Sketchbook Tour 7 - Pretty Big

Aghaghafgh thank you! And yeah, there's a lot of episodes, it's very daunting😅 but I'm thinking I'm only gonna watch campaign 2, coz the thought of trying to watch all of it and then also catch up to campaign 3 is very intimidating. So imma just take my time 😁

YESSS! Oh damn I love that angst. There's so much potential!!!! It is funny I went the complete opposite, at one point I was gonna make a small comic about Kerry voicing his fear of V someday just becoming Johnny because of the chip and just a general reassurance that he doesn't want Johnny he wants V. It's so cool to see how people take these relationships differently and I really love it! I think I'd be bawling over the story you've made, it sounds so bittersweet and I'm honestly here for it

@staticwool ohhh that's so beautiful! I hope you feel inspired to rough it even some day! I'd love to see that! I think I was just really sad about how Kerry's endings were. Bar one they're all pretty sad to me. I had planned to maybe have a johnny/v headcanon romance and adding Kerry into the mix in game... yeah I couldn't avoid the identity angst 🥲

Thank you!!! She used to be my biggest inspiration when it came to drawing and filling my sketchbook! I tried using her methods for drawing to help me with mine, though I tried really hard not to copy her style and make it my own. I love that you can see it my old drawings though, thank you!

I don't know if there's a name for the technique I use? There might be. The one I use is where you draw a circle for where the main bulk of the head is, draw a cross through it and then use the verticle line as the center of the face and the horizontal line for where the eyes go. Although I've since changed it to use a square instead of a circle, it just works better for me. It's really hard to explain so I think I'll just post a quick small vid of it on my instagram to make it easier 👌 (and I mean I'm literally gonna record it right now and post it😊)

Yeah, I find it weird that both of the male romance options (River and Kerry) are introduced much later than the girls and are both optional side quests. But Rivers quest was absolutely the best in the game. I usually find the cop/detective quests in games the most enjoyable 👌👌 I understand why real world events, past and current, would effect peoples views on police in general. But idk, I guess it also annoyed me that people were applying this logic to a video game character who shows literally no bad characteristics😅especially since you as a main character literally go around murdering hundreds of people

@@staticwool What Kerry has going on for him is that you see him a few times in flashbacks and he has a relationship with Johnny, who is a part of you, so in a way when you meet Kerry he doesn't feel like a total stranger. But River is basically introduced to you on a Monday morning, and on Wednesday he's begging you to be a part of his family, it's a bit weird. I think it's all a bit hypocritical to hate on the whole cop community, because the instances of police brutality are predominantly happening in the USA and yet people are yelling ACAB left and right, and it means what it means, it means ALL of them, every single one in the World. I'm not saying there are no issues with the police in Europe elsewhere, but what people are blaming Cops for it's to be racists and discriminating entire communities, but that's exactly what people are doing when they're calling every single Cop a bastard just because he's a Cop. Here recently we had a Policeman who was killed on duty, got his throat slashed and bled out, almost every year at least one dies in service, sometimes a team of two, while there are literally zero instances of people being killed by the Police. So no, they're not all bastards, it's always the same thing, it's a minority that doesn't represent the community. And as you say, as a Merc in NC you literally are a killing machine running over people and being responsible for hundreds of death, and River is really one of the sweetest people in NC, a really genuine and honest man trying his best in a World that is completely effed up, and if you can't respect that, what do you respect ? 😅 Damn, now i'd kill to see my V drawn in your style 🤩

I wouldn't say I'm the best person to ask when it comes to anatomy, I still struggle with it 😅 The only advice I can give is the boring stuff, you need to practice from reference. Line of action is a good site to use, they have loads of photo's of people in lots of different positions that are super helpful. I also like to use reference from games (hence all the game fanart 😂) two birds with one stone, practicing from reference and fanart at the same time 👌

I use Posca Pens a lot. And then dabble with Acrylic 😊

This happens to me all the time too, I've only just started using fixative spray (Winsor & Newton Professional fixative) it seems to work so far but if you use it on ballpoint pen it will bleed through to the other side. Seems to work well on Gouache too. Though I've seen other people suggest a light layer of watercolour should also seal the pencil 😊 I also put a couple of scrap pieces of paper between the previous few pages of my book when I'm drawing to also prevent this 👌
