This is why you are my favorite reaction Channel, you have amazing musical knowledge and appreciate the things most people miss, like jens snare hit during the intro. I was so happy you picked up on it👌🏾👌🏾
I remember seeing them at Creation West in 2003 or 4 while they were a mid afternoon band on the main stage. Korey was rocking out like always.... 7 months pregnant She always brings it man!
This is my first David Heretic video watched by me. But anyways Sick of It! Sick of It is a really nice song from Rise. I’m going to give it a 7.9. Sick Of It is cool. Really cool. Instrumental wise, probably my favorite part of the song. The opening riff carried the entire song for me. Now there is a solo, and it’s o k a y. Nothing special. That ending, with the 3 guitar strings was SUPER cool. I replay the song every time to hear that ending again. Vocally, John is doing great. He’s hitting screams, sounds amazing always. And his voice is incredibly engaging. I do dig how Korey is handling the guitar, AND the keyboard. What a legend. Clap it up for her 👏🏽 👏🏽 👏🏽 👏🏽. Jen’s drumming is strong as always, Seth is KILLING it with these moves and shredding on that guitar. So yeah. Sick Of It. Awesome. You guys realize I am talking about the Sick Of It on Skillet’s channel right? The ACTUAL studio recorded Sick Of It. Not the version in this vid.
An excellent performance and a good song and intro all around. The call to action also works well with this song since everyone has something that they're sick of, which also goes well with the first few lines of the chorus "If you're sick of it raise your hands get rid of it while there's a fighting chance". Fun fact: the album version of the song is in a higher key than this live performance is (orange instead of green).
Around the 7 minute mark, you were trying to explain what Jen was trying to do on the snare. She wasn't on the "ee", she was on the "uh"...literally that last 16th note before the beat. She was almost hitting the snare as a grace note before the beat.
Love you, SKILLET, and your videos!! Keep them coming! Btw you should do a reaction to Lacey Stuck (formerly of Flyleaf), the song "All Around Me." All of her songs are great, but All Around Me is my favorite! She is also a Christian , sounding like SKILLET genre. God bless you David!! *Lacey and SKILLET have collaborated together in the past.*
Another great reaction, It did sound like Johns voice was getting tired especially if you are right about being at the end. I am so hoping you get to see them in Anaheim next weekend!
Seemed to me like this was the opener rather than the closer - based on the way the crowd was chanting "Skill-et Skill-et!" at the beginning and the way they ran out onto the stage.
Yesterday I was listening to the oldest skillet album called Skillet and I think it's so diffrent. Someone write down the video that it sounds like Nirvana (I am not listening to Nirvana so don't know.) So if you want you should add songs "I Can" and "gasoline". Probablly it's diffrent because only John stays in band till those days.
Apec!!! I like your breakdowns with the notes and the playing etc. I like that you got to see John in his natural habitat, you didn't give him credit, and actually put him down in the one review for not being the center of attention and it was not a fair assessment of him because it didn't stay on him in the one video. They are all good with the showmanship, but this is typical of John with every song at every concert! Jen is awesome, plays hard, keeps up with a very energetic song list and sings in between banging on those drums! More Skillet! Also for more Jen vocals check out her cover of Gravity with a band called Ashes to New.
@@apec335 I'm really far behind in my requests and comments, but I'm glad that you're still on top of the requests, trying to find other stuff ... but I think this is great!
I came back to this review because I think we were BOTH wrong as to when that snare hit is doing the intro. I originally thought that the snare his was on the "uh" of the count, you thought it was on the "ee". It's NEITHER. If you break those sections down, not into triplets in 4/4 time but into a fast 6/8 time, the snare his would be on beat six of the measure. Or, if you prefer the quarter note triplet, imagine splitting the last quarter note of the triplet into two eighth notes...the snare hit is on the second of those two eighth notes.
You need to do yourself a favor and listen to Victorious. I don't know why this song doesn't get more requests. One of the best Skillet songs in my opinion. It hits so hard.
Hi David! Recently discovered your channel and I really like your videos. Definitely my favorite reaction channel! I have some suggestions for Skillet reactions: You Ain't Ready (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-1obJEVDUeM0.html) and Feel Invincible live at Winter Jam 2018 (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-dTqLxa4u8x4.html). Also I was thinking that you could create playlists for artists you react to so it's easier to navigate the channel. Keep up the good work, your videos are really enjoyable! PS. The other guitar player is Seth Morrison :)
If you're interested, the band's story about Jen's audition is pretty fun to listen to. John apparently made Jen play Rush's "Tom Sawyer" thinking it would be too much for her. And it wasn't ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-k3KrgVwGAxA.html
Plus he didn't know how young she was at the time too. He said he wouldn't have auditioned her if he knew. Things would be so different. Jen is such an amazing talent.

Wonder if their faith and history of church attendance contributes to Jon's performance in engaging the audience.🤔Almost like a pastor engaging with a congregation!!..Just an observation..
