you're one of the first person i've subconsciously labelled an art god lol, your art just seems to have so much life and resonates for me in comparison to other artists. whenever i have art block, i binge watch all of your art tutorials and it immediately clears my block and inspires me. :D hands down most transparent artist on all of youtube
I just want to say thank you so much as an artist who grew scared of drawing because I started to hate the drawings I make. You helped me get through a huge art block and I will be forever thankful
Ahh that's awesome! I am so glad you continue to draw. There are some low points and they might feel endless but once endured motivation is coming back. At least that's what I believe ^^
Im so glad you added all the references you used, sometimes I feel kinda bad for using too many references, like if I was doing something wrong (even tho I know it’s totally okay) or like if I couldn’t draw without them, I feel kinda like an imposter, but seeing you using them for everything make me feel so boosted and inspired! Thank you ❤
Oh actually using many references is really good! It trains your ability to obersve images and it's easier to understand the core fundamentals of how things work. For example if I would just use one reference for a knee I would be able to draw the knee as it is shown in the reference but not really from another angle. And the more I collect the faster I learn the whole thing :) and you won't accidentally copy stuff ^^ so everything is fine with using them. I am glad I could encourage you :)
There’s something about the way you color that is very satisfying and beautiful to me. I love your process and I like watching the way you detail hair and colors, as it’s something I aspire to. Thank you for making these videos for us, and nice job!
goshhh i was waiting for the process video of this piece !! i really love rin’s pose here :D u always come up with extremely attractive poses, i wonder how u get inspo for such unique and cool poses like does it come naturally to u as u decide what to draw or do u get ideas while looking for references? alsoo your hand !!! 😭 like idk how to explain but your hands are perfect for references im so obsessed 🛐🛐 as always thank u for another process video !! they really help me stay motivated !! have a lovely day/night kuro 🫶
Ahh omg this makes me actually happy omg thanks for liking my hands lol well, for the poses I usually see something cool on Pinterest and then I find more and more references and poses which I then combine :) I hope to show more of this starting process soon as well 😌
Thank you for all your detailed process videos 🥺 Coming out of a burnout, your videos have rly taught me how to organise my workspace/references/ layers more efficiently and that in turn makes the drawing process so much more clean and stress-free!! Your art and videos are truly inspiring, thank you for all that you do ♥️
I love your drawings of Rin! 😊These interesting poses (like the shape of the hand here) are always awesome pose studies! I actually struggle a lot with male anatomy, I'm working on something right now and I was having a hard time getting the proportions correct, so it's always helpful to see another process video as a guideline! 😊
Your method for drawing has really helped me with my confidence in my art, even if I could only imitate your method to very a small degree. I always look forward to your videos as they help me on my art journey!
That's wonderful to hear! And it's not about copying my process 1:1, i mean you could but I thinks it's way more helpful to take the things you like and try them for yourself and see if they are working in your process :) when I see people's methods I copy them and when I like they way of working I implement it into my own art process ^^ it's like your skill set :)
This tutorial just flipped a switch in my brain! This upload has to be one of the first tutorials I understood really well :D Thank you so much for sharing this very impactful guide for rendering for us veiwers! ♡
Your art is really amazing! I always feel super inspired and intimidated at the same time (a weird feeling) I love your lineart and colouring!!! I can see how much love you put in your pieces ♡ I'm drawing for 17 years now and feel like a noob whenever I see you drawing, but it also inspires me to try it out myself ^^ I hope someday I'll be able to draw as freely as you do :3 I love your videos and speedpaints and I know how long it takes to edit, so huge Thanks for taking your time to record and edit your drawing process and tutorials for us!! ♡
I love to read youtube comments omg, your kind words reminded me of that. I am flattered. I noticed this as well, some people make Art look so easy to do and for some it's a bit more complicated. But the effort and will to try again and again is visible and will show results in form of improvement, slower than others maybe, but still improvement. I am struggling with my art a lot. I sued to make 3 illustrations of that quality a week. Now it's only 1 per month. So yeah, thing change but it'll be alright. Again thanks for letting me know your story and thoughts. I am wishing you all the best for your art 🙇♂️😌
That's wonderful to hear! I am worried my videos might get too repetitive since its always more or less the same process but hearing this encourages me to continue making videos :)
i'm kinda struggling with my artstyle rn, what i want my art to look like and how i can make it look that way. your tips are so helpful, and watching you draw is really satisfying! the way you render and use references especially
I’ve been having so much trouble with liking my work and seeing your art and process has given me so much more motivation to work 😭 i love that piece so much he’s so pretty 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
I'm so thankful that you show your entire process! As somebody who's starting and is basically a newbie it's so helpful! Most artists seem to keep their techniques a secret and I end up with average plain looking drawings, but I'm sure this video will help me improve. If you could explain in more detail how to use the initial layers to color the sketch I'd be so grateful. You're amazing, thank you again for your art and sharing it
This is such a sweet compliment! Thanks a lot. You all are amazing inspiration to me as well so I am very grateful for that :) hope this isn't cheesy or something ^^'
I absolutely adore how you do lighting in your art, it always looks so aesthetically pleasing and complements the piece really welll ❤ thank you for the video !
