*LYRIC THE SONG* [Intro: John Cooper] What am I supposed to do? I wanna break out but I’m frozen I’ve been here so long that it hurts just to feel I wanna take back what you’ve stolen I’m searching inside for what’s real [Verse 1: John Cooper] Silenced, compliant Your words are your power over me Rising, defiant The person inside you never see Tossed and torn But I won’t be ignored [Pre-Chorus: John Cooper] There’s so much more to me What am I supposed to do? [Chorus: John Cooper] I wanna break out but I’m frozen I’ve been here so long that it hurts just to feel I wanna take back what you’ve stolen I’m searching inside for what’s rеal I can feel it under my skin I was made for more than this All your powеr disappears like ash in the wind [Verse 2: John Cooper] Two way mirror You lock me inside this cage of glass Screaming, fists beating But no one was ever seeing past Take control cause I won’t be ignored [Pre-Chorus: John Cooper] There’s so much more to me What am I supposed to do? [Chorus: John Cooper] I wanna break out but I’m frozen I’ve been here so long that it hurts just to feel I wanna take back what you’ve stolen I’m searching inside for what’s real I can feel it under my skin I was made for more than this All your power disappears like ash in the wind [Bridge: John Cooper] What am I supposed to do? Gotta free myself from you What am I supposed to do? To do [Pre-Chorus: John Cooper] What am I supposed to do? [Chorus: John Cooper, Jen Ledger] I wanna break out but I’m frozen But I'm frozen I’ve been here for so long it hurts just to feel I wanna take back what you’ve stolen What you've stolen I’m searching inside for what’s real I can feel it under my skin I was made for more than this All your power disappears like ash in the wind [Outro: Jen Ledger] What am I supposed to do? Gotta free myself from you What am I supposed to do?
hi, I'm from Russia, I like heavy metal and other genres for genres, thank you for making such music, English speakers, I am against the war and have nothing against your countries. I send greetings to you and your parents and wish them good health
We love you brother! We understand the oppression you feel in that country. Careful what u post. Our country is on the brink of falling into communism.
This song definitely leads right into another kinda like Circus for a Psycho did into American Noise. I'm an loving this new music coming from Skillet. They have been my favorite band for the last 20 years.
II Samuel 10:12 NKJV [12] Be of good courage, and let us be strong for our people and for the cities of our God. And may the Lord do what is good in His sight.”
You know it's going to be a good song when the beat hits HARD!! I can imagine Jen slamming away on those drums with her style. I love watching her drumming style!!
"I can feel it under my skin I was made for more than this All your power disappears like ash in the wins" For some reason this part of the chorus hits soooooooooo much and soooo right. So many memories and wishes comes out... like.... Somewhere deep inside of me i know i can do more than im doing now and I know I've done so many mistakes in the past too..... Thank you Skillet.!! ♥
Ohh... I was singing along at the third chorus... I LOVED it! Absolutely ADORE it! Yall nailed it and nailed it again with this one, Skillet... and Jens vocals at the end to top it off is just... I can see me not getting much sleep tonight, so don't mind me as I play this on repeat about 20 or so times... maybe more.
That chorus and is awesome! And Koreys little piano medleys are always so good ❤ But BIG WOW to that outro! The emotional impact of Jens vocals and the little piano string bits just really add a punch to this song! ❤
Another very good song from this favorite rock band! The chorus' melody is just wonderful and the lyrics are meaningful, as always. With more Jen's vocals and a guitar solo after the second chorus, it would be perfect. I am really looking forward to listening to the rest of the new album! 🎸🥁🎧🎵🎶
AAHHHH!!!!! I love it, this is amazing!!! I love it so much, it reminds me of Collide and Comatose (this Panhead’s favorite albums!) Thank you Skillet for being so amazing!!! Love you!!! May God bless you!!!❤❤❤❤❤
@frantisekbabic9683 Oh I agree, I say this because eventually every band will stop making albums but still do concerts. So I hope Skillet has a few more albums after this before they finally retire later. Because Skillet is basically a multi-million dollar band at this point John Cooper, Korey, Jen they can all retire at any time, and also how Jen has her own solo album, for me that shows that eventually Jen may start her own albums with her own material. So I agree Skillet isn't done with new songs yet.
@@Benfiester I hope because at least they look like that every single time, they love what they are doing, love creating a new music and I'm sure we are about to have great times !!
Another beautiful song for us. This is truly a gift. Such a clear meaning of how hard it is to break free from your hardships from this world and the enemy. Truly a masterpiece 🥹.
It's a pretty good year for rock fans! Skillet's album is coming soon, Linkin Park is back together and is going to release an album, Adam's returning to Three Days Grace, The Offspring released a new album, and Breaking Benjamin announced an album and released a single!
