Tretch has the best diplomacy lines, though. So i suppose that's one saving grace. " Treaty-pact possible, but only if you stand in this exact position!"
Tretch provides one ability that Legend didn't mention, the vanguard ability for his entire army. When I've got a weapons team army that allows for better positioning on the battlefield to start. Not that it would change the ranking but does add some benefit.
Indeed, vanguard deployment is huge, but mostly for melee oriented armies. I guess someone taking advantage of the skaven range weaponry would not mind that much vanguard deployment
I can see Ikit as Palps, considering he shoots lightning and has access to WMD, but Skrolk as Vader? Yes, he has a wheezing voice, but Vader didn't smell bad (or did he...)
Glad to see my boi Skrolk getting some love, i do believe he's quite underrated. Notably, recruiting plague priests at such a high level is really valuable. Also good job on including a brief comparison of the various clan mechanics at the end; these comparison vids are really useful when picking which campaign to try next, or which DLC to buy
@@michael35889 I would highly recommend playing with 2 mods - Recruit Defeated Legendary Lords + Re-Skill confederated Lords /it applies to Defeated Lords too....True it takes out the thrill of racing against time, but in my last 3 skaven campaigns Skrolk got deleted within first 30turns, there is no way I could ever confederated him in time....and you get the bigger chance to get those juicy trait of far away LL as the mods applies to AI too....
I remember Legend saying that he won't do lords comparisons until the next dlc is out. And just yesterday I thought 'Maybe we'll get one soon. Probably skaven or wood elves.'
Over the last week or so he repeatedly said he'd like to do them before the dlc comes out on stream. Wood Elves and Skaven that is. Seems like he got to Skaven first (even though he originally thought about doing welves first).
I respect your decision to not put clan mechanics in for the lord comparison but you must consider that CA balance's the lords in accordance to the faction mechanic so I'm not surprised that the scaven's got these scores at all, since most of them have there own unique mechanic that is incredibly useful. Great video, love your work and i cant wait for the next.
Tretch can provide a factionwide bonus, but you either have to start as him or acquire him before he gets his Lucky Skullhelm. During the quest for the Skullhelm he gets a choice which applies a trait which provides a factionwide effect. Because the AI doesn't do the quest it doesn't get the trait. They're not very good, but one does give -5% build cost factionwide.
glad your making this kind of informative content again legend! Try to see how much views your informative video's get, its absolutely your best content! Everyone appreciates a person's opinion who has such a good knowledge of the game and such a passion for it!!
Nice video. Agree generally. Maybe I'd give +1 point to Queek's factionwide score for public order bonus. Also Tretch has vanguard deployment for the whole army. It's super useful for weapon team army, so I'd give him 7/10 for commanding.
If i had to rough outline it. Lightning Strike is the most broken thing in this game, always get it first with the possible exception of ambush armies. (Skaven/Alith anar) Then spell casting/any lord specific traits that look good. Id say these are about the same value. Then red line for any missle buffs, especially Range or ammo buffs Then either finish out the blue line, or invest into yellow if the unit could use it. There's exceptions to this, but generally speaking I think thats a good framework if you're ever unsure where to put points.
I kinda figured Tretch, especially with tomorrow having all stormvermin give Encourage on Skaven (counterintuitive to his retreating and losing buffs, but still) would put him higher than Queek at least
Hey man, huge respect for your vids and you do know your way around the game. On Tretch you dont mention his cloak all units in a radius power ( he can do that 3 times per battle). Closing the gap with a bulk of your army, plays rigth up his ally of being a deceiving tank unit. But yes he requires micro.
Skrolk as the #2 isn't surprising to me. I've always said he was a really strong LL, and the faction plague mechanics really do strengthen the faction as a whole and make what would otherwise be difficult battles trivial.
Okay im glad you mentioned it at the end of the video cause was gonna say that thanos snap is like so op it would make death master a easy 10 out of 10 but taking the faction out of it I can see completely where your going and agree.
I would argue that a pure upkeep cost reduction is more of a faction buff than an army buff, since it does not make your army stronger (except very early game where it enables you to field more units). But instead it gives more funds to your whole faction and therefore your other Lords and Heroes and lets you develop your provinces better.
But I can very much accept Legend's method of looking where the actual effect is applied. It is just another thought for everyone interested that I want to put out there.
Great Video, I dont know if u read the comments but would be great to add the preferred order of level up( if there is one) and also which agents are more suitable for each lord/faction
Well, i can't speak to Throt the unclean yet (not until tomorrow anyway) but i totally agree legend. Ikit is clearly one of the best lords in the game and Skrolk is absolutely amazing and totally under-rated. Skrolk's starting spot is tough. Geographically it is pretty easy since he's smooshed at the southernmost portion of the continent, but dealing with those tanky lizard men in the early campaign is a bit difficult when you're fielding mostly skaven slaves. I know you are ranking lords, not factions, but my god how good is Ikit Claw / Skryre? I don't think CA will ever be able to create anything that can compete with the sheer awesomeness of clan Skryre. If you play this game (certainly if you play Skaven) you absolutely MUST get that DLC. It is utterly essential IMO. Anyway, love these videos. More more, yes-yes.
