First time watching. That was a master class in SketchUp. I didn't understand half of it, but watching you make the roll top and the drawers was mesmerizing.
I have only been using (learning) SketchUp Pro for a short time and have watched a lot of the more recent Lives and other videos...this is how I wish your Live videos were now! Not very helpful with all the sound effects and constant interruptions from others and not really going into details like you did here. You described what you were doing along the way and talked about the process and tools used throughout this entire video and showed us about mistakes and how to rectify them. This is how we learn better...so Thank You and I will go back to older videos.
Search "Jonathan M" in the 3D Warehouse. I have tons of projects with detailed joinery. There is even a sketch of many woodworking joinery examples. If you want help in how to create these joints, just let me know. I can help.
I suggest instead of modeling some object Aaron, model what you think is the most difficult part in several objects. It will be more interesting and more useful as well.
What is the device you are using with your left hand? It looks like it does all of your orbits and pans? What else do you use it for? -update... I made it to 1:40:00 into the livestream and you spilled the beans - 3DConnexion SpaceMouse Enterprise!
What settings do you use for your 3D mouse, I have the mini one and aside from always going back to object mode rather than camera the spin is very slow compared to other directions.
I absolutely love this video! Thank you so much for sharing! I am not sure what I did wrong, but after I used the follow me tool around the top of the desk I cannot erase the line from the curve without erasing a whole plane? If anyone knows why this happens I would be so grateful! I am a newbe....
Your video is very useful, but there is a lot of time to talk, because I am Vietnamese, do not understand what you say. If you can reduce it for the following videos, it will be better.
