Thankyou doc!!! I'm so happy more board certified dermatologists are making yt channels that makes it easier for us to gain informations onlineeee. Tanong ko lanng po, I was prescribed with epiduo forte, but it's kinda pricey, can I ask if may cheaper options or alternatives po ba don or pag ipunan ko nalang po talaga? TYIA Doc!!!
Hi harold. Thank you for your support! But with regards to your question, it would be best to ask the doctor who prescribed you with epiduo kc cya ung nag assess sayo and nakakita sa condition mo para tama din and angkop sa skin issue mo ung mabibigay. Marami kc pwedeng alternative ti epiduo, depending on which condition you want to treat :)
Having oily skin is an understatement on my case, i think the classic pinoy teasing "pwedeng pamprito nang itlog" is literally addressed to me. I don't really know what to do or think about it. Question! is there a disorder or disease that makes an individual super oily? Like in my case, i have very...VERY oily face(luckily i dont have much pimples as i clean my face regularly) but i do have SUPER large pores. Scalp is literally dripping with oily after few hours of waking up and yes...sadly io am balding! Yellow, oily, and fast production of ear wax! Scars in several parts of my body due to pimple that randomly pops(some even borders on becoming boils if left untreated!). It is not only my face that i am concerned about but with my body as a whole. It is easy to just wash with a salicylic facial wash to get rid of oil momentarily, but to be oily all over is a different thing.
I'm currently a third year medical student and I have an oily acne prone skin since I started taking antipsychotic medications. I tried using gentle skincare products that minimized my acne, it is not as worse as before but I'm having a hard time in removing PIE. I can't give up my antipsychotic medications though.
@@slickrick5596 the cleanser has the ph of 7 which means that it is neutral - not basic which is quite similar to syndet bars. That doesnt make your skin a ph 7. Plus a lof of newer retinol formulations are not ph sensitive anymore.
Hello, Doc! I hope this gets noticed. I have oily acne prone skin and I’ve been struggling acne (mostly comedonal). I got a tretinoin (cream, 0.05%) prescription from my derma and my face gets oily still after applying it to my face but I noticed that some of my acne were gone after several months of using it. Another concern of mine is the PIE. Will the CeraVe Salicylic Renewing Cleanser help with my oily skin as well as the red marks? Thank you!!
Hiii doc skintype: oily and acne prone skin Skin concern:oily skin and acne big pores Hiii doc I have a question since I use a niacinamide10%+zinc% serum type mas lalo Po ako nag oily looks very greasy and super shiny Po Ano Po ba ang maganda alternative sa niacinamide for May skintype Thanks in advance doc 🙏❤️
Hello doc, new subscriber here! I already consulted with a derma and she prescribed me to use epiduo forte ( been using this for three months already) and also take spironolactone for two weeks. I just want to ask kung ipagpapatuloy ko parin po ba ang pag-inom ng spironolactone kasabay ng epiduo forte? Thank u for the informative videos doc!💗
Hello! Since you are already being managed by a dermatologist, it would be best to address the question to him/her, since he/she has seen and examined your skin :)
Hello doc im 14 i have acne ibeen using three products, lumiac foaming cleanser, toner, and adapalene benzoyl peroxide 0.01% its been 1½ of a month my acne havent go away ? Btw should i use sunscreen and moisturizer i have oily skin ?
Thank you for the video po! Just to make sure lang po, are all of the ingredients you listed in the video fine for 13-15 yr olds to use? Is there also any other recommended ingredients for people with the same age as before ?
Youre welcome and thank you din! To answer your question, Yes, but please note that these are general recommendations that are not meant to replace a proper dermatological consultation that of course comes with a thorough assessment of your skin and skin issues :) sa totoo lng kc unless may acne talaga, i dont recommend that individuals 18 yrs and under use too many products on their skin :)
@@irenegaile Thank you so much po! I was actually thinking of getting a serum or an essence but I thought it might be better to go back to the basics; But I was not sure what were the best ingredients were the best so this video was very helpful po:)
Hi Doc! Been binge watching all your videos recently hehehehe. I learned a lot po. May I ask po for advice Doc, i am using celeteque with niacinamide facial cleanser po. And I am planning to switch to Klenzit salicylic acid facial wash po due to enlarged pores and oily face. I want to address my oily face, enlarged pores, pigmentation, and dark spots po kasi. Thanks in advance for the feedback Doc!