Ever since you shared your brush in CSP assets, it had become one of my favorites pen and brush to use, in sketch, lineart and coloring. Also the many illustrations in 1 go, 2 for reference and 1 for main illustration, its a good tactic. I don't have to alt tab CSP and opened image in my PC. Thank you!!!!
Man, thank you very much! I learn new way to render... never thought of making one layer for rough color overall and copy for each part. This way seems easier than rendering one by one. Great work!
u’re really my inspiration!! u help me a lot, thank u so much for this tutorial :)) ps. i’ve alr watch most of your videos, because for me u’re the master of art :))
I'm really grateful for your continuous hard work, everytime I'm down or uninspired your videos are my go to Your videos are pleasant, your explanations are clear, your editing is flawless and well your art is marvelous! Thank you!!
I recently followed you on twitter/x but have been watching over your content for a while. I'm so happy to get to see your process in full. Your skill is amazing! Keep up the good work~ And thank you for the brushes! TOT i'll definitely be trying these out!
Thank you for another amazing tutorial video. Your guidance is pretty easy for me to catch up, I have been following your tips and steps while drawing and it works well for me. Hope you keep up releasing more videos like this. ❤
Thank you! I will try my best to keep videos posted :) I really appreciate your words! Wishing the best of success with your art. Let's draw and improve together like this ^^
You are indescribably inspiring you are an artist I loved your channel I just subscribed to it go on thank you,you help me bring ideas, inspiration in my drawings ❤❤ I don't speak English very well, so I borrowed the translation. Sorry if there was a mistake in my words😢, but you're talented. Keep doing what you offer ❤❤
its so nice to see someone else's art processes it fills my heart with joy I love your art so much I have been watching your videos for a few days for hours trying to see your process and understand better and I was wondering if you could do a face tutorial I struggle to draw the eyes, mouth, nose and other and I love how you draw them so maybe in the future if you could I would love to see a video about it or maybe a anatomy video I also can't grasp the concept of it and I see your art and the first thing I think is "wow thats some really good anatomy" so if you could do any of those that that would be nice thank you for reading and have a amazing day or night :)
Hey! That's such a lovely comment. Thank you so much for telling me. I actually do have a face tutorial already :) for anatomy I can think of making one one the future :)
My heart melts just looking at the thumbnail -- that's illegal to be so handsome! Your art is cool, clean and elegant, and you create such wonderful guides so we are able to learn your technics... Thank you a lot, Kuro, you're beyond awesome (◕‿◕)♡
I love your art! Thank you very much for the video, it helped me a lot to see your process because I am also trying to learn digital painting . Is this style watercolor?
