These videos are simply marvelous. The setting, the unobtrusive camerawork, the raw, rich sound. The playing is sublime, true music that goes where words cannot. Bill's grins and utter engagement, Julian's grimaces, hearing notes between notes between notes. High fives to all involved.
Il bello di questo duo, Julian & Bill, è l'interazione fra due temperamenti così differenti, la musica permette che questo miracolo accada con le mille sfumature che un attento ascoltatore riesce a cogliere. Conosco da decenni questi due chitarristi e li adoro per cui è necessario ringraziare chi ha messo in rete questi filmati. Peccato che probabilmente non capirà l'italiano. Anche io sono molto legato a questi due chitarristi, Bill Frisell dai tempi di Naked City e visto in un incredibile concerto con Joe Lovano e Paul Motian a metà dei '90...Julian Lage invece scoperto di recente, e finalmente l'ho potuto ascoltare poche settimane fa a Follonica. Due artisti incredibili e versatili. Sentirli insieme un'esperienza fantastica
