Hochjoch Totale is a ski run from the top of Hochjoch in Silvretta Montafon all the way to the valley to Schruns. It passes through the longest ski tunnel in the world, some mixed terrain, all the way from blue to black!

I have seen many skiers who skate well and have not seen skiers sitting well on the slope. I have seen a lot of snowboarders who sit well on the slope and have not seen snowboarders who ride well.

Just wow to everything: from perfect snow conditions, to light in the sky without forgetting that camera operator who did a marvellous job. Did you guys wait for the last run of the day? There was virtually nobody on the slopes! Where is it located? Pure bliss. Keep’em coming!

Thank you, thank you! We went last run of the day with the risk of the slope not being the best but at least avoiding the crowds. Must add last year was a bit special in terms of amount of skiers on the mountain so doubt this is an experience I will get to repeat.

It’s trails like this that I wish someday I can do. It’s absolutely stunning and I really hope that I have the possibility of doing this trail someday. If the option ever comes up I will do everything necessary to make it come true. This is amazing and the music and filming is satisfying and amazing!

This is the best ski video I have ever seen. How did you keep the camera so steady. I spent two weeks in Shrunns back in Feb 2020, just before Covid-19 hit, and skied that run many times. There are fantastic views from the top and some good off-piste off the backside of the gondola.

bei 4:46 muss dieser Schwachmat von Snowoarder natürlich hinter der Kuppe sitzen, da krieg ich Hals von. Das ist das was ich meinen Schülern, bin Snowboard-Lehrer beim DAV bei bringe GENAU nicht NIEMALS zu tun. Papa und Kind bei 9:32 auch wieder. Gedankenlos sowas. Pause gibt's nur am Rand der Piste und das bestmöglichst stehend, so schwer ist das nämlich nicht. Aber nie niemals hinter Kuppen, Bodenwellen oder unterhalb von oben uneinsehbaren Gefilden.

Man, your legs must be out of steel, I am a good skier, but I don't think I would be able to do this long of a run in one go without any stops. Will have to try. Unfortunately I was never able to Ski All the way down to the valley, due to a lack of snow, even though I have been at Hochjoch ~ 10 times.

Takes me back. I learned to ski in Schruns in the 80s. That was before the ski tunnel, so we used to lap from Sennigrat to the valley when there was snow in the valley. So much fun. Now I really want to go back and see how much it's changed.

That step-out at 11:04 is a sign of fatigue. Lovely style, you ski like I do in my dreams, sadly (or is it gladly) not as I actually do on the slopes. The videography is excellent, but I wonder how the cammer follows you at speed without the sweeping traverses that you do? It looks almost like a low altitude drone-cam. Very enjoyable though and the music is complementary. New sub… thank you🙏🏻❤️🇬🇧🇷🇴👍🏻

The world longest ski run is "la reine Blanche" in Cervinia , Italy (22km) And "La Sarenne" , Alpe d'Huez, France (16km) Hochjoch Totale is only 6th world (12 km)

beautiful area, had the pleasure of going there a year before this video also in january, sadly we didnt have the opportunity to go all the way to the valley on this route and ended up at the small 2 person lift around 3 / 5ths of the way down. i especially liked the area called gargellen which is the highest mountain top in the montafon area. also had some great valley runs especially route 1 red.

Now that is my kind of skiing. Reminds me of my youth. A little hard (no new snow) but he handled it well as did the camera person. Just one question. I didn't see any breaks in the clip so when did he stop to have a puff and a nip from the flask? I mean c'mon, I was a skiier for over 40 years, I know how this works. Growing up in British Columbia meant you knew what a 'ski day' really meant. Hey, cheers to those with the legs to do what we just watched. Whistler/Blackcomb doesn't quite have that. What we saw was a three stopper even in my best days. :-) Cheers especially to the camera man. Not his first time obviously.

Since I posted that, 🙄I've found out that the SCGB does 'Peak Experience' holidays for 55+ year olds who are trying skiing, both for the first time, and going back into the sport, so all-being-well I'll try skiing again next season, and astonishingly people of my generation - I'm 66 - are the biggest demographic taking up skiing.

