Damm, try replacing the Rapid branding with Vento branding and see if anything changes.

Most people say both are same cars with different logo. Yes, but what matters is how clever you design the communication between throttle, engine, turbo, transmission etc. Surely Skoda's design is SIMPLY CLEVER.

Not much of a difference. But Skoda being Skoda, they are always slightly ahead of their competition when it comes to performance!

Both the cars have same specification apart from the weight, the Rapid is slightly lighter than the Vento hence it's wins.

I’m a Rapid owner with the previous Gen 1.6 MPI would love to see a drag race between Rapid and Vento with the old ❤️

I reckon those alloys on the Vento weight a bit more and are slightly bigger? That could lead to higher unsprung mass and that affects acceleration. But I reckon tires made the difference. Looks like Skoda side wall was slightly bigger than VWs also. But then again, this is all conjecture :P

It looks like You guys made Rapid to pull a good length at the end of the race. Around 17 to 18 secs of the race it seems that way. The rapid might be faster but you are making it to look that it is very ahead of the Vento...Anyways good race PD team...Really enjoyed watching this...

The only reason Rapid was was because of better drag coefficient I see the rapid looks more areodynamic then the vento again it maybe because of the driver skills @powerdrift please ensure you swap the drivers for the second run we will have a more clear picture ...... Guys, if you have an airstrip why just stop at a drag? Do the following. 1. One drag 2. One brake test from 80 kmph 3. One race from 40 kmph so that we see the fast pickups. It'll be great. Look at carwow channel for any reference. Then the videos will be complete. Sometimes a car is not great at off the line launch but makes up for it in acceleration, hard pull from 40kmph or 50 kmph will help us see that. Anyways good content.

I must say it has to do with the aero dynamics because .cheak the design the rapd tends to intake more air and flow it back but for vento that muscle look hits the air and slows down ....just my suggestion ....rapid has a lots of aero bonnet how many lines on hood

Skoda Rapid takes its name seriously!!!

I guess one can identify the difference when both these cars are test driven back to back. Rapid has 2 advantages over the Vento helping it with better acceleration numbers. 1. Weight - the Vento does weight 50kgs more so everything being equal it does take more effort for the same engine to haul that extra weight, though it's just micro seconds. 2. The Rapid has a different gearing, meaning that Rapid reaches the required rpm a tad bit faster than the Vento (example - Rapid is at 2.2k rpm at 80kmph in 3rd gear while Vento is at 2k rpm at 80kmph in 3rd gear) thus helping the Rapid move the torque band a little early making it a tad bit faster in every gear. This can be easily understood if someone has tried changing the sprockets on their bikes. I'm sure Vento will have a better top end where the Rapid might run out of breath (say at 150+)

A manual vs Torque convertor Rapid/Vento drag race would be lovely, we already know the results but it would be fun to see by how much does one win over the other

Heard Rapid has slightly sportier map. Also will stiffer suspension ever help in drag race?

In this drag race the overall weight of the Skoda , along with the driver and the amount fuel in it, seems to be a bit lighter than the VW.

Rapid is more driver centric and vento is for class and premium the ecu of rapid is tuned differently also vento has independent suspension that doesn't matter but vw group knows what exactly different in both cars also we have to check the weight of cars and rohans weight also

Rapid doesn't have Traction Control, just ESP but Vento has both. Maybe that is the reason.
