That's very courageous. I can imagine the pressure you were under. It's not at all easy to debate someone with a strongly opposite view, especially when it's a pseudoscientific belief. And when it's filled with ad hominem and strawman arguments. Consider covering cognitive biases and logical fallacies some day. This is a long story and I hope it's helpful. Last year during March 2020, just when the lockdown started, I returned back to my hometown from Bangalore. I was working in an IT company. Few days after I came, I had some slight chest pains. I thought it would go off as days go by. Then one day, I heard a news that one of my relative had a heart attack. I started panicking. So I told my parents and they all started panicking. At that time there were not much hospitals open. We went to a multi specialty hospital they took an ECG and said I was fine. They gave me some sleeping tablets and told me to take rest and this could be because of stress. I did that but the small chest pain remained. Then one day, my mom visited her long time family friend/homeopathy doctor. She asked about my symptoms and specifically asked if I had pain when I breathe in and out. And yes, the pain was caused by my lungs. She told my mom to get some test and chest x ray and meet her soon. Next day we took the tests and met her. She saw the x ray and asked me multiple questions. And finally said I had chronic bronchitis. I was very surprised because I don't smoke. Then I asked her like why are you telling it's chronic and not acute. During this time , my mom mentioned I had some wheezing problem when I was 1 year old. She pointed that out and said I have been having this since a kid and it's becoming more problematic now. I trusted her because she was someone who we knew for a long time. She gave some medicines and told me I had to take it for a year and it can be fixed. After taking the medication for a week the pain went off. So I started trusting her more. At the same time, I wanted to check with other doctors but no one were available due to lockdown. Then I got busy with my college applications and continued to take my medicine. Then I started researching about everything and understood I never had any symptoms for chronic bronchitis except for the slight chest pain. It didn't make sense at all for me. But I thought the symptoms will kick in anytime soon and I could fix it by taking medication properly. Then I had to leave India to pursue my higher studies. Once I reached here I started researching more about homeopathy and started wondering why I am not getting any symptoms. Met a doctor here, took some tests and he confirmed I never had chronic bronchitis. From this I concluded that I probably had some small problem. The homeopathy doctor used that and make it look like I had a chronic disease so that I would be getting medicines for more than a year and they get very good income. And when it ends, they would say they cured a disease that I never had. Then I would believe them and end up taking homeopathy for life. But I didn't end up there thanks to science. Bottom line is do not fall for homeopathy. It's a scam.

I have severe cough and cold and dust allergy since childhood. Whenever I would catch a cold and literally cough my soul out I would be taken to an Allopathic Doctor. He would prescribe Cough syrups and it would take 1.5months or 2months to get better. And then I started Homeopathy. Our conversation would be for 2mins only. He would ask the issue and give me the name of the homeopathy med. In a matter of 5-6days I would stop coughing. I've been taking homeopathy meds for 10yrs and I works well for me. Also I am prone to cystic acne. The same doctor suggested a liquid to apply on my face and within 1month those huge dark spots, pimple marks was gone. Yes, sometimes it really takes time to show its effect but it really works for me.

Just be honest. You can't be right all the time. And whenever you're wrong, just admit the other person is right. Don't overthink it. Mostly they interfere and scold me because my ways are not like what our "normal" society does/believe . At the end I still know it's because they care about me and my better good (even though they assume that I am mad/psychotic for doing things my own way).

Homeopathy worked for my problems regarding menstruation. While it took 4months to get there, it made sure it never happened again. If something doesn't work for you, doesn't mean its not for everyone else either. There are good and bad people in all streams, and it's the same with pseudoscience. I never got the impression that pseudoscience is equal to science or is competing with science. However if something works for someone, they should choose it instead of becoming a sheep to the other herd in an attempt to disapprove of it. Always choose your path. There are too many cases of allopathy doctors being corrupt too and giving the wrong diagnoses, you just have to choose a good one. Idk I just find your audience extremely one-sided. Nobody should be able to dictate what someone prefers.
@MuskanSingh-kw7ux15

That's why we have researches, to see does something work and how much it works. The video here doesn't talk about good doctors or bad doctors it talks about the medicines. A bad doc is bad because of his morals and behavior not because of research based information. The pseudoscientific medicines have time and again proven to be worthless and in a lot of cases harmful to the patient (based on proper research). This "what works best for you logic" is not to be used when you are given a product which clearly doesn't work or is harmful. This logic is to be used when you are given products which are known to give the exact same result. Will you drink poison or plain water if someone claims it can solve Cancer, just to be different from the herd. And what were your menstruation problems and how long they lasted? Some of the problems get solved themselves over time, how do you know that wasn't the case?

