I agree with the benefit of the slower paced PvP. Sadly there's a lot of gamers who would bag it out for being this way, especially the toxic PvP types. Plus it lacks the crowd control, like stuns and freezes, that I feel totally ruins most PvP approaches but that a lot of so-called leet PvPers rely on.
There actually are effects that work like stuns and freezes, though. Breaking the mast will force the player to anchor, and a crew attack will prevent them from taking any action except steering and changing speed until they have taken the crew attack damage. The status effects have novel names but familiar results.
I'm probably older than you. When it comes to PvP. I think it's just because I don't care enough about competition. Feel I did enough of that, I guess. But this game makes it a cinematic masterpiece.
The furniture that gives you 8k health for boarding is actually for all crew attacks. So firing muskets as well. It's probably the best furniture to run in the game, imo
In Hostile Takeovers, for me it's best to ignore the other players, and just concentrate on the towers and the PvE aspect. As it's a race to get the most PvE destroyed. Only focus the other player(s) when there are no computer ships around.
I had a PVP against 2 but in the participation 1 and their friend ended up just trying to block my shots and ram NPCs that i tried to kill so i wouldn't win but they failed because I won!! I managed this by keeping pressure on the participant making him focus more on looking towards me while he kept sailing out of the area. I wait until he repaired and then volley onto him forcing him to get away which by then I cornered him to the red line and he has to sail out of the red zone or I be ramming him. I basically distracted the friend by going after an NPC wait for him to DART ahead to kill it before me, I turn away when he is hard into killing the npc and sneak off towards the participant. I had a ton of fun, once I figured out their tactic, i tried something and it was working, they figured my tactic out by then we was on a 75% 80% and it was a very close call in the end.
i just skip the boarding cinematic as fast as possible and i use the furniture that gives 8000hp on crew attack, its not just boarding, its on crew attack or boarding its good for solo play pve atleast, pvp maybe there are better 1s like from the helm shop that reduces brace stamina
Scrapper station gives back 8khp on crew attack or boarding and water tank reduces 50% stamina depletion while bracing and gives 20% stamina regeneration faster, helm vendor sells water tank@@Dana-cb7vk
Can you do one for Helm Ragers? I've been wanting to do it but can be extremely challenging when all the others can teleport to the spot you are going toto cut you off. I feel there should be a PvE version of this activity similar to the one where you have to take down the HVT and take the loot back to your base alive.
Yeah, however when I was helping my friend do his, it didn't matter that they teleported. We still made it. I just had to avoid friendly fire since I had to join the event in able to fight the 3 ships that were after him. It was a fun and good fight. After the event was over, we gathered around and celebrated his victory with fireworks for a minute and then went our separate ways.
@@kalinora3901 I do like how others come together to celebrate victorious. I fought 2 during a hostile takeover. I got sunk but went back in and successfully claimed the zone. Afterwords, both players shot off fireworks and one messaged me saying "gg".
Ok...WTH is going on with the hostile takeovers NOT WORKING lately?? I win the takeover, and yes, theres another human player there, its not just me and the computer. So why doesnt it give me the factory when i win?? This game is so frustrating sometimes, its full of flaws like this. Also, you shouldnt have to do these takeovers PVP, it should be all against the computer. Im this close to giving up on this game, i put so much time and energy into it, start to have fun, then run into more flaws like this😡😡
No offense if you use the snow in a hostile take iver agaisnnt me ur guaranteed to be 20-25% behind me I beat two snow ships vs just me today in two separate take overs just useing blue specter purple torpedos and a bombard v on either side and mortar 3, funature geared just for ablaze and mortar AoE range
Also, the PvP is quite unbalanced in Sea of Thieves. If you are outnumbered, you have no chance. On top of that, some will spawn kill repetitively to where you can't do anything. The PvP in Sea of Thieves tends to be quite toxic and easily exploitable. In this game, even if you are outnumbered, you still feel like you have a chance if you strategize wisely. It's balanced and fun.
