As a kid in the 50’s and early 60’s worked for an automotive rebuilder for rebuilding generators, alternators and ac motors. While our shop was air conditioned and well lit and ventilated it was a hands on type of work with few machines used in the rebuilding process. You have to give these people great applause for doing good work under the conditions they have to work. I’m sure the pay they work for is subsistence and little more. Call it what you want,I say they are really talented.
@@micahevans3443 I was about to say the same thing, in the west we are now in a throwaway economy, hardly anything is repaired these days, when I was a youngster everything was repairable, my car bumper got hit in a supermarket car park and was chipped, I could not find anywhere that was prepared to repair it, in fact most of the places I approached said it couldn't be repaired, I did it myself with a plastic welding kit from China, all in all it took me a couple of hours work and I saved over £1000, the bottom line is they can make more profit selling you a new part rather than repair it. Just like we have recycling laws we should have repair laws, this would cut down on carbon emmisions.
I agree, I lived in India for 4 years teaching businessmen and women who already spoke English (English is the national language of India) the many different regional accents and colloquialisms of England. You can walk down the workshop streets of any Indian town or city and each street will have small workshops like the ones we saw that specialise in all different kinds of production and repair, nothing is wasted in Asia, they even repair shoe soles and heels with old tyres. You will even see people just sat at the side of the road engaged in their repair work, my leather sandles were in need of repair, I spotted a chap sat at the side of the road doing leather repairs, now there is the caste system in India and this chap was most likely an untouchable and despite the caste system now being illegal it still operates, that caste system dictates that I being a middle-class westerner that people frown upon me having anything to do with the lower castes, well I said sod that, here is a chap providing the service I require and so I asked him to repair my sandles, when he was done I asked him how much was the cost, now most Indians would have tried to charge me many many times the correct price, but this chap charged me just 3 rupees for 5 minutes work, I wasn't about to pay him pennies for his work, he deserved to earn a living, and I thought his honesty deserved recognition, I gave him his 3 rupees and another 100 and a pack of cigarettes, the work he did was first class and he waxed my leather after cleaning them also, we had drawn a small crowed who were amazed that a rich westerner (in their eyes) would employ an untouchable, in fact one man told me I was not to have anything to do with these people. I corrected him and told him India would never truly advance with attitudes like this, and that I was letting him repair my sandles not marrying his daughter.
I see a lot of this street factory clips and every time I am surprised of the skills of these people. They can repair every motor or what ever with a minimum of tools. with very much patience they are working. Just great

And just gets on with it as 5hey do not know any other way. Not like the western world that wingers at a drop of a hat. Great recyclers ❤@@gordonwelcher9598
I don’t know where this is, but I remember as a child, we had to do these sort of things all the time, as it was poor in my part of Alabama. These are skills that are vanishing many parts of the earth, and will be something to serve these youngsters well for the rest of their life. Much love to you from Alabama, USA
I have a motorbike, I prefer fixing the parts than buying a new one, even though it's way cheaper buying another brand new. I guess fixing broken things make us feel more useful as men.
i bet the people who designed those parts originally never imagined someone would be breaking them down and repairing them decades later. the more i watch this the more interesting it gets. very good display of excellent repair skills. this is quite advanced repair.
I totally agree with you, i really enjoyed watching these fellows doing this complicated work and very astonished by the levels of skills and patience and precision they have. 😊
Man do I love these videos, it’s like feeding an addiction , I also enjoy doing work like this myself, there’s something so satisfying about bringing something back to its former glory by hand and having to come up with clever ways to make it happen. What I find so fascinating is the replacement parts, speciality or proprietary parts that are needed to make new again , 2 blocks away some other outfit is producing these things to sell. Love how self sustaining the country is, I guess the US was like this many years ago, all the small towns with specialized labor and production. I believe these people love their work, you can tell by the level of skill and pride. Someone will always point out the conditions in which they work or how it’s slave labor, I don’t think that’s the case I think these people are just too used to the luxuries and entitlement they’ve gotten used to
@@bmoosethemaker4685 you are naive. It’s not slave labor but it is work that no one would under these conditions if they didn’t have to. If you disagree find me a volunteer. Of course, I admire these courageous people and I am sure that they take pride in their work.
Nonsense, is skilled craftsman and engineers have moved on to build machines and systems that do those boring 3rd world country jobs. Oh and yes, child labor, we don’t have either.
Child labor in itself isn't a bad thing at all. The exploitation of child labor is. Automation is also not a bad thing but we need to be aware that that isn't free from exploitation and pollution either. Dumping your truck because the ecstatic value is quite a selfish thing to do, just like exploiting children is for example.
Don't let the size of these motors fool you, they are very powerful and fast, you can not run them with out a load, they will fly apart. The skills these guys have at making such beautiful motors is amazing. These types of motors are my favorite.
no...... this is so sad ......... to see people reduced to such poverty that they are forced to do such meaningless work like this ......... would you like to be doing this all day ??........ this is nothing to be admired , poor people making it possible for you to have the life you have
I've never started a CAT @@vintageretro2562 I do not benefit from his meaningless work! Though if my Suzuki k6 750 starter motor needs a rewind.... I know where go =)
Use to visit the Long Beach Naval Shipyard where they had a shop that did motor rewinding/ rework. It’s such a contrast to see this very basic manufacturing site versus a USA version in the 1980s. Amazing!
Sir this is Pakistan where everything is manufactured or recreated in these shops across the country especially in Pun jab.Though a nuclear power most of the people live respectable lives nothing like the West but the ability to do things by hand is outstanding. Thank you
@@rashidzaidi5211 But India and pakistan are from the same tribe. They even speak the same native language but are simply divided by religion. Thank you
I was a Engineering factory manager in Pakistan and found that those repairs which were impossible were made possible this way. Motors winded for repairs like this gave service for years to come.

I can’t express how amazing these hard-working people really are. They are inspiring and could teach many lessons around the world about quality work and pride in one’s job.

Magnifique.
Amazing. I see they must test throughout the process to insure no short. If found it's start all over again. Great job & my respect for their skill & hard work! Thank you for sharing.

Although gloves are tricky to work with, they are vital for this kind of work. the boy is amazing indeed, and this is the kind of education which is relevant and appropriate.
This is true recycling if it can be made it also can be repaired. Very skilful people that still know on how to . Congratulations to you all hard working people. ❤
I once had a mechanics manual (now buried in the sands of time) from the very early 1900s, and this is how it was done. Minus the epoxy of course. These men have job security for life.
Looked like 3 generations working together to rebuild this armature they even had a 'growler to test it. Realy enjoyed this session, very Labour intensive, repairs like this in the western world don't happen much any more due to the Labour costs. But when you have nothing and there is a demand these people have a job for life.
Nota 10. Parabéns para o mestre barbudo. Que DEUS abençoe a todos sempre 🇧🇷
This American electrician approves. That's real skill right there. I've tried to repair damaged windings to a motor before, but had no luck so we decided to disassemble the motor to find out which winding bundle failed. The disassembly process was brutal. We were surprised a Baldor 3-phase motor proved to be more unreliable then the Chinese motor we replaced it with, which has been working a lot longer. China may not be able to make good VFD's, unlike Japan and America, but their motors are really decent. I still cannot believe those guys refurbished that rotor from a motor at a street shop that's just downright impressive.
