Rocky K don't compare legends to that immature noob who only knows thats what she said jokes. He used to be good earlier but now he's going the same way as Mumbiker Nikhil. Less about cars and more about his girls.
@@sinuslebastian6366 Well, his main focus is still on the cars and he's just not making vlogs out of random things like MN. Even in his lifestyle vlogs, he does talk about the car, if there is a car in the video. If you hate him that much just don't follow him. No need to spread hate 😂
yea City is better.. let it b ride quality or handling or rev happy grunting engine.. or space, comfort, luxury.. I'm not saying this.. these are the words of car journalists
I own the city , my cousin and one my dearest friends have Skoda rapid . So 2 skodas and 1 city .. many of my relatives own the city .. so from all these experiences and opinions.. Skoda rapid is ofcourse faster but when it comes to ease of ownership , light on pocket maintenance, reliability and most importantly peace of mind due to all of the above, it's the City that wins .. but for someone with deep pockets and want to enjoy the adrenaline rush , it's the Skoda rapid 🙂🙂
Actually you are wrong torque converter played a big role and that is only in automatic and not in manual. Rapid won because it has good gearing ratio and thus manual vs manual would have been quite interesting not saying that City could have won but yes. Automatic played a huge role in making that margin
@@shivanshparihar5586 I own a manual 1.0 rapid and I'll tell ya, its damn faster than the torque converter...provided youre familiar with the long travel clutch of the VW
@@abhishekparida666 compare it to the city, or any other mainstream vehicles from MS or hyundai, it's comparatively long. Its a complaint I often hear from my colleague who owns an Scross, whenever he drives my car...
@@dhruvkumar7802 that means hussle free, less maintenance, more durable. Just look at condition of a 1lakh kms+ driven polo and a 1lakh plus driven city, the charm of city is still there to drive and your money in the wallet is still be with you, but not in the case of germans 😬
Sometimes it feels comical when you look at carwow drag races and what cars we Indians get in performance comparison. Then again price difference is also there. Love the series ❤️. Keep it up PD.
wouldn't that literally be copying well powerdrift is probably one channel that doesn't copy others content and they have their own unique way of doing things which is accurate yet fun to watch
lol, I've seen this series and I do believe City can't match up to the others but when its Auto vs Auto. City MT should easily win against any automatic in the same segment or the cars in this time's drag race of Powerdrift.
Are your timing gears accurate? In the 1st race, both cars were close to each other and the 0-100 difference was ~1.4 seconds. Meanwhile in the 2nd run, rapid was far ahead yet the difference was less than 0.6 seconds. Mmhmm... OR maybe Rohan botched up the shift to 3rd in the first run...
@@shantanu4455 he's talking about the dofferenfe in timings. In the second run rapid was much ahead so the difference should've been more than what it was in the first run, I guess that's what he means to say
@@mandeepsingh9469 honda city is NA , skoda is a turbo. Also 3 cylinder vs 4 cylinder. No comparison here. Proper comparison would be old rapid tdi vs city idtec.
I feel NA should be compared with NA engines like ciaz vs city . Above video rapid was expected to win as we know it's turbo charged and has better torque.
@@lazyres2 ha ha I know Skoda is not German but vw is German and which engine is use in Skoda is source from vw may be you don't know this that's why I say 🤪
0-100 in 12 seconds?? Clearly this goof doesn't know how to drive a stick shift.. The city is capable of doing it in under 10 seconds.. First get someone who knows how to drive a manual then do the drag race again.
@@josephilip2136 yeah that naturally aspirated manual city just got smoked by a 1L engine that too a torque converter 😂...If it would have been a manual Rapid, city would be out from the race from start😂
@@josephilip2136 yes I have (in-fact my friend/neighbour has city ivtec and I drive it very often) & I have also driven the older 1.2 TSI + DSG (not the new 1.0 TSI + TC combo though), So I know what I’m saying.
Yes, driven. In fact no match for the outgoing 1.2TSI or the present 1.0TSI. Even a torque converter puts the City MT in to shame in this video itself. Imagine the humiliation Honda would have had, if there was a Rapid MT around 😂
Great video for viewers however the engines are not really an apple to apple comparison as the torque output is much higher in the TSI engines. Yes having a manual to compete with a TC TSI should have ideally helped bridging the gap but better gear-RPM ratios could have still cut the difference a bit. As for the IVTEC it still shelled out a decent performance relatively. But the TSI with an able TC gearbox did a great job with the heavier kerb weight it had to carry..
@@yash9410503314 My guess Civic will definitely takes lead but not sure it will complete the race first. It depends on the track length. PD can make them compete and show us 😂
Amazing series powerdrift...! Love it...!! Keep em coming! Just a couple of suggestions 1. Try and include WEIGHT in the list of specs you show. 2. Try and race between either manuals or autos...
JUST WHAT I WANTED!!! TSI KICKED IN YO!!!❤️ i - VTEC got smoked!!!💥 P.S: It was the automatic gearbox in rapid, if it was the manual, then you know what would have happened. V-tec would have got Smocked Even Badly!!🤣
Although I belive the Rapid would be quicker, I don't think it's anywhere near the gap that you guys have shown here. There's a lot of factors at play here. 1)Did u use the same tires? If so then what was the condition and pressure of the tires? 2)The launch of the city did not look like you dumped the clutch at 5000RPM. It looked like a very smooth start. 3)What were the settings of the traction control?