Judging from the start, this video seems to be recorded in middle to late afternoon from the long shadows of other people. Perhaps this is the reason for barely anyone on this run and more shaded areas than a sun drenched run. I'm guessing the shade isn't as dark as the video cam makes it appear as the narrow perspective from a video cam appear as very dark with less contrast of snow surface. This takes away from the beauty of this very long ski run. I prefer sunny slopes as this would probably be a dream run for me in early morning to afternoon. But then there's likely to be hundreds of people slowing the flow of good skiers wanting moderate speed.

Indeed it is late afternoon in winter months. Unfortunately it gets nearly impossible to ski at speed at other times while maintaining a follow cam but I would love to film mid day as the GoPro footage looks amazing in direct sunlight.

I did another post earlier. Just want to say thanks. Spinal stenosis and a stroke took me off skis (after 40+years and being a ski instructor) in 2016. That truly gave me the sensation of being on skis again and carving nice arcs. And chapeau to the girl holding the camera. Outstanding videography!

That was one of the nicest looking and well shot ski videos I have seen. If the local tourist board doesn't use it as a promo video then they're missing a major trick. Exccellent job. Slighly confused how the camera ski was running straighter lines and not overtaking the "main" skier but excellent skiing by both parties. I'm not at all jealous of the run and skills on show :)

I have been watching this video over and over for a long while. The music and the skiers rhythm are very engaging. Although I no longer ski. I like to think that if I did I would ski like that. No hesitance, no unnecessary traversing, no shoulders, and fluid below the waist. It is so nostalgic and reminiscent of my days in Austria and France, that it is almost mesmerizing. I hope you make more of these and please include the music. A gps readout for speed and altitude would be even better. Best regards

Thanks! Yes it does, you have to turn off towards the end though where it goes to mostly a transport road but you can glide all the way if there is enough snow.

Hochjoch Totale is 12km long only. The longest ski run (16km) is La Sarenne in Franche Alpes d'Huez. More than 6500 vertical feet! The speed run is sometimes more than 70mph (120km/h)!!!

Excellent skiing. Anyone can learn a lot from this. You have a clean, safe and efficient style that is far more practical than the style shown in some of the instructor videos posted on RU-vid. Those videos often display a pretentious and energy intensive way of skiing that may look good for a minute or two is not sustainable on a run such as this one.

The Ventina in Cervinia, Italy is one of the longest and most beautiful ski-run in the world. 8.5km long and 1,500 difference in altitude. Should try it!

Sorry had to Dislike this video because tooo many “Ziehwege” where you cannot do a singlle turn should not be counted for the longest ski run in the world. Nevertheless: Nice ski brand - and some good carves in your movie Have been in this ski area too but I would never mention this combination of blue connection runs as one of the longes ski runs the world (even if I would be very proud to have one in our country)

Ski Big Air is 10 times cooler than snowboard big air. In fact, just about every trick done on skis blows tricks done on boards away. Way more technical on skis and dangerous on skis.

No stability ride. To low pressure to ski (exactly outside ski). Not paralell legs and "A" figure. Not god pass from turn to turn - why do you rotate ski between turns (to next turn) if you go with long turns and you try carving style ?

I've been snowboarding for over 30 years and have never been to anything over a hill in Michigan. I dream of a long run down a mountain someday but if I'm being honest with myself it will probably never happen. I'm too poor and it's not that high on the list.

The only thing missing is a small ski / snowboard jump just before the paved road, so that skiers & riders can jump over the pavement without having to stop, slow down, or remove their skis or boards. Of course, skiers can simply walk over the pavement with their skis on, as this gentleman did, but who wants to scratch and damage their bases? A ramp style jump that's 1 meter high would be tall enough (perhaps only a half meter tall) -- just tall enough to enable a skier or rider moving 30kph+ to jump over the road ⛷

Would love that! When it has just snowed the road is actually covered and one can just ski over but this would solve the problem for those other days.

What was the rest of the resort like please? 🤔 Would you recommend it? Solden had a long top to bottom run like this, but overall, the resort was small and parts of it got congested.
