I think it's the skill you've developed for telling stories that attracted all those people to you. It's clearly transferred over to video form as well, because this video was an absolute joy to _listen_ and watch.
Another beautiful video😍😍😍 i love to daydream and listen to music, look through some of my favorite artists books, children’s books, and even sometimes flip through my old sketchbooks. I usually make something, move onto the next page, and nearly forget about it. So I’m always finding a forgotten treasure or a piece of art I didn’t love at the time and have a new found love for it. I just love your videos and I do hope you’ll share more soon❤
I have saved your video in my "watch later" list. So today when I felt exhausted about my work ( trying to learn to code since it was my career and my major at university and trying to connect with art like illustration in any way because I think it is my aptitude, it is frustrating because I think I won't master in either) I harbored to RU-vid and I chose your video. it was like a relief to see a person talking about her process which is not always delightful. I found your personal taste in colors very lighthearted. I even felt close to you when you told me why you hate that black painting of the window. And I think there is a metaphor behind your passion for windows: you like an opening slot that dares to confront the reality of walls. being open to more cheery parts of life, even if they can't pass from bricks.
Aww thank you for your kind words Razie! I would say hang in there and don’t be so hard on yourself. You can absolutely do both of those things and be good at both. Sometimes things just take time. The work I was sharing in that video was from 2016-17 and since then I’ve improved my skills and continue to do so as long as I keep at it. So hang in there and don’t give up. 🫶🏽

What an incredibly beautiful and AUTHENTIC video. I have to agree, we have to allow ourselves a safe space to explore and find our own rhythm as artist. Your work is lovely and so fun to see the progression and when it "Popped" for you, when that mental turn happened. I was so excited to see the brilliant progression in your style. I have to agree with you on the windows, they always mesmerize me. The stories behind them always intrigue me. I do think your combo for a chocolate bar sounds divine. Thank you! I think I was still in the phase of I need this sketchbook to “look pretty”. I try not to do that anymore. It a different chat I have to have with myself till today. I have to tell myself… “It’s just one page, one bad drawing, move on, you will create many more drawings. You have a millions drawings waiting to come out of you.” It’s years of undoing the whole “perfectionism syndrome”

Really enjoyed this, I find sketchbook tours are often a bit dry, but you made it very entertaining. I really loved one painting that you only flipped through, it looked like a parisian building with a bright neon sky. It's at 7:26
Thank you! I plan to do a lot more sketchbook tours. I enjoyed telling stories behind the sketches and paintings. Hahaha that painting almost didn’t happen. I was feeling really frustrated with myself and wanted to do something different and thought, what if I painted the sky neon! Sometimes I need to give myself permission to something that I really want to try and not worry about anything. I’m a bit of an over thinker!
I've added some of your prints to my favorites on Etsy before so I immediately recognized your art in the moving thumbnail!! Glad that YT recommended it. It's so nice to hear the background by the artists themselves. I'm especially drawn to the awry perspective in your work. It's something exploited by so many artists and illustrators out there of course but your application feels very organic to me. Maybe it has to do with what you're actually drawing because it's mostly like snapshots from everyday life, of mundane scenes and objects and the perspective sort of mimics that sense of fleeting moments if that makes sense. But then the colors are super opaque and saturated, even rigid at times in that they're not "fleeting" at all! It makes an interesting dynamic. Wishing you good luck with your channel 🌼🌼

I really enjoyed the dynamic of this video and that you didn't just flip through from front to back but jumped around and showed connections without highlight every single sketch in you sketchbook. This is a great sketch book tour with a really inspiring atmosphere!
You really made things hard for yourself by using a cartridge paper sketchbook for painting! I'm surprised at how well the cartridge paper stood up to all that paint. This is a lovely trip through your development. The lounge room painting with the indigo/warm yellow palette is so beautiful and definitely a milestone for you.
Thanks. I actually love that sketchbook. And it takes gouache and colour pencils really well. I’ve been using it for year now. Daler Rowney recently changed the paper of that sketchbook but I still think it works for my way of painting and the art materials I use. I am glad you enjoyed the video. I really appreciate it. 😀🙌🏽

This video is so well done! I feel like a lot of smaller channels struggle with synchronizing the voiceover with the visual content being shown, but yours is perfect. Not to mention the art is delightful and it was really nice to hear the evolution of your style - you are honest about your struggles without beating your beautiful art down in any way. Your voice and ideas were really pleasant to listen to and I think rosemary, popcorn, and peppercorns is a brilliant idea for a chocolate flavor.
