no not a good idea how is that working out? once they get a hold of your payment info your in trouble. gave me that year deal and 3 months later tried to hit me with another year charge.
@@rachel.schmidt privacy is a financial service that allows you to link your bank account and make decoy cards to use and you can make it a one-time card or a merchant card. You can close cards anytime
So why can't you watch a list of courses so you can decide whether you want to join. The first thing you meet when you click onto their page is a registration form for credit card information.. Very unsympathetic.
I think $168 a year is very fair. I would do the monthly $32 a month because of the heads up you mentioned. The way I see it, when I was in college, there were other students that just didn’t want to be there. I sat in front of the class like a nerd. Trust me I’m no nerd. Anyway, thank you so much for the info.
If you love learning- especially in a lesson structure, skillshare is definitely a worth it because you can watch so many different classes! As long as you are self motivated to actually utilize it 🙂
I think Udemy is better for students because you just pay per course. In my case I only do a couple a year so it makes better financial sense and there is a bigger catalogue of courses.
Ik this is an old comment but I have access to LinkedIn Learning as part of my local Library membership. It's entirely free except for like a $3 fee to replace the card if I ever lose it.
yeah but somehow I find Skillshare has better standards on the video and audio quality. Udemy makes me mad ,when you pay for a course about music theory with really terrible audio (a lot of background noise, recorded with the cheapest mic, probably from a headset... 🙉) although there are a lot of FREE Udemy courses to se see,😀
@Bettina Corbitt check out your library first you might get access to many of the same courses for free. For example the CompTIA A+ course I found on my free LinkedIn Learning stuff is the same course as a guy I know paid for on Udemy. You also might be able to find books or other material to borrow. There's even libraries that offer free in-person classes for stuff. Always check your local libraries (your city and any library you can reasonably drive to).
Wasn't a very good review. What does it mean "a classroom setting"? Do they have the option to get questions answered by the author? Can a deaf person use the service? What are the supported media formats? The categories available, like a pilot or plumber. Lots of details missing.
I think it also depends heavily on the subject you want to learn about, I wanted to learn video/photo editing and watercolors, the more technical side of the video/photo editing was much better explained in a course but the watercolor courses were just so basic, stuff you could learn on RU-vid for free. There are some subjects that just need a more detailed explanation more than others, like intricate settings of editing software
I tried skillshare when it first started and was terribly disappointed. I am sure there may have been many changes since then, but I found the classes poor quality and not any better than what I had found for free on RU-vid. I had purchased an annual membership, but when I tried to cancel a month in, they would not prorate the membership. In other words, I cancelled but still had to pay for the year. UGH! Great review by the way :)
Whatever you do I want you to keep going because your presentation and everything is perfect on this video you have a good grasp whether you realize it or not your presentations is excellent
I just got the 1 year plan because of how detailed you were :) id definitely recommend changing your thumbnail styles though But your explaining are definitely on point :) thanks a lot
I canceled my subscription and they still charged me 280$ for a yearly subscription which I never even signed up for. I found out and I canceled my subscription, deleted my payment information, but they still managed to charge me 280$ for the 2nd time in a couple of days, and they are completely ignoring my emails. I emptied my bank account and they keep trying to charge me the same amount over and over again but thankfully now the payment isn't going through, I found other people who had the same issue so be careful.
This video was very helpful and you were very sincere! I’ve been wrestling with the idea of shelling out the cash for Skillshare for a couple of years now. Books on the topic don’t really address a RU-vidr’s use of Final Cut Pro and they go out of date so fast. Thank you again for your review! ❤❤
Thank you so much for the review I was really on the edge if I wanted to try it out, but after watching your video I definitely probably will try it out😁
I just started my channel a month ago and know nothing. So i signed up for skillshare to learn how to use Canva. We'll see where things go from here. So far so good!
I've been wondering the same thing but from what I've heard is they have more in depth videos on the subject and they are longer than on RU-vid. So I guess yes there is more you can learn on skillshare?
I believe you can learn anything on RU-vid, but you have to find it. Skillshare has more organized in depth classes on a specific subject so it is much more efficient. With that said, I’m still a huge fan of RU-vid to find the answer and learn new things 😊
Thank you for your honesty. Do you have to pay for individual courses in addition to the membership fee? If not how do the content creators get paid for their courses? Thank you in advance.
I don't think $168 per year is very expensive to get access to all those courses. I think it's fair as long as you use it regularly. If they don't charge money then no one will want to teach on there. It's not very expensive. Netflix is about the same price, and it's just entertainment mostly. Online courses give you skills that make you more marketable.
LOL "I have seen a skill share ad" 🤣🤣you do sound like the AD. FCP is great. It was pretty easy for me to pick up as I am graphic designer and I know a lot about PS. I know what you mean about memberships. I joined Babble and it is not expensive. Even though I did not use it for a long time due to all these things that happened in my life. But it is super affordable so I didn't mind. And I am starting to use it again. Yes annually is way better and that is not a bad price. This was a great review. New subbie here and I am so going to check out his channel! Hope we can connect and keep up the good work! 👍😘
I thought this was a helpful video. I have been a Udemy user for a while and have purchased lots of courses. I hadn't logged in for a while and when I tried to log in recently, I had a message (like a lot of people apparently) that my account was temporarily suspended. The message provided and email address for questions. Despite several emails to that address, I still cannot get in and cannot access the courses I paid for and no one will respond. So...I am looking into Skillshare. Thanks for this video 😁
l am still in high school,l am not interested in going to college or university so l want to do online courses and skillshare has been recommended. Can l join the courses even if lm not in the US?
they dont offer a monthly subscription anymore…? its seeming more and more like a money grab. it keeps getting more and more expensive, and with only the annual membership i have to pay 120 a year… i really hope i can use it often enough to justify paying that while making minimum wage.
I got hit with the 160 too! I had canceled last year but they have an automatic renewal I wasn’t aware of, and so they charged me this years fee 😓 I deleted the account completely bc I don’t wanna risk it happening again
bro i’m having the worst luck with skillshare. I fully cancelled my free trial WEEKS ago. and they still charged me $165 for a year subscription. even tho I cancelled. Tried contacting customer service, 0 luck so far.
I wish I use it more than I do.. but I have taken a couple other classes are they were helpful and well organized!! I stand by my initial review. It’s a great resource if you have a specific plan to use it 😊
I loved the video, I know now is not the right time for me, have too much going on, definitely will consider joining. My granddaughters name is Rachel, she’s my princess 👑 can’t wait to tell her about you, what if I subscribe for 2 you think I’ll get a better deal? lol 😂 when I do give it a try, will definitely let you know if they go out of their way to want and keep me as a costumer.. Namaste 🙏🙌🙌🙌 I’ll pass this on!!!