I'm a bit surprised Legend didn't mention the buffs Sniktch gives Runners and Slingers. So far in my campaign the AP missiles have been a godsend. They make dinosaurs disappear, they deleted Imriks dragons. I'm going to eventually enjoy completing his campaign as my first Skaven campaign. I'm not trying to say that he is the best Legendary Lord but I do think that he should be higher than Queek Headtaker.
I don't suppose we'll get a WE comparison vid huh? I know it won't be as impressive as the greatest-best race, the Skaven! But this was really interesting so I'd love a vid on them too!
I say, whats on fey enchantress's mind ;) Nice one btw, I agree with most of it, you could consider updating some of your old videos, would be reasonable imo
I’m gonna be honest. Tretch is probably one of my favourite LL in warhammer. I know he’s terrible but that’s why I love him. He’s so bad it’s a character trait and j love him for it
I would have given Ikit Claw like an 11 or 12 out of 10 for combat to be honest. Dude’s absolutely ludicrous. Stupid cheap warp lightning and those free brass orbs. Staff that’s like a handheld cannon and equipment that gives some powerful buffs to an already powerful combat lord. In all seriousness, great write-up.
Getting knocked down a lot will matter a lot less tomorrow since they're making everyone much sturdier, so knocking down our weeblord Skaven boy will happen a lot less.
I would probably add more points to Skrolk's faction power because the upkeep of lords and heroes is getting increased next pach I believe? If I am not wrong?
Tretch fleeing ability doesn't have to be used after a battle. You cant literally retreat before every battle to get the buff. Also surprised Eshin came under Queek and you really need to start including faction mechanics.
Was there an update to the game in the last few days because I did a legendary campaign kinda messed it up (gave up turn 138) went to redo it a few days later and the start just seems a lot harder
Sniktch: *can usually kill most lords/heroes and certain monsters quickly, is near impossible to get sniped due to stalk and his speed, has great escape potential due to his speed and verminous valour, absolutely shits on armoured units with armour piercing and armour sundering and is pretty decent against infantry/cavalry with his infinite use bound stationary vortex. Legend: *QuEeK kIlL dWoRf! QuEeK gOoD cOmBaT!
I don't get it. You didn't include clan mechanics, but you did include faction leader traits. Aren't those very much linked together? Like if you have Snikch, you always have the shadowy dealings clan mechanics and his faction traits. I mean, it's not like you can get other clans' mechanics either by confederating them, just like you can't get their faction leader traits by confederating them. Or did I miss something here?
Honestly I find it hard to believe that this robotic rat scientist it's better than the craze mutated rat with three arms if you ask me they're both pretty close in comparison unless they all get the same units in the DLC if that's the case then just forget about what I was saying.
Like I say, skaven units should be used to tie enemies down and you us the artillery to kill bolth the enemy and your rats. Because you have the manpower to throw life's away.
Lord Skrolk deserves a higher command power for the sole reason that you can have trailing armies of just plague monks. Lord Skrolk waaghs harder than the orks if you do this.
Even tho tretch is a garbage pile of bad i still love him. He is that special kid in school that gets bullied but is loved at the same time Tretch is my special rattie❤️
Queek is one of the best to kill lords he literally slaughters lords 2 hits alot of elves 20 seconds he already killed or chasing off a lord. I like to have him in the middle of battle and use verminous valor it mass routes units.
With the PO weight reduction, I don't think anybody can get 10/10 afterward in this system, before I was thinking maybe Wulfrik can get close to it, but now it seems impossible
The fact that the Workshop ist bound to skryre Hurts so bad. I love the ratlingguns and poisonwindmortars but without the Workshop they're so less effective in comparison that it Lacks the fun when playing mors or pestilens.. :/ eshin i build Other armies Till the lategame cause armorpiercing Stones are quite effective against dwarfs and Elves. and by beginning of the lategame u Just Battle garrisons mostly so I Just have one weaponteamarmy to defend the siegearmies (which can defend themselves also very good with 5 plaqueclaws, 5 jezzails, 2 warlocks and 8 plaquepriest/lords) But if they give all ratlingguns the endless ammo and all the POISONWINDmortars actually poison I could die in Peace. Or Just the poison would be enough. Its Just to funny to See a unit slowly die while they Run away from Green shells xD And btw: Clan skryre gets a 13 Out of 10 Cuz the Game says very hard and it isn't. Steamroll Always around Turn 90 or earlier (legendary). In my recent campaign even around Turn 50 xD
HAIL! The Empire would like me to inform everyone this video is a fabrication for this no such thing as "ratmen" or "skaven" please go on your day in sigma's name
Thing I like about Tretch is that he’s the sanest of the legendary skavens. The rest are (with the possible exception of sniktch) just not quite right in the head.
Just wait until Thanquol gets added to the game. Have you ever asked what it would be like if Teclis was a giant rat that snorted warpstone cocaine? Wonder no longer.
We we have no idea what you mean! Stick him dirty virulent plagues - NO antisocial disdistancing! Throw him in mutagen he needs 2 heads to think better better! strap him to BOOM BOOM rocket! YES YES!