@@aladdout9454 Homeopathy isn't harmful as such, leaving for sugar spike but it doesn't work, based on research and not your 4 mahine ka experience. @aladdout9454
@aladdout9454 Год назад
@@MuskanSingh-kw7ux15 Oh u mean like how other medicines are also situational and should be given after knowing a patient's medical history? Pharmaceutical companies do more damage to the human body than anything else on the market. Don't even get me started on psychiatrist medication. Since it's not harmful, its not harmful to suggest it either. And I'm just giving my experience not preferring it over modern medicine. Also, its not 4 months ka experience since its been years now and nothing wrong has happened. Modern medicine has its advantages but does serious damage in comparison to anything else. Its almost like.....each person's case study is unique omg 😳!! and should be taken into account. Even the smallest doses of modern medicine immediately affects your gut and causes stomach problems. Again, not saying its inferior to homeopathy. But since my body is way too sensitive and so is many others, i don't see a harm in it and its been pretty useful.

I have asthma and it’s hereditary. When I was 8 it almost went out of hand. I was not like the other healthy kids in my school. I was allergic to dust and worse than that I began to develop wheezing whenever the weather gets cold. Apart from that my immunity was so low that my IgA levels were just 1/10th of the normal standard. So my parents decided to treat my asthma in homeopathy. It went on for almost 2 years till I was 10 and I would say that it helped a lot in suppressing my asthma. Didn’t help me with my immunity tho but I felt a lot better. But over the years my immunity developed and after 12 years I can say that I’m as healthy as the guys of my age. I’m not quite sure whether my asthma has completely cured or not but I’m damn sure it doesn’t bother me to the slightest. My mom has a combination of piles and fistula which she developed 4 years ago and it got worse week by week. She couldn’t take even a bite of any food which is spicy which if she did would cause tremendous pain. So she decided to treat it in homeopathy. Now she has almost completely recovered from this condition. Her fistula wounds have healed manifold and she has begun to consume mildly spicy food items without any problem though she’s kinda hesitant to return to her normal eating routine before this condition. She’s still on medications tho which is completely homeopathy based. So I personally believe in homeopathy regardless of all these claims cuz it worked for our family. I also respect the reason for y’all people not believe in stuff which ain’t science-backed. I believe that when it comes to alternate treatments like homeopathy you’ve gotta find be careful in finding the right and legit doctor.

I don't want to argue on science or anything. Why should I have an issue if I get relief for my problem. My son had serious breathing / asthma issues. We went to multiple allopathic (proven science) doctors and hospitals. Finally they told it's not good to give so much medications to the small kid. The medicines and continuous nebulization were having adverse effect on his health also. Then we went to a homeopath based on advice from a friend. We did not have much belief in it, but there was no harm in trying out as we had tried every other option. Surprisingly his problems started reducing and we could see a drastic improvement in his health. He did not miss school much after that as well. He used to get minor colds, but with the medicines it never aggravated. So to conclude. I don't want to know if it was science or magic or they gave nectar or poison. My problem is solved and I got the result. What more do I need.

honestly as someone who's had a lot of doctors disregard my concerns the part where he said you shouldn't be concerned about what the physiological effects of a treatment are was genuinely shocking. like... you should actually. when your doctor prescribes you a new treatment you should ask questions about what it does and what side effects you're likely to experience and what severe side effects you should be on the lookout for. "what is this treatment going to do to me" should actually be your number one concern. i don't really think you should NEED to trust doctors personally. i think they should be able to alleviate your concerns by providing you with evidence. and like "what if i refuse to tell you the result beforehand?" dude. then why would anyone take your treatment? do you tell your clients anything at all or do you just hand them a concoction and send them on their way?

