Do you know what year of sled the tra bolt can come from? i can get a 98 formula 500 or i can grab a 2008 mxz . im trying to get the primary off a 2002 mxz 380. thanks
Thanks for this. I have a 98 380 skidoo and need to pull the primary off, going to try your trick. Can you not use the original bolt with Teflon on the end or does it need to be TRA clutch bolt? If so why? Thank you!
You can't use the original bolt. Different size and different threads... I will advise you that in some cases, like on the 583, the threads are too fine for this method, and you need a 14x1mm puller...
@@rivervalley4530thanks, mines a 380 so hoping to use the method you used. When you say different threads, im not sure what you mean, pitch? In the video it looks like the tra bolt has only a few threads near the end compared to the original with a longer threaded area. Does the tra bolt still thread into the crank properly?
@@robcober6811 yes the tra bolt with a 14 mm 1.5 pitch will thread into the 380 clutch. The 583 clutch uses a 14 mm 1 pitch. I've noticed that some 550 fans use this same clutch... The 380 clutch is different though. should work as shown in the video. Good luck.