Its obvious being a turbo charged unit it is evident that rapid will paas at early range but when vtec wakes up at mid range it will surpaas rapid when both are cruising on open road at 5 or 6 gear ...city will fly then at high range at 6 gear
That guys doesn't know to launch a car. I have done 10.2 sec flat on 2020 manual city. Explain how he is getting such slow times. Srsly u call that a launch. U guys stick to bikes
John Iyer how about this, you explain how you got such fast times? You got any proof of your claim, or are you just writing a comment sleeping on your bed to look cool? If you don't have any proof, then your words precisely mean dick.
@@Cruz_Mckenzye nigga just because u asked I searched for video on yt. Go check honda city 0 to 100 on indianautosblog channel. He managed to get 10.27.
By the way, Ten Hut and Raunak do make a great duo, something which I was sorely missing after the end of duo review videos from Charles and Ten Hut. That was an era❤️
Tourbo charged engine has 175 NM torque.... City has only 145 NM, with a naturally aspirated engine(not made for sudden pickup).... But City can maintain top speed in higher rpm with the class leading bhp of 121 So pls compare with same category engine
Excellent drag just like it should be made. But just out of curiosity, why are the 0-100 timings for a Honda City a bit off in each review? Some review clocks a barely 10 sec run on the VBOX and some other video shows it almost 2 secs slower like this one. Its a lot of difference considering many people boast of the City Manu as being the 0-100 beast in the segment. Curious anyone?
Seems like the stuff Matt Watson does 😋 But anyway it was a very uneven line up That skoda/VW automatic box is as good as it gets I mean people have tuned their RS and GTI to 400+ hp and the stock gearbox easily manages that insane power force Honda City is good and fast and maybe the perfect launch and shifts might come close but beating that auto box is very very difficult
Honda City is not meant for long Highways but it is for cities but Skoda rapid can be driven in cities as well as highways with high speeds with comfort and good handling
We can appreciate honda for making such an fun to drive, revv friendly Naturally Aspirated engine and giving tough competition to turbo engines As we know NA engines cant compete with turbos but Honda City is Exception 🔥💯
When I transitioned from the global fiesta to city 5th generation I had a lot of issues but once you get to know the city after 80km the engine comes to life.. I can see him kinda messing up his acceleration in the city... Turn off the traction control and have to time the acceleration right, for a random driver driving the city will be a bit hard.. But once you come to master the vtec you'll understand why this is the best sedan.
@2:28 you should not shift at the redline, you need to see the torque curve and shift so that after shift you are near/at the peak of torque curve. So redlining won’t give max accln:D
Obviously Skoda rapid will win. Because it has a turbocharged engine. So pls don't compare a turbocharged engine with an i-vtec naturally aspirated engine. We have to appreciate Honda for such a naturally aspirated engine that almost matches the turbocharged ones. It doesn't mean that Skoda rapid is not a good choice.
The Auto rapid is now defeating City manual...can't imagine what if the rapid was manual. Honda what are you doing, where is your Performance DNA. HONDA- we only make commuters🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Skoda you have a great potential. All good building your machines. Now try building your A.S.S also. Then you will be kicking out MSIL / Hyundai down the charts.
Really disappointed by the performance of Honda City. Sadly I own 5th gen Honda City 121 bhp is trash Japan is just another paper tiger which in reality sucks. I wish you guys did this video earlier.
You shouldn't be disappointed just because the car you own lost to a competitor in 0-100 sprint by 1 sec or so. Consider the practicality aspect and be happy with your purchase. There is a reason why City is the segment leader even when it is the costliest in the segment.
They both lacks fast shifting skills in drag race..look at the person sitting in city..he is totally relaxed and doesnt know how to shift gears..in drag race who good and proper time shift matters..he is revving city till 7k rpm and aura is revving only 5-6k rpm..so resulting aura wins but Who do drag races daily?? Look at other aspects like comfort, space, reliability etc where city shines.. 10 years old rapid cant able to match level of city
Great video absolutely phenomenal race, the race I want to see, the race I asked for many RU-vidrs, one more I want to see is that rapid 1.0 tsi vs Volkswagen Vento 1.0 tsi and Polo gt tsi vs Skoda rapid 1.0 tsi Anyway it was superb race 😍😍😍❤️❤️❤️
In any case the rapid would've won. If it was the City CVT, the rapid would've smoked it anyway. If it was the rapid manual, then it could get interesting but I'm sure the rapid wwould still win. It has the torque advantage.
Is it worth to buy current VAG 3 cylinders engine cars or shall wait, generally I don’t like 3 cylinder engine cars they are bound to knock and noisier than 4 cylinders ones.
@@vishnudev371 VW is the parent company. Engine, platform and most of the car itself is borrowed from vw vento. But yeah country of origin is Czech republic.
Sorry honda also made performance car like nsx and civic type r...in this comparison honda should bring city 1 litre turbo with torque converter gearr but not available in india..
I'm a Honda City owner from the past 3 and half years, and as far as my experience goes, Honda produces third quality products excluding it's ivtec engine.
Please make a drag race of Swift Petrol vs Freestyle Petrol. Swift has only 83PS and 113NM but Freestyle has 96PS and 120NM. However Swift has a power to weight ratio of 96bhp/tonne and torque to weight ratio of 132NM/tonne. Freestyle has power to weight ratio of 93bhp/tonne and toque to weight ratio of 117NM/tonne. It will be interesting to see how it goes.
When it comes to a manual transmission, you bring another variant to the table, the driver, and it's not to say that "oh the driver is an idiot" or anything unnecessary like this, it's just that you need time with the car to learn how to extract the best performance possible from that car, and that is considering each car has it's character and tricks.
As an owner of the 2021 City ZX, I think its due to the abysmal Bridgestone ecopia tyres that the city underperformed. Slap some Michelins or Yokohama Eartht1 205/50s and re run the test.
