Skater Trainers Review (Should You Buy in 2021?)

For years Skater Trainers have advertised their product to me before almost any skateboarding video here on RU-vid. Well, I bought a set of these Skate Trainers and decided to see if they actually do help with improving skateboard tricks... or if it is a big gimmick.
Skater Trainers are these guards you put on your skateboard wheels that prevent you from moving. The idea is that without being able to move on your board you will gain confidence to practice and perfect new tricks.
So the big question, are the Skater Trainers worth your $20 in the year 2021? Or is it better just to practice ollies, shove-its, and kickflips in the grass?
I got my Skater Trainers off Amazon. However, they are also sold on Zumiez as well as the official Skater Trainers website.

Great video, very well done. And thanks for check us out! A few answers to your questions. SkaterTrainers are designed to fit loose, they actually work better that way. As far as durability, they last a very long time. They get scuffed up, but are designed to withstand damage and not break because the bands do not come into contact with the ground very often, just the thick "stops". We put a lot of effort into our patented design and our selection of material compounds(then are not silicone). For the 360 flip, try taking one of the SkaterTrainers off. Thanks again!

Hey, I’m going to get some to practice tricks. I’m 45 so when I slip out bad i get hurt. Not good! They will definitely give me the confidence to try things outside of my comfort zone. Edit. Also are these the V2 version? I see the V2 is half the weight of the first version. Thanks

skater trainers are a scam! A better alternative is just tightening your wheels so that they don’t roll. Just make sure to not tighten them too much because you could mess up your bearings. If you don’t already have a skate tool they’re the same price as skater trainers and more useful. You definitely want to learn the trick rolling as soon as possible if not immediately when you try learning it. Then you don’t have the mental block of being scared to do the trick rolling. It’s really not more dangerous. I’ve personally only fallen a couple of times while learning Ollie’s rolling slowly and never doing any other trick because once you understand when to step off or kick your board away on a trick (which naturally happens when you skate consistently and get the fundamentals on lock) you won’t even care if you’re rolling or stationary. Because there’s no difference!
