it makes so much sense that you can't pick up a rock and then ult because you use your tails to hold the rock, but you also use your tails to hold people with ults. sure, he has three tails now, but he uses all three to hold the very large rock. i enjoy the consistency of that.

I would think, in a purely intuitive level, that skarner would make the best use of AP bruiser items out of anyone. His Q and E scales with HP after all, so there really isn’t a part of his kit that’s neglected by it. More health means you can stay in fights longer, which you need to do as this champ to get your abilities off. When you are too low or weak due to lacking full tank items, your hp will assure that you can still do a bit of decent damage with your Q throw. If you build according to that logic, rift maker seems pretty ideal. Liandri’s and rylais are also good by this logic. Health is also important to making your W actually decent, it is what scales your shield. Which means if you build haste, you have a form of damage mitigation that is very effective and scales with health, making up for your lack of magic resist and armour. As much as you’d like to sit back and poke, you simple don’t have that luxury, and paradoxically health is sort of needed for you to make pokeing effective. It’s crazy to me how well you did with full AP and barely a single AP bruiser item. Edit: just occurred to me that rylais might be entirely redundant

If you want to go full Q damage build it should be something like this: Heart steel Liandry Riftmaker Muramana (Another HP/ad item) And haste boots.

Try phase rush build next. Go zoom move speed. Q combo then e to u turn them behind u. Should be pretty annoying having to trade and fear being u turned after every trade.

Considering his ratios, I believe an AP build on him will be stronger as an AP bruiser, with AP+health items and some tank items, maybe a nashor's since that would allow you to cause more damage with Melee hits for Q.

I'd be curious to see Skarner with Liandry's rush into Rod of Ages, then picking up a Rift Maker later. The last two spots are filler based on what you need - more damage, more survivability, more haste.

I think if someone will play him on top lane in high elo vs a tank, definitely will go for Liandry and full tank build. Seems very logical and strong. Riftmaker looks like a good option too.

The Tri-brid combo needs to be a thing: Two Bruiser items, two tank items, two ap items. Let's see where it goes.. Also, does the third empowered auto apply if you throw the rock?

Old skarner, covers himself in crystal energy gains movement and shields himself.. Rework, like hf picks up a rock, does nothing with it for 2 attacks qnd then smashes it against you... I like the Q but they should reapply the crystal Energy... Nothing about pickking up a rock with your tail gives more damage to tour claw attacks... Nice rework
