I've had the Skull and Co switch lite case for over a year now and I can confirm it does yellow, it's just natural for plastic materials like these especially when they're transparent. Just a heads up for those who plan to buy it - but also take into consideration that maybe it's user error in my part and I may not have maintained it well. Regardless it's an amazing grip :)
Just ordered a Skull & Co Crystal Grip Case for my OLED. Was going to go with Satisfye but they are back ordered. The interchangeable grips on the Skull & Co also sold me.
I got me a Skull&Co Mario Red , because of the interchangeable grips, and as you said it fits 3rd party cases also(I have an Orzly case and it fits okay).Plus,I like the S&C one because it gives you extra protection in case you drop your switch..
@@Daley87 Don’t know about the crystal,I have the standard gripcase..Even with the trigger grips it fits okay, but you cannot put anything other than maybe a charging cable in the mesh pocket so that you don’t damage the analog sticks
The purpose of the Satisfye grip is to keep the grip itself from scuffing the Switch while also providing a great grip. The rubber pieces in the grip basically allow your Switch to be "floating" inside without the hard plastic leaving scratches on the system. I have Satisfye grips for all 3 of my Switches and I won't get any other grips for the sole reason of preservation.
Satisfye is the most comfortable, followed by S&C Crystal. I despise how loose the S&C Crystal case is. I do like it, but after a few months of using it, my switch doesn't feel as sturdy. I honestly feel like it case being loose is letting the joycons move more and becoming looser on the system. Overall, you do get the best protection with either S&C. I've owned all three, and Satisfye takes the cake for me. That being said, if I am ever going to be somewhere where I need more protection, I will be using the S&C.
Tried them all and I choose the Satisfye ZenGrips, to me they're much more easier to put on the Switch and I know the gripcase itself won't get loose overtime but that's just me, to each their own.
Amazing video! I have the satisfye and even with bigger hands for a girl, they started to hurt my elbows! I'm gonna order the skull & co crystal edition so I get a lighter case and the more wide grips! 🐻
Watching this made me realise satisfye should make a grip with joy on colours to kind of be a bit more pleasing to the eye. The black makes the joycons look more like an accent colour which isn’t bad but colour would look cool
@@Daley87 I talk about that in the review and other comparison. It is looser than the original case due to the material used and size of the case but it hasn’t been a problem for me at all.
The Skull & Co Crystal GripCase is the clear winner for me. I have that and the Satisfye ZenGrip, but Satisfye is a bit too large for my small hands and I found it too much of a stretch for my thumb to hit the X, Y, and + buttons comfortably. That and the asymmetrical grips felt unnatural as my right arm was angled out farther than my left. I do prefer the plush interior of the Satisfye case though, the larger storage capacity for cartridges, and the battery pack slot (with elastic band). But the comfort of the grip itself is of course higher priority, and with S&C's option for interchangeable grips, I found that the trigger grips worked well for me. It also fits in the dock quite nicely as long as it's aligned correctly when inserted. Although Satisfye's grip is a good sturdy material - very well made - in the end, it did not satisfy me quite like S&C's did.
I don’t recommend satisfye it’s scratched my switch and joy cons I also have the new one which said it was supposed to fix that problem but it still scratched it and left marks. I recommend Skull and Co I have it for my switch lite and it’s perfect with some minor problems but it doesn’t scratch my switch it protects it
Great video! I wish I would have found it before I bought the Satisfye grip. Someone recommended it to me in my disabled gamers group. I tired it for 30 minutes and dislocated both thumbs and a pinky finger. I think the Skull & Co is definitely the way to go for me since it has the interchangeable grips.
I bought a clear case similar to the Skull one off amazon. It yellowed and put scratches all over the back of my switch. I never took the case off and I take great care of my things. I didn't even hardly use my switch. This happened over the course of a few years. It could be the cheap brand that I bought but just a warning.
There might be an issue with your railing on your switch I have a number of different satisfye grips gen 1, gen 2, zen, and limited edition variants and I've never had an issue with the joycons coming out with my Gen 1 switch or the revised switch
I had the skull and co crystal and I just didn't like the build quality, the grip parts didn't feel solidly in so they felt a little loose making it super uncomfortable to hold
That's what I figured. I've never owned one but it looked like cheap hard plastic. I love my Satisfye especially the rubberized coating on the back. Expensive but feels very high quality.
