He looks so young and energetic. He still has not changed with compassion, pure heart, wisdom, and daring humor. 🎉

AB’s ability to memorize information and data is remarkable. He’s giving a talk without a script!!

Once again, life changing!!! there was once this very compassionate person who taught me a great lesson on how not to live life, by drumming into my head that i should learn from my mistakes. i spent most of my life with low self esteem and at times severely depressed. Being normal, of course i didn't want to be sad, so i did experiment around and did find happiness at times but wasn't sure why; cause i would default back to trying to "learn from my mistakes". But what he said is true, when i was successful, happy and confident, i was learning from my successes not mistakes. Thank you Ajahn Brahm, you legend.

@ReySyndicate: just go to the monastery and see him. He is wonderful. I will share this my personal story with you by way of inspiration and that you really don’t know what’s going to happen day to day. So here goes: I was listening to Ajahn Brahm’s talks on RU-vidRed since 2016 summer and he was so funny that I didn’t even know he’s a real monk...I’m a Catholic actually but now I’ve taken up the precepts since 2019. Anyways, so I was listening to him and laughing away in the middle of my miserable life working as an Operations Director at Santa Clara University here in California. Okay, then I started looking into buddhism more and looked up his monastery online and then in August 2017 I just signed up on the waitlist for his January 2018 retreat in Australia. Now, mind you I did not have that much “accrued leave” and I have 3 small kids and my husband had a pretty intense job as a CFO of a biotech company here in the Bay Area, as well. But I just signed up on the waitlist, and let it go! Then my husband’s company moved to Texas, but he didn’t want to move so he was working remotely from here and didn’t have to drive daily to San Francisco. Then, In October, my health was taking a tumble and my MD put me on a leave of absence. I was pretty sick and had to go to go to hospital every single day, and I was put on medical leave till late February 2018 - with a possible extension of medical leave if I needed surgery. I would know that part only in mid-Feb. So anyways, then in Jan 2018, I got a WhatsApp message from someone at the BSWA saying “we have a spot and you’re on the waitlist, do you want it?”. The retreat started on Friday Jan 19, 2018. and I got this message on the previous Saturday Jan 13. I said “Yes!” I told my husband “I’m going to Australia for a 9 day meditation retreat. I have to go. It’s a bucket list item. It’ll give you practice to take care of the kids solo anyways”. He didn’t have much choice actually. I went on my bank “travel rewards points” and used my points for the ticket which I booked same week. I left California on Wednesday 1/17 and reached Australia on Friday morning 1/19. The retreat went from 1/19-1/27 Sunday and then I came back here to California. I went to my ectoscopy and all my diagnostic tests and it was ALL CLEAR. My MD (thank God) was/is a very non traditional western medicine guy even though he is a licensed MD and he has seen these sorts of “spontaneous remission” things. I returned to work in March 2018 and gave notice to my toxic boss that I was leaving at the end of that academic year May 2018 and resigned. Now, I am studying to become a clinical psychologist and getting my doctoral degree. Normally people may take 5 years to finish but I live a very balanced life and I may take 7-10 years and that’s okay. From that time, to now, I have had the opportunity to go to Ajahn Brahm’s retreats THREE times! The last time I went was in November 2019 as my mother turned 70 in Jan 2020 and was coming here to the US from India. She came and celebrated her birthday and went back in February 2020, and one week after she left the whole lockdown started here! What timing! 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼 And so yes, if you really want to go see him, just go! Even if it doesn’t look likely right now, who knows? Something may turn out 💕 Sending you metta! 💕😇
