I have a 2020 mark 3, 1.5 TSI with 7 speed DSG. People at Skoda told me that this gearbox is dry clutch and sealed 4 life. So I don't have oils to change @@ahmadalhusaini4677

I have one (estate) with 150 hp ans DSG from 2019. It has done 167000 and no problems so far. Smooth drive, economical and swift. Just back from the south of France with a caravan: excellent performance. A good family car!

Bought a Octavia 2017 a few months ago. Excellent family car, very happy with it. One note I have : Not in need of more power than necessary I bought a 1 liter 3 cilinder. These vibrate a bit in the cabine and the engine rattles a bit. . I had it checked and I'm told that it is inerrant to the motor. Just keep it in mind. A 4 cilinder should not have these characteristics.
@JJonCars

Good to hear you're happy with it. You're right about 3 cylinder motors, they can be a bit less refined but in my opinion they make a nice noise when you're accelerating. Cheers for watching and for the comment 👍

We've got the 2017 Scout version, a brilliant car in every respect. The Octavia is one of the best cars out there in terms of quality and real value for money. Oh yes I really do like the split headlights fitted to the facelifted cars from 2017 onwards, gives the car a striking sharp look. Might well replace our other car a Mondeo, for the 1.5 petrol Octavia hatchback. Great review JJ on Cars, always look out for the new reviews.

Had no problems with my Octavia 2019 reg. manual. Only complains a little offset driver sitting position and noises levels. Also, if to be picky little rattles noises - which disappear if you go faster ;) Build quality was a bit better in A5 Vs A7 Octavia model. And do not buy second hand DSG automatic if car is over 100k mile (ticking bomb with expensive repairs).

I have a 2015 1.6tdi DSG. Really just needed a car as my peugeot was falling to bits. Was pointed to this by my uncle who's a trader (and happened to have one sitting there) I think it's the most unsuspecting car. For a young person and petrolhead myself, it really is just a more practical golf mk7. I've done countless things to the car, most impressively fitted the 9.2inch touchscreen and digital dashboard to really bring it to 2023. Drives brilliantly, super reliable. Maybe a bit slow setting off and hesitant to use 1st like most DSG models. It also likes to chew through suspension bushes. Never thought it'll be a car I'd come to appriciate and love with it being 'Just a taxi'.
@JJonCars
@JJonCars 8 месяцев назад
Thanks for the comment man. I honestly think there's no such thing as a 'petrol head' car or a 'boring car' or anything like that. If we like a car, we like a car and it really doesn't matter what other people think. So fair play, glad you like it, they are great cars.

How does this compare to the Greenline version on a 15 model..? Do you reckon it would have better fuel consumption or would it be on par..? I’ve heard the Greenline versions are fairly rare to purchase knowadays …

Im thinking to trade my bmw e91 325i in for a the 1.0tsi version. I know its a big power gap and a bit of comfort gap but the bmw is twice as expensive in insurance,fuel and road tax. I just dont know if itd be wise 😅
@JJonCars
@JJonCars 5 месяцев назад
You sound like a car guy to me.. I think you might find the Octavia somewhat uninteresting compared to the old Beemer. I think you have to question whether the extra costs are worth the enjoyment you might get from the car :) The Octavia is a great car, but it's not necessarily a car for petrolheads (as mentioned in the vid :) ). But then again, if you need something sensible and to cut costs, then it's a good choice.
@damientjeh
@damientjeh 5 месяцев назад
@@JJonCarsits a difficult choice, our speedlimits are very low so the skoda would make more sense but as you say i like cars but i wouldnt need a 6cilinder for 60mph max speed limit on highways. But its just the comfort and smoothness the car. But the costs dont make sense. If id own the bmw for 2 years from now on for the extra costs i could buy a skoda
