It's the same playstyle as Cloud9 actually, just executed waaaay better. Watch any non-SKT C9 game and it looks almost exactly like this, just takes longer and they usually miss an opening or two.
Tom Simpkins Yeah, that team is brave enough to use teleport on elder dragon nest while SKT T1 Huni's jayce is pushing their nexus. What a perfect team it is.
They sure made themselves look great. I was kinda worried that SKT would lose, if they lost here it would shatter the PRO league multiverse... It was the best outcome honestly. Misfits look great and gained a ton of respect, and the balance of the world stayed intact.
I'm confused about the gold spread most of all. at 27:00 in, there's 1.5k gold differential. SKT has 1 kill, 1 kill participation, sure they have 4 turrets down, but MSF has more kills, WAY more kill participation, 2 turrets, 2 drakes, and the farm isn't too different. like...where is that extra gold coming from? SKT should at least be equal, if not have LESS than MSF. This tends to happen in most SKT games where they're behind on kills and objectives and still come out with more gold even when they're loosing. Its really weird.
hold their head up high because...of video game? LOL. No disrespect, but that is funny. "A european group of bois made it to quarter finals in League of Legends world championship, we should keep our heads up!" What? ._____.
windrimondo theres a difference between the competitive see of a video game and just playing it. Just like how the competitive scene is way different than just playing a normal game of soccer or football. The teams on both sports and e sports put in time and effort to achieve a goal and to get better. Yes they should keep their heads high because they HAVE potential just like how other sports teams should because they HAVE the potential as well.
@@ripu2shredz1zz13 god i despise you and your ilk, this new generation of permad4 children that have inflated egos by watching streamers. check yourself kiddo, you're bad at the game, bad at life and are a virgin, despite your delusions making you believe otherwise.
This was Misfits rookie year with Power of Evil being the only real veteran in their team. They can be really proud of what they accomplished regardless, can't wait to see what they can pull off next year.
Well through the five game, Tris is OP. I've had big hope that MSF defeats SKT. PowerofEvil bought Mejai at game 4 and used SKT skins at final game. He is nastttttttttttttty.
Lets be fair here. SKT is underperforming this year, however misfits on the other hand is overperforming. No one even expected them to make it out of groups let alone almost beat skt in quarters.
Uh no. SKT can still have luck from sometime. Misfits could have won game 4 you know if it werent from those mistakes of diving SKT. SKT is pure luck here. They are considered legends never die cause they got out.
i think not guys, misft almost won, and for me its impossible :P, but actually wining the skt is much more difficult... anyway we have to recognize misft
So am I the only one that realized wolf is the main reason they could end it asap after killing both msf's carries? He was the one who probably called to end it, when he went to sej and shen at that bush he knew what he had to do, after killing sej he instantly ults to reach that recalling shen to stop him from backing. High IQ af
46:40 Blank drinking skills: level zero (spills and chokes to death). Faker drinking skills: level 9000 (the fullest of control, each mililiter calculated)
Kkoma looks a frustrated/angry. I think it's a bit heartbreaking for him to see Faker and Huni play so well while Bang and Wolf struggled. You could tell he's thinking about how to make the team stronger as a whole so they don't crumble in the semifinals. But you can also see the cracks in SKT that haven't been there before. Huni played well in spring but struggled in summer, same with Peanut. Faker is consistent but also has his moments sometimes. Bang has been steadily underperforming in lane and Wolf hasn't liked/thrived in the ardent meta. The next week will define whether SKT has what it takes to continue their dynasty or to taste their first defeat at Worlds.
Huni has to split push and any time that is spent killing him means more time on other areas of the map. He does get killed a bit more than he should but his laning phase is good. He doesn't play badly and he does what he should during team fights.
wolf deserves some attention too people... watch carefully the minimap after that last elder steal teamfight, he forcefully chases and kills maxlore then uses his ult to interrupt shen recall...
Lol, faker carried every single game for skt. even in game 3, he kept msf at the gates for sooo long all alone. PoE has nothing on him. The only reason skt took two losses was because of the unexpected picks and true skill from IgNar. not PoE.
I disagree, if they had let Ignar have the last pick rather than POE they would have won the game. The only reason Misfits ever won a game against SKT was because of Ignar and not POE. That tham pick totally destroyed the entire misfit composition as it countered four of misfit's champions. Honestly they lost this game due to the draft and they lost the draft because they gave POE priority pick over Ignar which was a mistake.
Yeah i thought so, but the last game was also a demonstration of stress from MSF, they know i woult have been thier last game, and ballsy move were even rarer, MSF did do well, but their lack of experiences was the big deal here in the last game sadly
Misfits made a couple of dumb mistakes. They really needed to commit to that 5v4 opportunity at baron when Jayce's tp was down and shen's ult was up. In the end, their indecisiveness with baron cost them the game.
game 4 was already won for them aswell, but they dived the inhib tower without minions and that was to much. A bit less ambition there and it would may been a 3:1 win for them. Anyway, if they stick together with this roster and staff i think they can do alot more in the future
Yeah, experience was the deciding factor. From the Coaches to the players. You have 2 full rookie players on MSF. If they had the calm to close the 4th game, they would've take it. If they stay together, hopefully, they can become a great team.
Lol did you see how many mistakes SKT made? And they were the experienced team. If SKT play like this, they are going to be 3:0 by RNG because RNG's team fighting is just as good as SKT.
