Sketchy wading on slime-covered boulders in search of Winter Steelhead! Timing early Steelhead runs this far north can be tough when conditions aren't optimal yet, but fortunately, through some persistence, we were able to land some nice fish on one of the most iconic Great Lakes fisheries.

I’m really impressed you made it out there without a wading staff. Some of the most clear water I have every fished. I was there in June last year, steelhead run was in full swing and they were targeting pink salmon fray according to John G. He wasn’t wrong…

Complete change of pace compared to what we have down here that's for sure! Smaller concise presentations seemed to be the ticket for a lot of the locals I watched catch fish. Thanks for the watch👍

OMG 😂 you had the rising water level ‼️ sound That happens like never before.. Its scary when you hear it … The st marys gained its reputation years ago as one of the best steelhead fisheries in the world years ago when water levels were low now they just turned it into a white wall of raging water an ruined it. Only time to hit low water is now . or sometimes early spring , Great effort ! nice fish 🔥👍 thanks for the Entertainment

its a 24 foot rise from Superior to St marys an the gates are low as you will ever see right now make your way back dress warm and you might catch the steelhead of a lifetime!!
