Dan, I think you have unique style too. It’s a really playful style, mixed with a sort of steezy quickness that shows a lot of board control, especially with more fine motor skills in tech skating. It’s a great contrast to skaters who are hucking big, snappy tricks. You bring the balance dude, keep it up 👏

Exactly what I was thinking during the whole video. They both pop tricks so high it's surreal, they both have the same 'style' of skateboarding, being relaxed while looking impressive, it's a match made in Heaven. Mvp of the video to me is that kid with the red t-shirt and helmet.

I like it when your style gets a little bit scrappy, as it deteriorates deep into the session. It shows how hard that you push yourself. You often have the ability to string loads of tricks together at this point and it's fun to watch as the creativity flows. Frontside flips are super tight now, would love to see you have an epiphane moment for backside flips as well. Respect

FWIW Dan I think you have a great style that might be less "flowy" than some, but I think it's unique because it has a specific percussive sound as well as visual style. When you do a line like slappy->wallride->ride-on grind->raille->ghost pop switchflip it can often sound like somebody playing a drum beat with some swing. You seem to love tricks that make great noises. It genuinely makes me think of Gonz at times

I think the biggest factors in style are physical strength, posture, flexibility and balance. Skaters with bad style are usually lacking in at least one these and improving them will increase their style significantly. Go to the gym, stretch, fix your hunched back, eat healthy, get a balance board. Skaters with sick style usually come from a sports background, have significant muscle mass at least in relation to their bodyweight. It’s not just talent, which does also play a role, but mostly it’s really just physical fitness. I see all these kids skating 8 hours a day, they look like a twig because all they do is burn calories, don’t eat enough and have terrible style with their hunched back because they can’t support their spines.

Style is natural, flair is crap. The great thing about style is that there is no BEST, considering how unique it can be. You have a great playful, techy, sketchy style with it's own soundtrack (which as well know is huge). Zach and Devin have similar surgical yet inhumanly casual styles with huge pop. As far as trick style, I'm a snowboarder at heart and love seeing huge simple tricks over 2000 degree spins. As my favourite pros age out of competitions and are free to do what they want, it's great. Nothing beats a fully boned method or giant slo mo 180 (Torstein Horgmo for example).

@Dan Corrigan Style is a 2 factor thing: Selection and execution. Selection is type of tricks, environment, line, ... Exectution is speed, height, flip , catch, landing, body posture, impression (like eg seemingly effortless) Then maybe you have a third category about personality, clothing, ...? Why you yourself sir have great style is in my opinion mainly because of your amazing and playful improv selection with an unbelievable amount of bag of tricks with consistency. Dude., your lines 🤯

Style is definitely important. You could have a million tricks but if there’s not style behind it it’s really just a million tricks. As far you as talking yourself down a little, I think your style is great, along with the nasty homies you rip with, part of the reason I binge watch your videos is your unique approach at everything you hit. You have style, and a unique perception, which both make your videos super dope to watch. Cheers and thanks for the content.

Yo been watching your channel for a couple of months man. I'll b 50 in Dec & I don't even remember the last time I stood on a board. But I just got me a board yesterday. I skated for a little over 3 yrs till I was about 19,was pretty good back then but I live in Cleveland Tennessee. We don't have much in the way of parks or anything unfortunately. I'm so fucking jealous of u guys & the parks, its just blows my mind bc I can't imagine. Lol. But yeah I'm fixing to start skating again, I lost my only son almost 3 yrs ago in Jan. To say its been tough would b a massive fucking understatement obviously. I'm pretty excited about skating again, ik its gonna b tough & painful at times of course. But I wanna ty though man, you're channel def has quite a bit to do with me gonna try this shit. I see how much fun u are having & idk for some reason it just made me wanna have some of that feeling again. I'm even thinking of starting my own channel just to kinda docu it somewhat. Its the 1st time in yrs that I've been this stoked & excited about pretty much anything. I have Bipolar Depression, PTSD, Anxiety among other bullshit but it is what it is. I love your channel man & keep it up, doubt this will b read & thats cool, just felt like I needed to leave a msg. U should know that u have the power to motivate & effort ppl in a positive way & trust me I need that more than u know my friend. My name is Aaron Nale,I'm also an artist or atleast I used to b but been trying to get back into that as well. Its been a fucking nightmare & feel like this is gonna help me. How I'm not sure but I've gotta try bc I've came close to taking myself out but I'm just to much of a pussy to do that. Sorry for the long msg I'm just desperate & wanted to say Ty bc you're videos have been awesome since I stumbled across them a few months ago. Have a great one Dan & b safe!!

I loved your breakdown of style, and I love watching Devin skate because of his style. 100% agree on everything you said. Guys that always wow me with style, are the ones who don’t dress in the style I prefer, but you can’t deny how beautiful they look on a board doing tricks. Clothes/shoes aren’t shit if you don’t have style and tricks, but if you wear the shit I think looks dope + have the style and tricks it’s the ultimate.

I like skaters with loose flowy style, technical but not robotic. Like I could watch Bevup all day. I watched the earth goblin video recently and loved a lot of the skating in that. There was a dude on Dale's channel, Nolan that had sick style. (if you know him please get him on the channel cus I can't find him online and he's so sick) Anyone who is raw I usually like. Like watching Nyjah or Yuto does nothing for me even though they are objectively good. I want some sketch in there.

I honestly love that dorking around and doing silly fun tricks is accepted more now. 15 years ago I got really bummed out and stopped skating because of gatekeepers and snobs. Felt like I only really had like Louie Barletta, maybe Jerry Hsu and some of the Death Skaters Dan Cates & Richie Jackson doing the things I wanted to do. But at the skatepark I’d feel completely excluded. The way you approach skating I feel like you could do something on m any obstacle a bit like Andy Anderson, even if it’s silly but with such a different and unique style. I really can’t stand that rehearsed or fake style it itches my shit . I love what that Playclub guy is doing as well. Reminds me of the stuff I used to try (try being the most important word).

Best style - Luan Olivera Worst style - Andy Anderson When you talked about new skaters with incredible skill but contrived style I immediately thought of Zach Doelling. I think style just kind of is what it is. people skate, get good as they can get. I mean you can practice techniques on tricks to improve things about them but at the end of the day you skate how you skate lol so any excessive exaggerated movement would probably be silly outside of joking around for some dramatic effect lol. Also Dan, you have great balance, board control, giving you a deep variety of tricks, and surprising pop, so given that level of skill you make it look easy a lot of the time. That’s style too IMO

style is a result of musculature, bone structure and perception. your style is what it is, you can't change it, we never decided it would be like that in the first place. There are aspects of your style you can change. For instance, your style is to pretty much ride around at a moderate speed at all times. You could go balls out and that would change a lot of things, like how bad the injuries are. Everything looks good when it's really fast or really high.
