dont need to tension the belt? in the workshop manuals theres procedure for that

@mechanicigor 4 месяца назад
You don't have to tension this belt just connect with coolant pump and tighten the coolant pump and you are all set

I have the same issue. However, is it the seal that breaks down for the actually cast unit itself? If so, it would make sense to buy a replacement seal kit would it not?

No the pump is leaking from the saft so you have to replace whole pump

One more question... How and where you tension the belt? On some videos they tension the belt on left side pump housing, but my original and new pump dont have this option. Im afraid that my belt fill wall off. Thanks once more.
@mechanicigor
@mechanicigor 10 месяцев назад
@mattfactor5278 there is no tensioner for this belt just remove the pump with the belt and install the new one together with the belt

@@mechanicigor Thanks for anwser, milion times. I ask this because some similar pumps have belt tensiner on the pump.

How many kilometers did you have when you change the waterpump?
@mechanicigor
@mechanicigor 2 года назад
I don't think that the mileage is dependent on this waterpump because I have vehicle with 200000km and hasn't been changed but also I have vehicle replaced at 70000km because it was leaking

@@mechanicigor True.. my VW UP 2013, just had changed at 194.000km. I see you put the old belt back, is it OK like that?
@mechanicigor
@mechanicigor Год назад
@@dennyc4135 yeah this belt its not stressed like the timing belt thats why it can be reused its not that expensive but i had to wait for 10days for new one
@dennyc4135
@dennyc4135 Год назад
@@mechanicigor yeah, true it's not so stressed like timing belt.. on my garage apparently put the belt back on my water pump repair despite it's almost 200.000km old.. a bit too bad they didn't change it considering the price. Hopefully it will last. How about timing belt, I read it's a lifetime timing belt of 10 years or 240.000km, will it last that long.. I just check mine, still looks OK
@mechanicigor
@mechanicigor Год назад
@@dennyc4135 yes according to the manual should go that long but I prefer a little sooner not to wait till last km or year
