hey Hunter! Regarding the time for impact timer, it is available for all laser guided munitions on all aircraft now. It's not only special for the Skipper:D. It's such a nice QoL change though. Just a bit weird that they didn't mention anything about it in the update changelog. On another note, have you tried HEAT Mavericks after the post-pen buff? I'm having a pretty good time using it in the A-10:D
Hello! Cool! After your comment I went to test drive and tried GBU-12 it has a timer which is cool but GBU-24 still doesn't on F-16C :( For Mavericks I tried only "G" variant on F-4 Phantom ICE, making a video you know :)
@@Hunter_i86 interesting about the F-16. Bug report time I guess lol. I'll be looking forward for the F-4F ICE video:D because I am in no way stock grinding a Phantom at 12.7 with all the ARHs being slung around 😂
@@HansMartin1903 Fantom sucks to grind stock at 10.7 (i have only german one). I dont even want to know how bad it will be, time to grind in PVE mode i guess, had enough shit with stock grinding Mig29 (not G) before the update, now its just highest WT difficulty.
Gaijin gave us the option to fire flares and chaff separately and broke the countermeasure mechanic entirely in the process. 2 flares and no chaff, lmao.
@@Hxngmxn bug, not trusty too, if I lock and switch to 3rd person view I will lose the lock, WT feels like an early access game that is not finished yet.
Never had a problem till after this update. They don’t render in at all for me anymore. I changed nothing, so I’ve been changing my settings for awhile and still no fix.
I love planes like the A-6E and Buccaneer, they aren't the fastest or the most elegant planes out there, but if you want a LOT of ordinance dumped ontop of your enemies then say no more.
The Skipper II is technically a GBU-16 with a solid fuel rocket booster attached to it. This was intended as an Anti Ship Missile. Funfact: there was never a Skipper I, the missile is named Skipper II because It’s based on the Paveway II.
Can you make a keybinds video, especially for laser guided weapons? Idk what happened with this update but could not get the laser and skipper missile to function correctly
@@Mibarri Before the update I had a weird bug that happened twice where suddenly in flight none of my flight controls (example wasd movement)where working properly and the plane would be out of wack and would end up crashing🙄
Also works pretty well in sim, you can still get the "rocket" pipper in cockpit view Also, when you play the Harrier, I highly recommend taking 3 Mavs and 1 AMRAAM. You can rearm at helipads so quickly that the low quantity doesn't matter - I might actually prefer it a bit over the F-16C
@@jfletcher3285 Change sight mode in cockpit, or if you're using secondary weapon selection it should swap automatically. If the glass is blank, you probably need to pitch down so you can see it - even the Skippers drop a fair bit
@@Nighthawk2401 I will play with it some more. For some reason, could have been the update, when you zoom in it shows, but when you are zoomed out, you can't really see the piper on the HUD unless you zoom in. But I will play around with it today to see if I can fix the problem. I use cockpit mode and flight control stick. More realistic and I love it, more challenging than using Keyboard and mouse like most people do. But that is just me. :)
Dude I really need help cuz I suck so bad at war thunder and the request that I am gana ask you is ridiculous but could you maybe do a tips vids to maybe? I totally understand if you can’t and that’s fine it’s just that I want to be good at the game like you.
I have been playing since 2019 and I still struggle in the dog fight, but I’m a bomber pilot and trust me practicing and learning the nuances of your planes you want to get good at will get better over time. Also I use flight stick and throttles for flying anymore in the cockpit, though I fare better at using PS4 controllers. When I tried to use keyboard and mouse, I couldn’t get my right hand and left hand to work together, hence why I like the flight stick better. I still use my controller for ground RB. Also watch other RU-vidrs that you like see how they play. It has helped me a lot, and Hunter is one of the ones I follow when it comes to War Thunder. 😁
Hunter. Have you found a way to make them work in SIM yet? Also, the maverick cameras seem to be bugged. Mine always start facing the far left and they don't follow the nose of the plane when you switch to the MFD. Like "Sight Stabilization" is all ready on. Seems like every major update, they bork every air to ground TV Guided ordinance. (Planes I've tried with TV Ordinance: A7K, A7D? w/ Walleyes and both A-10s.)
Yeah man I know, I told them many times they ruined TV mechanics in dev server days, I wrote three feedbacks about it in the CC discord, it won't matter I guess.
Taking a full of splitting the countermeasures load will bug them, but taking approximately 3:1 ratio will work. Or it has for me. *EDIT* The bug has been fixed.
I escort these things and A10’s in sim they definitely have their own storyline going absolute beasts on the battlefield 😂😂 What do you even call those skippers?? FOX 5?? 😂
Ive never been this high rank in ground rb. Just up to around 6.0 france. Can a tank know when a laser is pointing on them? I want to fly mirage-2000D in ground rb one day.
Some ground vehicles have laser warning systems, they can launch smoke grenades and defeat the incoming laser guided weapon when they get a laser warning. Vehicles like 2s38, T-90M, PUMA, BMP-2M, Top Tier Chinese tanks, Merkava ... etc.
I really like the A-6E, but I can't understand why the developers don't want to add a radar to it. I found several manuals, one from the A-6E version, the other from the A-6E TRAM version, the older one describes the AN/APQ-148 radar, which was later (also in the TRAM version) replaced by the AN/APQ-156 radar. Both radars had the ability to track airborne targets in the "AMTI" mode. I created another missing radar report. If you have any information about the A-6E TRAM, please add your own information. The link won't work, so here's the title of the report: A-6E TRAM still missing its radar ❤ And one more thing. The manual I found states it could also carry external 300 gal. fuel tank.
