A first sail with a newly built CLC Skerry with Balanced Lug sail near Altona, with members of the Port Philip Bay Dingy Crusing group. Some adjustment to the sail set up required.
Thankyou. Yes, now I have had a chance to really try it out, I like the Skerry a lot. It is relaxing to sail, not too twitchy like a lot of small dinghies, and it is fun to row. Not that hard to build either!
The other dinghy is an Impulse. We launched all the boats from the beach in front of Altona Yacht Club, on Port Phillip Bay, Melbourne, Australia. I am lucky to live only a few minutes away, I can walk the boat down if my wife needs the car 😀
@@garyhardy3810 thanks Gary, I am around the other side at Mount Martha also walking distance to the water but no chance of getting my Sabre to the water. I will follow you guys and one day I’ll make the hike over. Many thanks. Happy sailing. Nick - Sabre 733.
@@aloysiusjones3985 Sabres are fantastic boats. I miss my old one. The Bay is so darn big, it is a real hike to get from one side to the other. Let me know if you are thinking of heading over this way. Likewise, happy sailing! That Bay water is getting mighty cold, hope we don't fall in!
