Skin removal after extreme natural weight loss!
**Thanks to LMNT for sponsoring this video! Head to DrinkLMNT.com/L... to get your free sample pack with any purchase.
In 2018 my husband and I lost 100+ pounds on a meat only carnivore diet. We have been working to maintain that weight loss ever since. December 7th last year I had an extended tummy tuck (skin removal) and diastasis recti muscle repair.
November 20th 2023 Chris had the same surgery. I recorded his surgery and documented a lot of his recovery for this video. Let me know if you would like to see more follow ups and ask in the comments any questions you have for us

it is interesting how some have loose skin and some do not as much :) for sure each one of us has our own journey and path doing this congrats of course and heal well ;) I do live in PHX also :) but 4 yrs carnivore now and a year of keto before that over 100 lbs lost at 5'11" back to 180 lbs and life-changing for sure any one on the fence start TODAY :)
@LauraSpath
@LauraSpath 9 месяцев назад
There are a lot of factors: age, genetics, and where you carried your weight are the biggest ones. Yes being properly nourished, fasting, and eating lots of protein helps with skin elasticity but there is absolutely nothing we could have done to get rid of this skin without surgery.
@LauraSpath

@@LauraSpath YUP and that is the thing that is so unique about how each one of us was created :) I like to think some things help with fasting or taking collagen but really NO WAY to test or know if it does and when others do the same thing and have different results ya have to go hmmmmmmmmm and I do realize it can't hurt but IT IS NOT going to be a for sure thing either
@MinimalistCarnivore
@MinimalistCarnivore 9 месяцев назад
@@LauraSpath like the other response YUP for sure also, why in your families case to get Surgery NOBODY can say anything about it other than support because we are all on our own path and the fact you truly did try and waited SO LONG for results :) again sincere hats off to you both :) the interesting is more how to put in words that even if we do the same thing we get different outcomes and that is just interesting as to why which makes me want to dig deeper into it maybe to say :) also important for all ON their journey to just focus on their own journey and not try to compare with others :) lucky each person who shares their journey other folks can understand why this did or did not happen to them and it is OK :) hard to put that in words ! hahahahaha

@@LauraSpath 10000% agree. Sick and tired of the Google keyboard doctors bullying people online say that they should have fasted more or should have been on a stricter carnivore diet, that is BS. As you stated, lots of factors involved. Many have done everything correctly and still have loose skin. I always default back to Dr. Robert Cywes, MD PhD and most importantly a bariatric surgeon and weight loss specialist who has seen hundreds of 100lb. Weight loss cases, many of those without the bariatric surgery, some might have only had a temporary balloon or temporary band and others just diet, lifestyle and of course Exercise. He says the exact same thing - "multiple factors involved and even if a person does everything correctly, there will still be loose skin".

Ty for doing this, in a way the fear of how hard the loose skin reduction process will be has kinda stopped me seriously trying to lose weight most of my life...But ive done Carnivore for 5 weeks now and already lost 12KG (26.5 pounds). Ty for your inspiration to keep going. While im losing weight im going to be as strict as I can, but i can see this being a better lifestyle eventually when I see you guys eating spices. sour cream, cheese etc... I look forward to putting spices on steak one day!

I have undergone multiple surgeries on my trunk, and I must say, they have been incredibly painful experiences. The drains, in particular, have been quite unpleasant! It's truly eye-opening to realize just how crucial our abdominal muscles are and how much we rely on them for even the simplest movements. By the way, I don't recall you ever mentioning what happened to Chris's arm. Would you mind sharing, or if that is private I understand!

Oh I feel for him . Due to my second cancer and finding out I have the BRCA2 gene, I went ahead and had a total hysterectomy and a double mastectomy-were they take the lower abdominal part of me and then transfer that up on top so when I came out walking from that surgery, it was just like him stooped over and very slow walking. But I’m sure you and the kids are going to dote on him, for awhile anyways. What an amazing life style example you two are for all of us to watch you. Thank you God bless and fast recovery.

I had a breast reduction 7 years ago and even though I had 3 different doctors advocate for insurance to cover the procedure, insurance would NOT do it. So we paid almost 9K out of pocket. I have another 35 pounds I’d like to lose and then we will see what the skin situation is. I am fairly certain our insurance wouldn’t cover that either.

Beautiful family. You are all really good ppl. I have been enjoying your channel so much since I found you. I’m on day 8 of carnivore after 5 years of keto/dirty keto. I am an RN so I understand the science, now, of the Diet. I’m feeling good and I made brown butter bites to combat the sweet cravings that I have at night. I know I’m not spending more money on groceries bc I’m not buying low carb peanut butter flavored keto protein powder, powdered collagen , keto snacks, vegetables and keto foods. Those were really pricey. Oh I also was using veggie powder daily. My favorite it ground beef and eggs. Ground beef w sour cream and chicken salad the way you make it. It’s amazing. I’m not a steak person but I’m making myself eat it but not every day. I love pork chops. I was wondering if that’s ok. I haven’t seen anyone talk about pork meat. Tysm. ❤

No way I could ever afford that surgery so I guess I have flappy skin to look forward to. But I haven't even started the diet yet so maybe I'll hit the lottery by then, lol. Currently I am 5'9" and 275 lbs. Most of the fat I have accumulated has been from drinking 4 cases of beer a week for the last 26 years and hardly ever exercising. I haven't been a fan of candy, cake, ice cream or sweet things since before I was 16. Then I rarely ate and if I did it was pizza or fast food. Back when I was 18 I was 5'9" of course, but I only weighed 150lbs. I don't want to become a skeleton again but I would love to not want to throw up when I look at myself in the mirror and have tons my energy and strength again. Please pray for me everyone! Wonderful to see Chris looking so well, fit and happy! Such a huge difference already and he's still in early healing. I can't wait to see his next 4 weeks! Wishing both of you and your two beautiful children a Merry Christmas! In, to your mother, as well! ❤ 💚🦌🎄♥️🎅🏻♥️🎄🦌💚

I had my gall bladder removed via 4 incision in my stomach. You poor things had it much harder but I can relate. I remember being surprised how much you use your stomach….. all day long for every little thing. Something you don’t realize when you’re well. Ouch!
