to be by far the best antagonistic force in the Monsterverse, because he has all the good things but in addition to that a perfect presence, but I think I give Skar King a good Top 2
No but he does like power like he wasn’t afraid of Godzilla when he arrived on Hollow earth because as long as he has his whiplash connected to the crystal and the axe he felt too confident to destroy him all in one stroke.
Honestly no matter how underwhelming he ended up to be, I hoped Skar King would be in more than one movie since he was hyped like he would be a serious threat to the titans. He was still a badass and unique villain for sure
Im honestly really pleased that we're getting a blend of originals and classics coming back for the villains. Skar King and Shimo, the Mutos and Ramarak standing alongside Rodan, Ghidorah and Mecha G
What made Skar King so menacing is that he was so human like. He reminds me of Azog The Defiler from The Hobbit movies, who was also considerably more human looking than the other orcs. The same way Azog looks like a Skinhead, Skar King with his balding head and ginger beard looks like an 1800s slave owner (he reminds me of the sadistic slave driver played by Walton Coggins in Django Unchained). Matter of fact, if these monsters could talk and had voice actors, I think Dwayne Johnson would be a great Godzilla and Idris Elba would nail it as Kong. Walton Coggins would've made a great Skar King and Cate Blanchett as the voice of Shimo. The soundscape is incredible, I do not think Junkie XL deserves all the hate. If he had his entire army of apes with him he could indeed be a world ending threat.
They did a great job capturing your typical bully. All big bad and heartless, but a coward the moment something goes even slightly against them. Even as a lover of villains, I find Skar King easy to hate. Stupendous job. Haven't been this satisfied to see a villain die in a while.
@@nahulseyon997 He's a coward. The moment something goes wrong, he runs to Shimo. Even the wiki acknowledges it. He's just a bully. He's not an impressive or fun villain like King Ghidorah. He's just a jerk you want to watch burn.
I believe the skar king should be approved as pure evil, for causing the war against godzilla and kong and for mistreating shimo and killed suko's mother
Honestly I agree, even if he doesn't have as much internal resources as Ghidorah, let alone the same supernatural strength as him, he still stands out for borderline enslaving fellow great apes, abusing Shimo with the crystal to carry out his orders, and literally pushing an ape into lava right infront of Suko after he was told to spare that boy from being knocked into next Tuesday, goddamn. The monke may be no alien menace, but he makes the most out of his resources.
Even then, He probably find a way to enslave ghidorah himself! Just the image of Scar King enslaving a threeheaded monster.....What's God to a non believer indeed.
This definitely took a long time to get warmed up to, something I also happen to notice is that I think Skar King's presence is felt a lot through the movie, based off the description you have there, kinda like Drago in HTTYD 2, yet not fully revealed until the end or the middle. From this theme though, he is definitely going to be a force to be reckoned with. Can't wait to see the movie.
The moment that made my friend loose it in the Theatre was when Skar King and shimo arrive at the surface and skar King acting triumphant like "I'M BACK!" Grapped his whip and when Commanding shimo to begin the new Ice age posed with the whip like he was gonna play air guitar with it, my friend lost it at that small moment and im right there with him
Not going to lie, Skar King is a good villain, but he never felt like a particularly threatening villain by the end of the movie. He felt like a bully, but that is about it considering I never really felt like him with only himself and his weapon was a threat to Kong, let along the G-man. More a pain that would've been overcome in a straight fight.
My expectations for skar king weren't much so watching the movie I was surprised he had an actual personality and lived up to his description too bad the chances of him returning are basically 0% for obvious reasons
Let's nit forget Skar's tooth lost in Rio. I doubt some mad scientist will make inhuman experiments with Skar's DNA to built their biological weapon, clones or worst.
SK is proof that you don't have to be physically imposing to be intimidating. Easily the best Monsterverse villain so far, even better than Ghidorah imo
I feel like if they'd kept Bear Mccreary as the composer he would have absolutely cooked and made some awesome tribal sounding theme for Skar King, because it feels like we could have got more musicwise from the skinny, evil, red gorilla
I’m saying it. Star king is the “BEST” villain in the monsterverse. When I first saw him in the cinema I was amazed on how sinister, how evil, how twisted he was. I hope the villains in the upcoming MonsterVerse films are just as evil as.... The Skar King.
I love the part that goes from 2:54 to 3:18 it's like the theme of Skar King being victorious, like he's killed both G and K and now he rules the surface
The writers weren't intending to write another strong villain, but just pure villain. And they nailed that, the main threat was Shimo of course, but the one behind that powerhouse is an evil mastermind that is Skar King. A villain doesn't have to be strong, a villain just has to prove their villainess
I'll always be the biggest Ghidorah simp on the planet, but I loved Skar King as an antagonist. I know a lot of people were disappointed with him, but I do enjoy the concept of maintaining power outside traditional means like brute strength. He's the example of why we, as humans, rule above all other animals despite our fragile bodies and lack of natural weapons. Our intelligence and numbers are what makes us dangerous. Skar King embodies this concept perfectly. Yeah, he alone would never be a threat to Godzilla or other kaijus we've seen. But he found a way to enslave the most powerful titan we know of, one that could have simply folded him like a lawn chair. Even without Shimo, he was still a good hand-to-hand combatant. And his personality? Pure evil, ruling through fear, and had his own harem of unwilling females. Just a textbook evil shit with no redeeming qualities, how can anyone not like him? And the score when he's finally introduced as he stands lazily on the edge looking down at, and on, Kong, goes HARD. Thanks for sharing!

@@lsnorlax9653 Well, seeing as he’s dead, it will be hard to utilize him at all going forward. I get that a prequel is possible, and I’d LOVE to get an entire movie of the Titan War, but I really want to see if become an arch enemy to Kong. Kong doesn’t exactly have a Batman-level rouges gallery.
Oh, you know movies; "We managed to retrieve a part of Skar King's brain that was undamaged and needed the neural connectivity to run our mecha because computers weren't powerful enough. Lets turn the robot on in the middle of a crowded city to test it now!"
He was more like Kong's Gigan than Kong's Ghidorah: lots of means and weapons, sadistic and brutal, likes to surround himself with minions, but definitely not as awe-inspiring as Ghidorah. Just spank his ass a few times and he runs and hides. Just like Gigan.
