Welcome back to Skincare 101, where Kavita will introduce you to the Konjac Sponge and how to get the best out of this skin cleansing tool!
Konjac Sponges are made from the root of the Konjac plant, and is an all-natural, bio-degradable and extremely gentle tool.
You can use it every day as part of your cleansing routine.
It is available in two variants - Original for normal to dry skin and the Charcoal Bamboo variant for oily and acne prone skin.
Soak your Konjac sponge in water for a few minutes to recharge it and to make it soft and supple for use.
Gently squeeze between your palms to remove all excess water.
Add a small amount of your favourite cleanser and gently rub in circular motions to cleanse and exfoliate your skin.
Rinse after use, squeeze out the water and leave to dry in a well ventilated area.
In order to prevent bacteria buildup and to prolong the life of your Konjac Sponge, it is important to clean it regularly.
While you rinse your sponge every day after each use, it is also important to do a deep clean every week just like you clean your makeup brushes.
Just pop the sponge into a bowl of boiling water for about 60 seconds.
With good care and cleaning your sponge should last you for 2-3 months.
Konjac sponges are biodegradable. When you need to replace your old sponge, don't just throw it away.
You can compost it quite easily in your garden!
