Great video. I have the Octavia 1.4 TSI elegance and despite a couple of issues really like the car. Undecided about upgrading to the VRS although I like it very much. Concerned about rising energy costs and the lack of available roads to get the most out of the car.

We have the same 2015 RS wagon in white and are about to look at the new one. I’m no video guru but your editing and info share voice over is great. Keep em coming. Hi George, Thankyou my guy, really glad you enjoyed the video mate, it has been pretty well received and got a lot more views than i thought it would, only wish i edited the talking a little better and louder, next time! i really wanted to do an engine comparison and had planned this but the car sold to the first person who saw it lol ..which was a lot quicker than i anticipated. being an RS 2015 wagon already though, this is what to expect. It feels very similar in actual power, the new car has more power and you can feel it, but not how you may expect, because you have an extra with the extra power, coupled with the torque steering control (very little to no front wheel slip) you end up feeling the power delivery being delivered in a wonderful smooth transitional experience, with the extra torque pulling it along it all makes for a nice power shift from the 2015 - i cant tell you enough that it is a very nice improvement over an already good package...you will appreciate it being a 2015 owner. hope this helps and apologies for not being able to deliver an engine comparison.
Great video Jamie. I have one coming in 6 weeks and do you know if by now in 2023 they have fixed up some of the infotainment and drive assist gremlins as Škoda can not let me know anything as I’m guessing they don’t want me to cancel my order on a 60k wagon. Cheers and all the best mate 😊
not sure why you tube never batched this message to me in alerts, or i would have answered a long time ago, by now you would have noticed that they never really got it improved to a satisfactory level IMO, how are you finding it?
Hey Ian, thanks for the kind words - the 2015 is a beast for sure, infotainment buttons i don't really have to much of an issue with, as a Spotify android owner, i don't really even need to use it much as voice command is fantastic, hey google "play xyz" playlist " done - as for the rest you can add all your digital stations to favourites if you want to listen to DAB /FM radio, once you do that its all G - it took me a while to get used to aircon, i don't care for its smart functions at all and opt to use the classic interface, which you can use via the only hard button on the dash marked "clima" press this button then go classic on the screen, i will be clear in saying that i DONT like it as much as the old hard button interface, but mostly because that is what i am used to and as humans, we don't like change , especially if it takes a little longer which this new method does.
Well done Jamie! Would have loved to of seen under the bonnet on both of these. I used to own a race blue Mk3 VRS myself. Now going back to a MK4 VRS after a stint with a Kia Stinger GT. Do you know if the engines/turbos are the same (I’ve heard they are in Australia). Driving characteristics any different between the two? I know the mk4 has the VAQ diff which the Mk3 2015 didn’t get until later.
Thanks Dave. Sorry I missed this comment. The driving characteristics are not quite the same exactly The Mark 4. Gearbox and diff both seem to be tuned to be a lot quicker and traction to the ground is a lot more efficient.
Great comparison vid. I'm looking at getting one of these soon. Have you experienced any software issues with the infotainment or digital dash? I've heard that this model does have some software bugs
So far so.good.mate no issues worth mentioning, I have had the auto brake system apply itself whilst reversing, if anything I feel the car may be too safe ! Lol All in all loving the purchase. Next shipment coming around September I've been told
Nice side by side , cool, I have Tdi sedan 2015 . I use an obdelven scanner on mine to customise a bit . so video playing tail lights drl's , traffic reports , deactivate start/stop although you can just take the wire off the battery . In your opinion is this car an incremental improvement or a substantial one?
Hi Dean, thankyou for the kind words, its my first review video and whilst i know there is room for improvement it is nice to hear encouraging feedback, obdelven scanner sounds interesting to say the least, in regards to your question i would say sliding behind the cockpit feels similar in terms of comfort and overall feel, however that is where it ends for me, the substantial improvements are : front end grip is excellent now, nearly no slip at all, technology is far superior, interior finishing far superior, gearbox is far superior in terms of the dsg box really slides into small shifts with ease, this all adds up to the car feeling more refined in all aspects and yes it is noticeable indeed, if i had to pick on the car i would say 360 camera would have been welcomed and perhaps even a better resolution, but i am nit picking. it is a good purchase.. hope this helps.
@@MrTechTime yeah ok so all those little changes the 2015 needed makes it all come together. If I assume correctly your not far from me if your seven hills area ? I'm stanhope gardens if you want to see what customised options can be done with the ob2 app. that's something I'd like to know because australia limits options. would that be of interest? not change things just see options.

Apologies Ian i missed this comment when posted, this is the only relevant information i could find on the internet relating, "latest 242bhp 2.0-liter engine employs two selective catalytic reduction (SCR) filters and dual AdBlue injection"
They are good looking wagons, only issue is that they are a Skoda and this brand is associated with Poor quality and a history of problems in Europe. However they do make a great 2nd hand wagon , hopefully they have improved as the design looks nice and am sick of all the SUVs on the rd. Cheers
Hi James, appreciate the feedback mate. I've got to say that owning skodas now for a little over 7 years. Reliability isn't a problem, but you are right in your assessment of Skoda being an unreliable brand. However, we are looking back to many many years ago as they now have been acquired by the VW group. They are essentially very much the same as audio and Volkswagen in terms of reliability and performance.