Homeopathy has been criticized a lot, but the most prevalent criticism comes from people who do not have the slightest idea of what it is; and their judgment is based on naivety. The new evidence-based approach to homeopathy, thanks to the discovery of the memory of water by Dr. Gerald H. Pollack of the University of Washington in Seattle, finally homeopaths can explain with evidence the mechanism of action of their drugs and why they use infinitesimal doses.

@@PencilSketch_TariniPNayak Doctors and researchers doesn't necessarily have to be same set of individuals in a study. You are oversimplifying "blinding of trials" and are under the assumption that they are methodologically sound. Trials have been manipulated by companies that commission them by shuffling people among the blinded groups, falsifying data, burying results, and even tampering with the publication of the studies. I wish to elaborate with examples, but ill instead request you to read Dr. David Healey's article, Tricks used in clinical trials.

I didn't know this nonsense had made it as far as India. It is a European invention and one which an alarming number of people believe in. It's water! The local skeptics group I go to in the UK once did a stunt where they took an overdose of homeopathic medicine. They were fine. That homeopath you met seemed to get aggressively defensive quite quickly. You were asking reasonable questions. I always wonder with such people whether they really believe in what they're selling or are just con artists. Same result either way.

OshO on Homeopathy: Homeopathy goes still a little deeper. It works on the manomayakos, the mental body. The founder of homeopathy, Hahnemann, discovered one of the greatest things ever discovered, and that was: the smaller the quantity of the medicine, the deeper it goes. He called the method of making homeopathic medicine 'potentizing'. They go on reducing the quantity of the medicine. He would work in this way: he would take a certain amount of medicine and would mix it with ten times the amount of milk sugar or with water. One quantity of medicine, nine quantities of water; he would mix them. Then he would again take one quantity of this new solution, and would again mix it with nine times more water, or milk sugar. In this way he would go on: again from the new solution he would take one quantity and would mix it with nine times more water. This he would do, and the potency would increase. By and by, the medicine reaches to the atomic level. It becomes so subtle that you cannot believe that it can work; it has almost disappeared. That is what is written on homeopathic medicines, the potency: ten potency, twenty potency, one hundred potency, one thousand potency. The bigger the potency, the smaller is the amount. With ten thousand potency, a millionth of the original medicine has remained, almost none. It has almost disappeared, but then it enters the most deep core of manomaya. It enters into your mind body. It goes deeper than acupuncture. It is almost as if you have reached the atomic, or even the sub-atomic level. Then it does not touch your body. Then it does not touch your vital body; it simply enters. It is so subtle and so small that it comes across no barriers. It can simply slip into the manomayakos, into the mental body, and from there it starts working. You have found an even bigger authority than the pranamaya. - OshO Excerpted from: Yoga The Alpha and the Omega (Volume: 10) Chapter - 07 The witness is self-illuminating www.oshoworld.com

I'm an allopathic doctor and what I "believe" like these people like to say is, any medicine or drug should work irrespective of our belief system. It must be objective in its action. I say it is a morally wrong medicine system if it acts differently on different people just because they don't believe in your medicine. I have an unconscious patient in the casualty and the treatment I provide will or should work on the patient irrespective of the patient's nationality, religion, caste and ethnicity. Yes, even modern medicine's drugs' actions depend on the individual patient's liver and kidney functions, but we have certain predictable results that we proved through rigorous double-blinding trials. Are people gonna take an experimental drug that is not proven to work efficiently? That's how I feel when people opt for homoeopathic medicine. People ask so many questions to doctors if they should take their anti-diabetic medicine lifelong and their adverse effects, but will sit in a homeo clinic for 4 or 5 hours and eat those sugar pills for their whole lives! I'm not against a particular system, but provide me enough evidence to back your claims. Afterall, my medicine is called "Evidence Based Medicine". Literally.

I took homeopathic treatment totally troubled with some gastric issues. The doctor charged me 1600 for 24 days course and gave some solutions. Had it, and there was immense relief which lasted for 2 months.. visited again and he prescribed 6 months course.. unfortunately in my 3rd month, things began reversing to the initial state.. 6 months passed and I realized there was no use.. the initial 2 months were probably placebo because of the hope that my friend gave me while visiting that doctor. All I feel now is that there has to be some kind of study or experimentation enough to prove how those meds work, which not only makes them effective but safe also. Homo meds do seem little spooky since they don't tell you what are its constituents.