Hello po doc, new subscriber po ako. Oily skin po ako and i'm currently using tretinoin cream po and just found out na may citric acid po pala yung ginagamit kong moisturizer po. Okay lang po ba yun or need ko po magchange ng moisturizer? Thank you so much po. 😊
@@irenegaile waaah!! 😊 Nakakatuwa ang bilis mag reply ni Doc. 😊🥰 May isa pa po pala akong tanong. Can i use salicylic acid facial wash po at night and gentle cleanser in the morning? Sorry po andaming question, last na po talaga. Thank you so much po ulit.
Doc yung baby powder poba pwede ko I apply after moisturizer para hindi po sobrang oily Ng face? And yung baby powder poba is masama sa pimples? thank you po😊
If you ask me ok lng naman. Just be careful not to inhale the particles when you apply. I dont think powder directly causes acne but of course u have to properly clean your face -double cleanse if necessary-to prevent build-up and clogging of pores.
Hi 👋🏻 I was just wondering what type of moisturiser you would recommend to use on the body and face cream/lotion/gel? I can’t stand the feeling of moistures on my body it feels sticky and never fully absorbs I feel like my skin just can’t breathe, I think I have combination skin it’s oily at times in particular places on my face/head/hair but my face looks like it needs some plumbing and my legs are dry, I tend to have a shower and cleanse then moisturise when I get out I leave it on my skin for a few hours then jump back in the shower just to wash the moisturiser off then my skin feels really nice and soft but it’s a hassle would love some advice. ❤️🙏🏻
Hlo doc .|| I have allergy from perfume ( fragrance ) mostly product have fragrance in their ingredients .what should I do which product is suitable for me . My skin is oily sensitive acne prone .
Actually thinking of making a video about this one kc nauuso. But in a nutshell, the ingredients found in legit rejuv sets are not bad- in fact when used properly, ok naman sila. The problem arises kapag hindi properly informed ung patients about the possible side effects of misused ingredients that are normally prescription medications like hydroquinone and tretinoin. That’s why most dermatologists will caution against the use of rejuvenating sets without really knowing what they contains and how to use them.
hello Dra. Gaile😘.. may i ask po if totoo po bang nkakaregulate din sa oil production sa facial skin ung pag take ng zinc supplement(10mg,20mg) everyday?
@@irenegaile...ow i see...thank you for replaying my message doc😘❤️... currently nirereview at inaaral ko po ung mga videos mo about sa skin ntn, marami kana pong natulungan at matutulungan pa❤️.. thanks you so much and Godbless po
Hi doc i am 14 yrs old also i have oily acne prone and i am suffering now with mild to moderate acne skin does cleanse, tone, moisturize and putting sunscreen in my face will work for me to treat my acne and is it necessary? if i put serum on my face Thanks
Please watch my video on how to treat mild to moderate acne :) try the ingredients I recommended, if hindi mag work, then it’s time to consult a dermatologist :)
Hello! I wouldn’t say mas matagal tumanda, rather people with oily skin sometimes mas mabagal magkaroon ng fine wrinkles as they age especially in areas like the forehead. Also some say that the excess sebum gives an antioxidant benefit and protection from environmental stressors because it contains vitamin E.