45:48 can we just take a moment to appreciate how wolf is stopping both sej and shen from returning back to base, allowing skt to close the game. Didn't realise it until I watched it again
Everyone needs to realize this is an extremely broken SKT. If they even make it to the finals, that is a HUGE accomplishment. I still believe Korea is loads ahead of EU/NA. They talk about the gaps closing but SKT is not playing anywhere close to how they have the last two previous worlds. This is coming from an SKT fan since Faker debuted. I give MSF credit though, they should have won.
SKT, the true masters of the rift. Many come and many have fallen. Respect for MSF for coming in fearless. Shows that you don't have to copy the Korean teams and their meta.
What a tragedy with that Elder. And the huge Waves on top and bottom they woud have like decided the Game. Also Huni was TPed behind them before the Elder was stolen in a really bad spot.
I watched this game again and you realize SKT is so patient... many of the less experienced players lose patience and try to force the issue, which is the reason why they lose. This game is one of them... gl SKT.
To be honest, IgNar and Hans Sama are far better pair than Bang and Wolf. Through-out all the 5 games, the bot was just defending the bot turret, no sign of control or aggression. The team totally relies on Faker and Huni. I think if SKT had better ADC and support, they would've ended with a victory at game 3.
Well at least they are better than any NA team. Going so close against SKT is a big deal. Their macro and teamfighting was impressive. I think we can expect something from Misfits in the future
while waiting for worlds 2019 I looked back to this. SWEAR THIS IS ONE SOLID CONTENDER FOR ALL TIME WORLDS DISAPPOINTMENTS. nostalgic!!! Just love misfits I am really praying for this team for them to make this performance again and make it back to worlds!!! PS: rooting for cg, fnc, skt and g2 to win worlds 2019
Misfits played so well. Obviously they are devastated, they came so close. I wanted them to win, I wanted them to ruin my pick'ems score. Well done Misfits!!
My regards for Misfits! A "modest" team that made the three-time world champion tremble. I am unconditional fans of SKT T1. I have seen all the games of the LCK (in fact I have seen 90% of the games played by SKT T1 in its history), and I never saw them as in difficulties as I saw in their games against Misfits.
Maaaann I love it! Huni FORCED powerofevil to use syndra's ult, and that was the game changing plan because they immediately jumped on the other team members of misfit on the other side of the map and boom! killed ignar and did a fantastic fight at elder drake and stole it too and BOOM! won! amazing :D
Imagine if this msf lineup stays together and keeps improving. They did insanely well for such a new group. It was a joy watching them push skt to their limits.
I'm Skt fan but when it's was the game 5 I didn't care who's winning. Both teams give excellent perfomances and It was epic in my opinion. Greetings from Argentina!
In the beginning of this tournament, MSF wasn't even supposed to GET PAST THE GROUP. Yet there they made it. Great run. Looking forward to MSF Worlds 2018.
POE and IGNAR left the team, POE went to NA to a bottom tier team for money and MSF will be stomped at worlds if they even make it . They need to beat FNATC and VITALITY the 2 best EU to make it to worlds. That will never happen.
They didnt bend, they CRACKED. They were 1 smite away from breaking. They broke in LCK vs Longhzu. They wont win this year, a team that was expected to be last in their group took SKT to game 5. That just shows how a better team like RNG or SSG are able to break SKT. You should stop seeing SKT as Gods, they arent.
Did they crack? They cracked and they won! Not bad, right? They lost LCK 2016, but won the World Championship in the end. Misfits played really well. You got to give them that. I was surprised at how well they played, so looking forward to their display of elevated talents in the future. However, give credit where credit is due. SKT "cracked" but still gets win after win! I don't know who will win, but this was a great series. Enjoy the games! GL, SKT & Misfits.
Buddy matt, say that to me again when SKT beats RNG in the semis and wins the finals against SSG. Mark my words. Never bet against SKT. When SKT wins this, you'll learn to respect the gods. The best team to ever play LoL.
Yea they lost the LCK in 2016, but those games were close. The ones in 2017 were stomps. I give them credit for wining, but they dont seem like competitors for SSG (they 3-0ed Longhzu)
Ok Im gona say that to you. From what we saw, they wont beat SSG if they do face them. Here is why. Longhuz beat skt 3-1 in LCK. Samsung stomped Longhzu at worlds with a 3-0 sweep. SKT was a smite away from losing to a EU team that has never been to worlds and is onley 1 year old. If they were barely able to beat Misfits, they wont stand a chance against a samsung that 3-0'ed the expected winers of the tournament (Longhzu) They arent God's, Gods would not put them self in a situation where they lose to a team with 0 international experiance. Skt wont win this, RNG saw Misfits take SKT to game 5, they are a better team than Misfits, what is going to stop them from wining a game 5?
SKT is the defending champion but that does not mean they could just breeze through to the finals. Them saying that it's surprising for SKT having a hard time with a team like MSF is very wrong! SKT is an amazing team, they're not the defending champions for no reason, but so are the rest of Teams in the playoffs. Seeing 5-game matches means this is one hella exciting season.
As a SKT fan, I honestly think MSF could've easily defeated SKT if they had more worlds experience and careers. Watched these via replays but still did not skip anything because every moment of this thing was worth it.
Why huni is building tier for jayce, khan and other pros dont build go rush lethality can someone explain me why and if it is better rush tier or lethality
