Thank you for coming onboard and sketching our ship! I am part of the GBA Ships shore team working in UK, I really enjoyed your video showing the ship from a visitor perspective, and love your sketching style. I hope you enjoyed the books!
Hello, Alvin. I last saw the original Doulos floating bookstore in about 1997 when it came to my home port in Papua New Guinea. It's so nice to see the 'new' Doulos (Hope) continuing the mission.
@@AlvinMarkArt No, it was named simply Doulos (built 1914) during its years of service as a floating bookstore. But when it was sold in about 2009 it was renamed 'Doulos Phos'. I think it's now a floating hotel somewhere in Indonesia. Incredible that it continuously sailed all the world's oceans for almost 100 years straight under various names and owners.
I haven't been in a bookstore in years, and by the Bay?! Awesome! My whole Family loves Books. For the past 4 years My Papa has given me Art books for Christmas. Last year he gave me 11, Yes You heard right Eleven. 😲 He's an instructor of Sumi-e here and enjoys painting only in B&W. He's NOT on Instagram,. The Books run the gamut of different styles and inspirations, Thanks for sharing ☺
Interesting vid, thanks for showing Alvin! Those look like useful books. I still buy them though less.. yes, it takes up space, and heav, dusty.. And woodworms !😨
We love books! Except it's getting harder and harder for me to read hardcopy books 🤓. Have to resort to ebooks where i can increase font size! 😂 thanks for the boat tour, i dint get a chance to go onboard..
What a wonderful idea! I love learning from books. Online videos are great too, but I learn so many more things, and have deeper thoughts from books! 💖📚🛳