Why do u not launch 15-30° in the air so u can hit liken 8-10km away ? Are these AGMs makes problems if u "loft" these ? Because if u try too kill normal AA on these BR they have a range in 10km.
@@Hunter_i86 yes thats what i mean. For example Alt: 4.000m and Distance too Battlefield: 9Km If u then fire the agm with the crosshair on the target it should hit or ?
@@philipprobst1783 It should yes, check this strike from 8000m altitude LoL (Moment marked) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-V9b9jNI3wDk.htmlsi=Z03o17JjmeWCQEEa&t=189
@@Hunter_i86 ah now i understand. Its a small area in the sign of the AGM starting view. So u can not loft soo much and far away because its not in the launching square. So u need some alt for dropping. Mh okey then its maybe not that strong i tought for Clan wars
Hey, Hunter! Really nice clips, you handle modern aircraft like a pro! I have a question though: how many times did you get killed by other aircraft while making the video, roughly?
That's impressive hunter, I can't use skipper since it bleeding the speed faster. Nice tip, I should use the way how you do it from this video. I used to play it like normal gbu, maybe that's why I missed the target sometimes.
its ineffective at doing what it was added for. Both Paveway IIs and the AGM-123 Skipper suffer from the same bug/issue that makes them not work properly as well as making the A-6E TRAM borderline unusable. I have attempted to report the issue and it goes ignored and/or labeled as "not a bug" by the same shitty Gaijin employee despite all the evidence i provide.
@@Hunter_i86 Paveway II bombs don't glide or attempt to glide at all if the laser point is outside of the CCIP circle. This also is a problem because the Paveway bombs share the same CCIP trajectory as dumb bomb equivalents, despite the Paveway bombs being designed to be able to glide much further. This also is even worse on the AGM-123 Skipper because the whole point of the rocket booster is to even further increase it's range over un-powered Paveway bombs; but because the Skipper actually doesn't even seem to target the laser point until right as it's about to hit the ground or until the booster is off, it just nose dives straight down like a normal bomb. The skipper uses the same (or a similar) canard and winglet package as the Paveway bombs. So it should also be able to glide but it doesn't. It doesn't seem to target anywhere beyond the rocket CCIP marker. Neither the Paveways or the Skippers work properly and I've tried to have it fixed but it gets labeled as "not a big" despite me showing exactly what is wrong. It's most noticable on the A-6E because it's CCIP trajectory is much shorter than what a harrier or super sonic can get due to speed. But it should still be able to get very good range out of it, not the abysmal range of being no further than a normal low drag dumb bomb. It hurts the A-6E especially since it keeps it from being able to properly perform standoff or compete in uptiers. It's almost more effective to just use dumb bombs because at least those are fire and forget technically.
My first game using the skippers i think I killed 9 tanks, rearmed 3 times, and dropped a gbu 12 I had in the center pylon on a low flying MQ-1 drone for the last kill of the game.
Gaijin:"We're raising the TRAM's BR because it can out range the AAs it faces" *Gives it a longer range missile that out ranges pretty much every AA* ...
Hi Hunter! I'm your fan. I am Brazilian. In honor of the Brazilians, can you do a cas gameplay with the new Brazilian premium AMX from the Italian tech tree? Success for you
Hunter, I've been trying to figure out how to use the Skipper while in cockpit mode. I couldn't figure out how to get the lock or how to go about locking it up. Would you be able to do a video demonstrating how to do the Skipper inside cockpit mode? Thanks. :)
It is not playable in cockpit, the CCIP reticle is at the bottom and appears late. I suggested giving it a CCRP polished timer so it can be used in both RB and SB, but the snail don't care.
@@Hunter_i86 Thanks… Truth is, why can’t Panchito, the bombadier do the work? I got a decal that said, Panchito The Cock Fighter and the name stuck for my Bombadier…🤣😂🤣 Though it would be nice if our AI gunners and bombers actually worked while we are flying the plane trying to keep us both alive.
Hi "Hunter", another great video! quick question, is it a bug with the last update that you can no longer lock targets with the pod? I've noticed the same thing on French Jaguar and Mirage 2000D
@@Optimusprime56241 eh, that was never really my issue with em. It was the radar+missiles. Genuinely surprised they didn’t decide to give access to Mavericks alongside the Skippers.
@@swordsman1_messer They can't give it mavericks because this version (the TRAM) could not fire them, that capability was only added in the SWIP version, which hopefully at some point comes to the game as tech tree variant. It adds all the TV weapon capabilites, so walleyes and mavs, maybe also other stuff but I'm not sure.
@@Optimusprime56241gajin answered me that they corrected it to match historical specs, and when they released TRAM they gave thermals module from helis. I’m ok with that, however according to consumer rights they should compensate buyer downgrade, as at the moment of purchase I took into consideration also great thermals. What if they be giving other premiums great specs for first year, and then nerf it? It’s a move in very bad direction…
If gaijin ever makes an effort to give planes their proper A-G avionics functionality, the A-6 and PROBABLY the A-7 will be the most potent ground strike aircraft in the game and will only be outdone by Gripen, F-16C and future additions like the F-15E, F/A-18 & Eurofighter.
