3 and a half is a god damn insult. They bring both the old and new with their sound. that's what makes them the best out there. terrific musicianship with something in there for all to love. with the exception their production doesn't sound like a lot of the shitty newwave death metal bands( which are just entombed clones) as well as the addition of them not recording from an abandoned porto potty.
So glad you guys picked Skeletal Remains. Great band and I agree there's potential for them to do something really amazing, but I've loved everything they've done.
This is incredible. Takes me straight back to my youth, caning Morbid Angel, Obituary, Suffocation, et al. Good times. I'm really enjoying this. The vocals are _perfect_ .
RE: saying they don't do anything especially notable - I feel like they're the best 90s Florida band other than Gatecreeper. Loved the Death vibes of the last record, love the Morbid Angel vibes of this record. They're fucking killer.
As an old guy who likes that old school death metal, this looks solid. It sounds hilarious to me that we're speaking like this, I remember when death metal was so new we didn't even call it that yet! Thanks for the review!
Charlie is an absolute beast of a drummer. Ascended Dead, Incantation, Funebrarum, among others, incredible talent. Unfortunately, as of today he is no longer with Skeletal Remains. Pierce Williams, the drummer from AEnigmatum and guitarist in Lord Gore and Torture Rack, is taking over. Replacing one sick drummer with another, what a time to be a metal fan.
I've got that new Skeletal Remains album. I've only listened to it three times so far but I love it. It's not exactly "inventing the wheel" though. I agree, its hard to recommend this over something else already in your death metal collection.
The best band recommendations I get from this channel are from Blake's t-shirts. Just listened to Eternal Rot and goddamn, they're amazing. Fuck you tho, Blake, cuz I checked their band camp and they're sold out of that shirt. As well as pretty much all their other shirts.
Sorry Blayne but I gotta disagree with you. If I was telling somebody about SR, I'd say if you like Morbid Angel or Pestilence/Asphyx, this band is a total mix of those bands.
enjoyed your review...thanks...from my view, artists evolve differently...with some it is through grand gestures, others through subtle shifts... personally, I think this album works...it does represent measured growth from the last album...4 outa 5
Skeletal Remains are definitely one of the best pure 100% death metal bands on the scene right now. I don’t mind so much that they haven’t delved into a full concept like Blood Incantation or Tomb Mold, but we are at album number 4 now, there definitely needs to be something in there that brings us back to album 5 without it becoming much of the same
@Hari Desikachary This is an excellent reply, not gonna lie, you're definitely a far more informed fan than myself! You've given me a different perspective, and though my comment might seem critical, I am a big fan of this band. I have a fear they become 'generic' or 'forgettable' in the long run, especially compared to all their quirky contemporaries, but considering your comment maybe they'll be memorable in the fact they were the best of the best within the pure 90's revival scene
Currently listening to this album, and I'm gonna have to come back to this review, I always love seeing what BangerTV thinks about the releases I'm excited about. This album is brutal. Just perfect blend of old school death metal. Kind of like Morbid Angel and Cannibal Corpse had a baby, with just a touch of Suffocation in there. Epic riff after epic riff, I can't really ask for anything else! 🤘🔨
This is great death metal though. The Century media kind. Profit tested by FDA Rekotz. Signed by CM records. Was this the first band they got from the FDA roster? Not sure. Capitalism at work....
If you haven’t yet, listen to Necrot’s new one Mortal, it’s really good too. Also, Graceless and Live Burial put out good albums this year and are good as well. Check out Ossuarium if you haven’t already.
I definitely fall in the more "Blood Incantation/Tomb Mold" OSDM-vibe. I want my death metal to sound like its on iowaska.Gave this a listen and sort of just continued living my life.
a little bit formulaic but cool the,yre just copying morbid angel,s first 5 albums abominations of desolation 1986 demo album altars of madness 1989 blessed are the sick 1991 covenant 1993 domination 1995 not that fresh or exciting sorry I may not listen to it
"Carnation" had been borrowed separately into English as "color of human flesh" (1530s) and as an adjective meaning "flesh-colored". Think of it more as a fleshy bloody flower if that helps lol Carnage is the killing of many people, the 'tion' part is the implying action around that.
Why Do u guys put to host a vlog or a Review someone acting like an actor? Dude make an adult Review ... tô me seems like a children talking about hotweelss....