Hello doc! May question po ako 😊 Oily skin po ako. Recently I’m using COSRX AHA/BHA Toner po 3 times a week at night lang po. Maganda po sya sa skin ko except sa chin area. Do you have any idea po bakit kaya ganun? Sa chin area lang po ako nagkaroon ng pimples upon using the product. Salamat po Doc. Btw skincare ko po ay ganito: Morning: Simple facial wash Belo Sunscreen with niacinamide Evening: Simple facial wash COSRX AHA BHA Toner (3 times a week) Cetaphil Moisturizer
It could be maskne or purging, pwede din from your toothpaste etc. I would recommend that you consult para ma assess ng mabuti ung skin mo and mabigyan ka ng tamang management. It’s hard to give an answer without really doing a consultation :)
Hi doc how to reduce the appearance of sebaceous filaments? And how to get rid bumps on nose and how to prevent it , I've been using tretinoin for more than 5 months, HUHU hoping for your answer. Thank you:-)
Hello! managing oil production may help reduce the appearance of pores and sebaceous filaments. Apart from extractions, I find that salicylic acid toners in addition to retinoids help. Individuals with oily acne prone skin are able to tolerate the combination of both ingredients.
Not necessarily :) it just means that your oil glands produce more oil than normal. It can be triggered or exacerbated though by certain factors like your hormones, particularly androgens, hot and humid weather etc :)
@@irenegaile thankyou Doc! btw someone just telling me that her skincare regimen can moisture her dry skin (because of weather at new place) when she apply it but her skin get dry back when bare face (without it moisturizer). am i wrong if i say that actually moisturizer is work only it's applyed on the skin and can't moisture permanently so she should apply it consistently? or any moisturizer that can make dry skin moisturized even when she's not apply it?

Mag one month na po ako sa tretinoin 0.5 cream this 25th. Naging oily po face ko and parang nagdarken. Normal lang po ba yun when starting tretinoin? Thanks po doc in advance🥰
Hello! Hindi dapat. Tretinoin is supposed to regulate skin turnover and somewhat regulate sebum production. Nagkaroon ba ng irritation after using tretinoin? In any case if it persists talk to the derm who prescribed it to you and ask for other options.
@@irenegaile hi po doc. Yun nga po pinagtataka ko. Hindi po ako nagkaron ng irritation or breakouts po. Ang concern ko po is naging mas oily po mukha ko even after washing my face then after 30mins mag oil napo siya even i am not putting anything sa face ko po
Good evening po, Doc! I have been using 0.5 % salicylic acid cleanser for almost 2 years now, it works for me (as anti-acne and regulates my oil production as well) but it doesn't remove my blackheads. Do I need to buy salicylic acid cleanser with higher percentage to maximize it's efficacy on my skin? Thank you so much! Stay safe and God bless, Doc!
You might need to add keratolytics in your skincare routine like retinoids :) Sometimes, benzoyl peroxide helps. Or if none of these work, they might not even be blackheads, and in that case I recommend that you consult a dermatologist na :)
Hi doc can i use the ordinary aha bha with their .2% retinol? I would use the aha bha once a week and the retinol maybe 3x a week but i wont use them together at the same day. Is that fine or do i have to stop using the aha bha?
They are ok to use together as long as your skin can tolerate it. I use glycolic acid 5% toner with encapsulated retinol +vitamin c and e. However, if you are trying it out for the first time, i recommend you start slow and pakiramdaman mo kung kaya ng skin mo :)
Good evening po Doc! ☺ Gusto ko lang po magtanong. First time ko po gagamit ng mga skin care products. I bought some products from Snail White po (whip soap, toner, booster, day cream) tapos bumili din po ako ng Luxe Organix Rosewater soothing gel (mosturizer).
Thank you doc 😘
Hi doc can i use serum with👇 5% niacinamide 0.75% bha? Skin concern:medyo oily, visible pores, blackheads(nose) or gagamit nalang po ako ng separate na product like facial wash w/ 1% bha and 5% niacinamide serum?thanks♥️
Many things can trigger hives, in my experience salicylic acid is not one of them. Pero hindi obig sabihin na impossible. Kaso malalaman mo lng when you try it. I suggest u do a test spot first for a few days :)
Thanks Doc, for another informative video. Now I know how to deal with my oily skin type. Also Doc, I want to ask if blackheads removal product is advisable to use?