Hi, thanks for uploading a full process, you did great work and made a masterpiece as always. I'm still practicing and uploading my process daily too, I only draw in my free time so each timelapse should be around 2 hours in real-time (would be great if you could take a look and give some advice) but I did show my improvement. Still a far way to go but I hope you can keep on sharing with us more tips and tutorials. Appreciated!
im so in love with your video , i went from not understanding to having multiple breakthroughs . Theonly thing I'm wondering is what happens at 3:38 how do you fill the lineart so easily
this is so cool! i didnt really understand step number 4 in the beginning where you started grouping the colors for the individual segments though.. haha
thanx for the amazing videos! would you mind sharing which brushes you use in clip studio? oh and could you maybe make a video about what rendering is? i don't get the difference between coloring and rendering 😅
Thank you 😊 I try to answer in English. I hope this is OK. The brush isn't opaque. It's a sketch brush which makes the line drawing look smooth and soft :)
Your tutorials are always amazing to see. Have you ever done a video talking about masks ? They confuse me so much, and I've heard they work differently on csp than with photoshop but I don't know if it's true since i can't use neither lol
Actually they work the same I think! I never did a video about them. I think I briefly mentioned them here and there. Maybe I can do this soon. But because I don't use them to their full extent I don't know what to show there besides the basics. I will think about it. Thanks for your kind comment :3
Your art is a masterpiece and it rlly helps me with my own art! Wondering if u could make a tutorial on hands because I’m sure a lot of struggle with that ❤ ☺️
siempre que no tengo ganas de dibujar se me quita al ver cualquiera de tus videos, Kuro! eres realmente un modelo a seguir con respecto al dibujo y siempre agradezco que compartas tus procesos y tips
This is a really great tutorial and your videos have really helped me deal with some mental aspects I'm struggling to overcome when I draw digitally 😅. If you don't mind me asking how did you change your brush cursor though?
hi I always love watching your content and I just wanna ask about one previous tutorial of you not doing lineart which I think saved some time, I just wanna ask is lineart that important or you don't hv to necessarily do it? cause I'm lazy af and I'm still learning so,..
Hmm..good question actually. I noticed that it saves some time in the long terms in my personal process. The unsureness of not knowing where exactly something belongs to is stressing me out. So I have these 3 major steps: sketch, when I am happy I move on to the next step: lineart and then finally rendering. And only when I am completely happy with 1 step I love on. This way I don't have to correct tons of things afterwards because I was too eager to render ^^
@@kurohshiro I see! I do think illustrations look cleaner with lineart but I didn't notice much difference in yours cause your sketch lines could be mistaken for lineart bcs it's not too messy like mine. I think, what I need to do is practice to be patient with my work before moving onto the next step!
hi! i absolutely love your art style, and your tutorials are always very helpful. i was wondering what type of brushes you use for colouring? i don't have clip studio paint so i can't use the exact same ones but i do want to find some similar ones for the program i use. thanks!
Thanks! One brush is pretty soft but can make hard edges as well. A good alternative would be a hard airbrush. This sounds contradicting but you can adjust the standard airbrush and it's hardness :) it also has some sort of blending or smudging effect. The other brushes are textured watercolour brushes which make a nice effect for metal and skin. Hope this helps you! 😊
Hey! I dislike working with multiply layers in my character shading because it always messes up with the colour picker. I choose them by hand and adjust them when needed. When I work with multiply I make sure to merge it back once I am happy with the result :)
Your art style is amazing! Question, how do you adjust colors once you put on the all the layers of the rough color? It seems like it would be hard to adjust once you have already gone to that step? Sometimes my art feels too saturated and I need to lower lighting, so how do you handle it?
Hi! Actually Saturated and desaturated Art styles do look nice. I think it depends on the execution and colour combination. I love to have subtle hints of Saturated colours and 90 percent dull colours while some others have 90 percent Saturated and 10 percent desaturated colours. Anyways, the rough colour is rough because it's easy to throw in some new colours when I am not happy with what I got. And if this doesn't help I adjust it via colour adjustments all at once or by selecting areas. But I just move on to render everything when I am completely happy with what I got. Hope this helps :)
Hey have you considered making a vid about rendering? Or maybe you've already made one and I just missed it haha although I think it would be really useful
Hey! Rendering is a very broad topic so i dont really know where to start there. But the video "How I color" shows my painting and rendering process more indepth :)
There is no way that canvas is only 3200 x 3600 px and that level of detail?! What size is your sketch/lineart brush, and how do you keep it from looking lumpy and overworked?
Yes, I di t really need any larger sizes yet. As long as their are at least 300 dpi I am happy. My laptop wouldn't survive this otherwise. The size depends on the usage. I adjust it to my process so there's not a fix size I am using.
