So I’m getting trained by a couple friends to play ice goalie. I play Die hockey and I’m good at that so they want to teach me to skate for their team but this looks pretty intimidating
It’s funny I consider my self a hybrid cause I had no choose due to my height 5 6. The butterfly has change so much with the changes to the goalie pads. I got to add those pad power side to the tool box.
Had a random question about the goalie with blue pads. During the Shuffle Drill (2shuffle 1 back) his skate made a weird noise when stoping. Is that a sharpening issue or a stance/technique issue or a Skate issue? Reason im asking is because i just got new skates and had them sharpened, didn't think the guy did the best of jobs (even though hes the only one in the small town i currently live in who does them for everyone.) and on both my skates it sounds like that too. I never had that problem on my older skates when i played in a bigger city where a trusted hockey shop was were i got my skate sharpened.
My buddy's Bauer's made the same noise. Blue pad goalie is wearing Bauers. My CCMs never made that sound. Wondering if it is the type of metal used for the blades?
I've had Bauer's that make that sound when I first started wearing them and then go away after some time. I did notice that the steel in those skates felt harder.
