Pleasant Mountain in the beginning. The oldest in Maine, 1938. I work there right now.

This was great to watch! I remember skiing these areas as a child and enjoying many of them now as an adult!

3:29 The high peak in the distance is New England's highest point, Mt Washington!

This looks more like it was filmed in the early 60's. Mt Abram, Sunday River, Bald Mountain, and Saddleback all didn't open until 1960.

Most excellent. Interesting to see folks skiing before hard plastic boots. I believe modern boots have made skiing less accessible to the masses. While great for racing, not being able to articulate the ankles and feet makes uneven terrain harder.

Not at all. Grew up with leather boots and straight wood skis with beartrap bindings.Modern equipment makes everything easier to handle.

I am not sure what makes you think this. I was raised on double tie leather boots, wood skies and bear trap bindings. I broke my leg with those bindings. Well into my 60’s I still ski almost every weekend and many weekday’ at Killington Vermont. I ski very well mostly because I have stayed very fit but also because of all the new gear. I love my Atomic Hawks 130 ski boots. They fit like a glove.

Too bad that this video was made before Mt. Agamenticus was built!

Grew up learning to ski on those old boards and beartrap bindings of the time. Current young skiers have no idea how easy the current equipment makes it for them today! Got to visit that radome once with the Boy Scouts at the end of a week long hiking trip on the Appalachian Trail. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andover_Earth_Station
