I agree with this. Had a conversation on the course today about how EAL embodies everything I love about this game. The people, the stories, the experiences. Thankful to be some small part of it.
Every one of these makes me jealous to go to Scotland. I get tired of constant cloudless sunlight and palm trees every day. I make sure I get some variety and take road trips regularly
One thing I love about this series as a historian is that Erik blends the golf itself with the experience of visiting a country with such a rich past. Well Done!!!
Brilliant ! Played Leven a couple months back and Lundin a couple weeks back. Was really nice to hear you say how welcoming and friendly we are here in Scotland...Haste ye back !!
And great thing in winter its only like 20 pound to play, great atmosphere as full of members as not overly expensive. Erik your scottish series as someone who is scottish is great and you did great job showcasing everything from friendliness to the courses and towns.
You guys are awesome. Salts of the earth. You make our nation so proud with your beautiful comments to the game that we all have in common, with your infectious Californian laid back attitude. Massive thanks for these brilliant video blogs. Watching these when we are in lockdown with covid19. And once this is over, as we say here, haste yee bac. P.s. if you do come back try Newmachar g.c.
Eric, your videos are an inspiration. I make one video per week, for my channel, (completely different subject matter) which is just about all I can squeeze out of my life. I take a lot from your channel, your style of edit, your attitude to your subject matter... and if I come up with something the other end of an edit 10% as good as yours I feel I have done well. Keep going, this is an amazing channel.
Great series in scotland i really do hope you come again you do scotland a great service and gently reminds us how lucky we are to have some great courses around its not just st andrews and carnoustie ,,,, great to hear you have been welcomed so warmly also we can be good hosts and your gent .
Finding an amazing Course in Scotland is like shooting fish in a barrel. You can feel the history of these Courses through the screen. I've always wanted to visit Scotland to play, but seeing the secret Courses you've found, I don't think I'd make it to St Andrews. It looks as though there's great experiences to be had everywhere.
Eric and Scotland....hit the like! Sit back and enjoy. Especially as Eric really gets it. Scotland, Scottish courses, history and scenery.mdoesnt get better than this, thanks
Leven is 30 minute drive away from me. The course is a proper links course would character and challenges. Hope you are enjoying Scotland as much as we are having you here! The videos show that Scotland isn’t all bad 👏🏻
1) Finlay has a really classic golf swing, to go with his classic golf accent. 2) Scotland seems a lovely place to play golf, because the courses aren't boring and the people are pleasant. 3) Erik, if you want to come out to the Augusta area around Masters week and take in the madness, I have a couch available.
Great job. You could tell the amount of golf was getting to your body. (I mean besides the finger). I'm not sure how you continued to play except to think that the excitement of each new course created a numbing sensation to get you through.
Like most people that watch your videos I also appreciate you making these videos and depriving yourself. You deserve some rest and relaxation and golf without cameras. But make sure to film it so we can watch it. Hehe
eal is top shelf, i look forward to his stuff, i watch several over and over........eal and those who enjoy his great game and those that he hangs with are like i said TOP SHELF>.............
I watch a lot of your videos and couldn't believe you're in my home village this episode! I grew up in Lundin Links and the ladies was the first course I played. I was a member of lundie golf club for years before moving to Canada and played Leven many times. Btw Lundie is a better course than Leven so make sure you play it next time. I also got married at the Old Mannor hotel!
You are so right, playing Golf and filming it at the same time is really tough, but you are doing well. I'm always looking forward for a new episode. Let me know if you want to come to Germany would really like to play a round with you.
Another great episode @EAL. Couldn't agree more with your comment about the people. I've never met a Scot, an Irishman, or an Aussie who wasn't friendly, funny, and fun to be with.
Hi Erick what did i mis in 3 weeks i had to do my own adventures in golf in Vegas and California beautiful vacation it was golf golf golf and no cell phones. Oh happy new year!!!!
ANOTHER GREAT VID. looks like everyone is leaning out during this trip. I think I came back 10lbs lighter after a week playing 36 a day in Scotland. My "larger" friend lost about 20 Lb's. Good call skipping class for a round with the boys, classic.
Erik, you should get honorary British citizenship. A true gent & v.respectful of the great Scottish tradition of links golf. Thanks for the great entertainment, Rod
Can someone please tell me which episode has the older guy playing hickory with the guys and uses a tee tassel! Ive never seen the tee tassel until that episode. Now i cant find the episode.
On my first visit to play Leven links in mid-September trying to make polite conversation with the starter, I mentioned that the Course looked in good condition. He looked at me with utter disdain and announced that it looked terrible because at this time of year the grass should be "BURRRRRRRRRRNT"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (By which he meant that the fairways should be the colour of ripe corn and not green as they were due to recent rain). You learn quickly as an Englishman in Scotland not to inflame the sensibilities of the locals!
Hope you can make it out to Branson Missouri for the opening of Tigers newest course Payne’s Valley. Apparently they are building the worlds largest artificial waterfall... and you. Erik. Seem like the kinda guy who digs waterfalls.
what did Finlay mean by dropping balls closest to the tee to determine shot order? one person drops 4 balls at once over top of a tee, or people throw closest to the tee like lawn bowling?
I played 36 holes at Leven Linke and Lundin Links today and I can tell you without a shadow of a doubt Lundin Links is 100% wayyy better it’s not even close