Satisfye for the switch lite. Why? It's way more comfortable than the Skull in my opinion, cases are of better quality and the grip itself feels sturdier. The extra weight/size makes no difference in the lighter/smaller console and since it doesn't dock you won't need to be constantly removing it. V1 Skull for the regular switch. Why? More protection for the loose joycons, lighter and smaller which does make difference in the bigger console making it more comfortable and it's dockable meaning that you won't need to be removing the grip all the time you want to output the image on your TV.
I bought the skull and co and after a few weeks of use it loosened the left joy con. I would highly recommend against either of these unless you plan on leaving it in the grip at all times.
@@CTAtechdesk The neo grip is the one I bought. I really liked the grip and also the case. I was just disappointed that it loosened my left joy con. Like I said if you were to leave it In the grip all the time it probably wouldn’t an issue.
I went with the statisfye for my switch lite also replaced the yellow shell with a black shell to make it look better 😂 at first i wanted the skull n co but i really dont like the idea of it turning yellow 😅
Any sort of grip that has to constantly be removed imo is worthless. I've had the satisfye and while easy to remove it's still a pita to constantly keep doing.
Thank you for the great video! I've been trying to decide between these and your video has definitely helped, but one question...Guessing the angling of the right grip on the Satisfye must not have made that much difference since you ultimately use the S&C the most. Was wondering if that angle was as good as advertised or just sounded good in theory.
I will test for you tomorrow. do you mean the Orzly case that comes with the essentials pack? I’m pretty sure it won’t fit but will make 100% sure for you
@@CTAtechdesk thanks for checking. Actually just managed to get a great deal on a brand new Satisfye bundle in the UK. £35 on eBay for the frosted blue holiday bundle 👍🏻👍🏻
Ive got the Skull and Co non crystal version and it's such a tight fit in the dock, i have to push really hard and it leaves a mark on my screen protector.
Skull and Co have mentioned this themselves. It’s to do with some dock are “thinner” than others! Mine is fine and they say its something to do with the dock heating up over time and becoming warped.
@@CTAtechdesk ah fair enough! I must be unlucky as I only purchased my switch yesterday so must just be a thicker dock. I've gone ahead and bought the OVIO based on one of your other reviews!
I've owned all three, and I prefer the Satisfye, tropical blue style. It feels sturdier, it doesn't feel like it's going to scratch my Switch, and it's more comfortable with the angular right grip. I'm surprised he didn't show how he got those other cases into the dock; you have to squeeze it into the dock, and it feels really unnatural. It might scratch something too, mess up the connector port inside the dock, etc.
Got the satisfye and og skull & co. Satisfye is sooo much more comfortable. Plus the from adding and removing the skull & co my joycon is loose and wobbly 😒 not impressed
😂 Yeah, this is just a comparison video as it gets asked all the time in regards to these 2 (3) specific grips, i thought it was fair to compare the Oivo to grips that are very similar in this video : ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-0yw0x5vhsj4.html
You didn't mention the rubber grippers in the Satisfye that wont scratch the back of your Switch or your JoyCons. IMO the build quality is far superior to TPU plastic.
Testing durability lol. I really am arent I. Zoomed further out in this video to get them all in meant I was stretching far more than in other videos doesn’t help. sorry.
To me this isn't even a close comparison. The satisfye is so much more comfortable and practical to me. Anyone who prefers rhe skull n Co just isn't playing games the way I do I guess. Personally I think the satisfye has the BEST grips of ANY controller. That includes the ps5 and xbox controllers and the switch pro. I LOVE the satisfye grips and it made me hate asymmetrical stick layout slightly less Plus they are super easy to slip on and off. And I bought a dock extension cable and stand so I never need to take it off while docked One thing I've noticed is the satisfye makes the claw technique possible on the switch. There's so many good fps games that I tend to use the claw technique a lot Also, putting index and middle fingers on R , ZR /L, ZL is also significantly easier with the satisfye. Another reason this isn't a close comparison for me at all
